Re: Upload Project to ML-600
Hey Geoff,
I've been using the old Keyspan USB interface for this that I got ~10+ years ago, if you have something similar it should work. I'm sure you've done this but Just to underscore what Steve mentioned: 1. Check in Device manager, the Comport# that your interface is using 2. in the Toolbox address book/RS-232 settings is set to the right Comm and the advanced Device Detection is set to ML-600 - This will definitely make a difference Also remember - the ML-600 is essentially a URC, so whatever cable works for URC will work for the ML |

You shouldn't have to do anything with the software that came with your RS232 adapter.? You change the comport in the SystemInfo dialog box instead. There are a lot of flaky RS232 serial adapters out there.? You want to make sure you use one that uses a genuine FTDI chip.? The problem is a lot of RS232 adapters may say they use an FTDI chip when they really don't or they use a Chinese clone.? If you use a FTDI chip, there is no need to install device drivers -- they are all built into the latest OS's. I run Linux as my host computer so it was even a bigger program finding an RS232/USB adapter that works when trying to connect it to a Virtual Window machine.? It became so much of a problem that I made my own RS232/USB adapter using the FDTI FT230X chip.? If anyone would like to make their own too, let me know and I will post the schematic, KiCAD files, and programming instructions in the file section. Yeah, that’s one of the things I plan to try later.? I’ll let you guys know what ends up working, assuming I don’t through the remote through a window first :). Re: Upload Project to ML-600
开云体育No null modem cable needed.? Here are the steps that I know that work.1) Open toolbox. 2) Select Tools/SystemInfo. 3) Select Address book in lower left corner of the window. 4) Select the preinstalled ML600 address in the address book and click OK. 5) Download the ML600 file though the project download section of the SystemInfo dialog box. If you still cannot connect, make sure the address box is set to the right comport for your RS232 adaptor.? Other thing to check is under "Advanced Device Detection", make sure it is not on automatic -- you want to select *ML-600.? I have a lot of clients that love these remotes so there isn't a week that I am not downloading something to one of them.? But I am also using a 6 month old version of Toolbox (v3.03.236) to do it.? I heard there are a lot of issues with the latest version of toolbox.? Good luck, Steve On 3/15/20 1:10 PM, Geoffrey Reynolds

I've got Toolbox 3.03.332 and it won't connect to the ML-600.? I'm guessing either a bad (incompatible) USB to serial adapter or I need a null modem adapter in the middle. Thanks guys, Geoff On Sun, Mar 15, 2020 at 1:59 PM Pat Molettieri <pat.molettieri@...> wrote:

Yeah, I initially set this up for them about 10 years ago and I haven't had to deal with a ML-600 since. Unfortunately, I don't have any other serial port adapter gizmos with me today, so I may need to bring the new remote home with me tonight and work on it at home. Re: Upload Project to ML-600
开云体育It’s been a while since I’ve had to upload to one of those but a couple things to check... Make sure you’re using the correct Com Port in toolbox Try a null modem or flip the pins if you can. Some of those cables have tip and ring reversed.? I’d also try to do auto baud rate to see if it’ll connect On Mar 15, 2020, at 1:47 PM, Geoffrey Reynolds <greynlds@...> wrote:

Re: Flashing MSG LED on DMPS3-4K-150-C
开云体育Yeah, the light coming on (and remaining solid) but is the behavior I’m used to – it blinking is the concerning behavior. It wouldn’t bother me if it were just solid as every other processor. If blinking is normal for the 4K-150 I can just ignore it, but when you’re used to solid blinking implies a higher level of concern (at least to me J ) ? ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? I seem to remember a conversation with a friend about this.?
I think he asked TB about this, and they said:??IF any? Notice, Error or Warning is sent to the log, MSG light comes on.? So this would be enough:? ?SYSTEM LOG:
? 1. Notice: nk.exe # 2020-03-12 08:32:50? # Power On Keep in mind, this was a while ago (year or two), and it was related to DMPS-300-C. Maybe the've change things since than.? Black electrical tape will take care of that light ;) |
Flashing MSG LED on DMPS3-4K-150-C
开云体育I’m prepping a “gently used” DMPS3-4K-150 along with some other technology to bring to our new/second apartment (because for some reason [ ;) ] ?the wife didn’t like the idea of commuting from Cleveland to her new job in DC on a daily basis…even before the current situation) ? Anyway, I’ve notice the MSG (ERR for us veterans) is flashing at around a 1hz rate. Though the number of DMPS3-4K-150s I’ve encountered in the wild is low (extremely low compared to their bigger DMPS brethren and or standalone processors) I can’t say I’ve seen this before on any product. ? Any ideas what the significance of the blinking is? Nothing jumps out in the error log and if I clear the log it stops blinking – but the next time the DMPS3 reboots its back to flashing. This is with the firmware that was on it when I got it (2015), or the latest firmware from Crestron.com – and with the default program loaded on it or with my stupid simple Cisco codec control program ? Re: DMPS3-4K-350 disable build in AM?
No, we did not buy licenses. We use Kramer Via for wireless presentation. Management decided to do that after comparing multiple different platforms.
Where do i change which port does AM use? WebDMTools/EthernetSetup/AirMedia content LAN link state is UP. That's kinda weird. I know for a fact that AM is talking to DHCP server on the same port as DMPS LAN. (that's why Network guy asked me about it, AM constantly sends DHCP requests) But, I can only see feedback, I don't see a way to switch it.? |
