iPad streaming video

I have a tsw-750 that perfectly streams an IP cam, but my iPad running Crestron App can't seem to stream the same video. Nothing appears. I just used same logic.

Sure you can ftp over mobile projects - at least for edits.? I'm not sure if they have fixed the issue of no manifest.xml (?) created when you first FTP over a mobile project.

Aside from an encrypted connection are there any other benefits to SSH?

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues

One thing about the beta Toolbox is that it unzips the .spz on the computer side and sends multiple files; sending via FTP unzips on the processor side, which (IMHO) saves time on the computer, allowing me to more quickly do multiple loads.

I would try opening the corresponding SIMPL+ files (.USP) and recompiling them and see if that helps at all ¨C the DLLs you listed look like they¡¯re SIMPL+ for 3-series compiled output.

Newbie question, so apologies if it is foolish...

?

I have been working on some modifications to an existing SIMPL programs for a while without issue. My PC recently had a hard disk failure, so having replaced and rebuilt the system, I re-installed all the Crestron software I had been using and now my compilations fail with a number of LGCMCVT283 Errors, each relating to a DLL that it is looking for in the SPlswork directory; in total there are 10 DLL's that are referenced, including:

iPort_v05_03.dll

Integra_CDC_3_4.dll

tstat_temp_display.dll

tstat_sch_2_3.dll

tstat_temp_display_v1_1.dll

TxtLimit.dll

If I compile using D3 I receive 283 errors relted to some different DLL's missing. The DLL's definitely are not present in the SPLsworks folder. I tried Crestron support and they directed me to uninstall and reinstall all the programs and when that did not work, uninstall all the programs, clean the registry (I used cclean on their advice) and reinstall all the programs, all of which wasted a ton of time. So I thought I would turn to the group to see if anyone has a solution. Any ideas?

Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Floyd, the best I have come up with is to store things in the Site manager, but it's a global address book and not entirely practical and it doesn't bring up a set of tabs. ?Helpful if you're constantly accessing the same things always.

Once you get the source directories and destination directories set, after you've made changes and recompiled the project files, you just have to tab through each one and start the transfers.

Does anyone know of a way, in Filezilla or any other FTP program, to save a set of tabs as a "site" so that you can reload the tabs, with source and destination directories already set, from a saved config file?? That would save the couple minutes it takes to get all your connections setup the next time you are on the jobsite.

(I sure as soon as I send this, Yahoo will suddenly send me six emails with similar advice already delivered, but just in case...)

Those dlls all correspond to some S+ modules in your program, and they are generated at compile for 3-series.

The first thing to try when having compiling errors (beside moving away from the Dropbox folder if you have one) is deleting the contents of the SPlswork folder.

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues

One that I'm playing with is WinSCP. ?The nice thing about it is that you can click on a site and open a Putty session, meaning it's easy to give it a command to load the program once you have FTPd it.

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues

Don't know about Filezilla, but the Directory Opus program I mentioned can save a tab group and restore it later. ?You can save tab groups ("listers") as different names, so you can have different ones.

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues

I use Directory opus for FTP. ?I think it also supports (for an extra fee) secure FTP, but don't quote me on that. ?Directory Opus is a total replacement for the usual windows explorer file stuff. ?It has multiple tabs, and you can have 2 directory panes (each with multiple tabs) as well. ?You can do all sorts of scripting (I haven't delved into that) but just for the convenience of having the tabs and such it's amazing. ?It also has a nice preview tool built into it as well. ?I got sick of having multiple directory windows open, this solved it nicely. ?The FTP was a nice bonus when the 3 series started to support it.

Just keep in mind, this is not a free tool, but I found it well worth the money.

I've done several Sony EVI-H100 cameras via RS-422 on 3 series processors. It works well, but I do seem to remember needing to wire TX & RX +/- reverse polarity of what I had expected. Check your pinout and try flipping things around. I can at least confirm it does work once things get sorted out.

Re: Extron SIS IP Control

Works great.? Only gotcha I can think of is that some of the devices only support one connection at a time, and will close the older connection when a new one comes in.? Nothing too unusual.? Best practice for TCP connections is to keep them alive with a heartbeat every 30 seconds or so, that way you don't have to deal with timeouts and reconnections.

Hi all,

Does anyone have any good or bad experiences controlling an Extron SMX or anything else that uses SIS over IP? I know the commands and they work, but I'm concerned with 1) automatic TCP disconnect and 2) the copyright message that is transmitted every time I connect. Should I keep the connection alive and reduce the disconnect time?

Or should I just go serial? I don't mind serial but, it's 2014.

Re: Extron SIS IP Control

Rock solid over IP , just make sure you send a command periodically to keep the socket open.? If the Extron device doesn't see a command within 60 seconds it closes the socket and the Crestron processor will have to reconnect.

I usually send something like "Q" to query the firmware version every 30 seconds.? I trigger this from an SAWPULSE fed from my Tx to the Extron TCP Client that drives an ROS and a SEND or SIO.
