Re: Denon AVR4806 control via ethernet
In my experience, the older the Denon/Marantz, the flakier IP control is.? Most likely, you need to do a hard power restart of the Denon and it will start responding again for a while.? IMHO, you're much better off using RS-232 control with it - the commands are the same and if you really need to have it on the network get a Moxa nPort or equivalent. I have video on the displays they are all Samsung TVs but what happens is that the image flickers sometimes and sometimes it goes blank and 3 seconds after it shows up again. I dont know if the error message is what is causing the problem or is the signal coming from the cable box. Hard to say but i really dont want to have that message displaying on the DM diplay screen. I have already checked all the conections and everything is fine. I think that i have to authenticate it but i couldnt find it in the DM tools or any instruction on crestron true blue support page. You said to check the DM supported display resolutions but in the config there are alot of resolutions to pick from unless i try each one of them. Its gotta be something simple to solve the problem. Re: Denon AVR4806 control via ethernet
Thanks for the response.? No matter what I do I cannot get a web menu (Denon does not offer ffirmware for this model on their website, I fell the web browser is not capable with this model).? I was able to get the network menu to be active.? I followed Denon's instructions but it took around six tries before I was successful.
The client now shows online. Only if there is a way to control a non jailbroken apple tv through ethernet. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes. ? ¡¤??????? You may need to reboot the unit's microprocessor?? ¡¤??????? Have you checked/insured that the unit has the latest firmware? ¡¤??????? I have seen cases where units simply act in unusual ways and doing a Micro reset correct those issues. ? Go into the unit's setup menu, look under Network and there is an area for Updates or Firmware Updates.? I would urge you to invoke those updates and get the unit up to date, firmware speaking.? Do this first.? ? msm ? ? From: Crestron@... [mailto:Crestron@...]

Re: Acuity Controls nLight RS-232
sent. I've sent this a few times on request... maybe I should just upload it to the files section. my only hesitation is that it isn't 'finished' and I'm not going to put any more time into it unless I need more functionality out of it. It works great for what I needed it to do though. |

Re: Denon AVR4806 control via ethernet
Thanks for the response, I am not able to open the menu via a web browser.
The IP address to the unit is 10.x.x.05.? I can ping the unit through command prompt. Here is what I am not able to do with the Denon AVR4806 Telnet using port 23 (Unable to establish a connection) Open a web browser using the AVR's IP address 10.x.x.05 Any other suggestions, am I doing something wrong? Thanks, B |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf you know the IP address, simply enter that IP into your browser address bar and it should auto-magically take you the Denon's Menu.? I assume you are, indeed, on the exact same Sub-Net and also connected to same? ? Once there, you can control the Denon AVR via IP including adjusting any of the Menu parameters...zone config, naming conventions, turn ON Volume, Max Volume, Mono or stereo config, etc.? As far as connecting to the unit remotely (not locally), there is a procedure for enabling that feature but you will need to review the procedural setup for same.? If you don't have it or need assistance, it is posted on the Denon CI website (for Denon CI Dealers). ? Not sure if this is what you wanted or needed but just trying to assist. ? msm ? Denon AVR4806 control via ethernet
Hi,
I would like to use the Ethernet port on the back of my AVR4806 for control.? Here is my question... Do I need to set an IP address in the TC/IP client, I am sure that I do :)?? If so, does anyone know how to access the network settings inside the AVR4806?? I do not know the IP address assigned to the unit when I connected it to my router.? I am striking out all over the place.? This is the only thing I can find on the 4806 beside the manual.? The manual looks like the network manual is only on the 58 series.
Thank you for the help. B |

Make sure the bit depth, sample rate, and channel setup (mono/stereo) are okay for your panel. I use these in every project for auto power off warnings (1 minute, 30 second, and 10 seconds).

Re: Acuity Controls nLight RS-232
Look on their website, they have an .exe that'll give you the string for any level, inc, dec, or preset for every channel. I think the URL might be printed on the protocol sheet that's in the box.
Every time I've used them the electricians grouped them in zones by matching the channels, so I've always just used a SIO to send fixed levels, never needing to make a module to handle true FB. |

How much time after the doorbell is pressed do you return the system to its previous state? I figure it's very possible that the person at the door may push the doorbell more than once. I don't really want to flip the system back and forth between successive doorbell presses.

I created one that goes between the bipad or swamp, tracks if the room is currently ON,what input on the audio switcher, what the current volume is. It has parameters where you set which input on the switcher is your doorbell source, how long the doorbell should play, what volume the doorbell should play and what duration to use for ramping the volume up&down when the switcher goes between original source and doorbell. So basically it just remembers what you were doing if the room was already on. Inside the module were DRAM and ARAM symbols, analog inits, presets and rate limiter. A stepper used the parameters and did the following: Doorbell pressed: Store current room settings Ramp Volume Down Turn the Zone on the switcher Switch to doorbell input set doorbell volume play dooorbell wav Cut doorbell volume recall previous room state If room was originally off, turn it off again. Recall previous source (if there was one) Recall previous volume It works on the couple jobs I used it, I feel like given more time I could have improved it more but whatever. ============================================================================ Please refer to for important disclosures regarding this electronic communication. ============================================================================ |
