Remote access with Crestron App
I am thinking about updating my home system to allow remote access to do things like lock and unlock doors, etc from an iPhone.?? I have previously dissuaded customers from doing this as I felt it presented a serious security risk to the control system.?? I am curious when people doing this are they just doing a NAT to allow access to port 41794 from the internet facing router, or are you doing a VPN connection.?? I like not having to start a VPN connection, but it my security brain is very concerned with doing this without a VPN. Look forward to everyone's input and thank you in advance. Bryan |
Re: I cant get Lutron QS to work
Joseph Vossen
Integration IDs are assigned by the Lutron installer/programmer (also the device has to be "enabled" for integration).
you will either need a copy of Designer to verify the IDs and/or assign an ID to a device On Nov 14, 2013, at 4:55 PM, <moskmanz@...> <moskmanz@...> wrote: [snip] |
Re: Dish Receivers wake up
Change the box back to id1, and use the ir driver i uploaded to the file section.
To change id you use original remote, press menu, menu, have the tv on and this should get you to the system info page) the hold down the SAT button on remote, til it blinks a few times, then press 01, then # a few times, then record once or twice, the IR address on the tv should change to 01. Re: Fun with Smart Graphics.
The options are pretty limitless.? My biggest frustration is that we can't nest CIP tags within each other.? I'd love to be able to use a tag to show/hide a tag for a countdown timer, for example. On Thu, Nov 14, 2013 at 2:54 PM, <cfm@...> wrote:

Re: D3Pro Notice 259 Newer Version of Device
You know.... I believe everything important is stored in /Program Files (x86)/Crestron. I wonder if you could just archive that folder and the Crestron Registry branches and keep backups that way instead of whole VMs. Drop an .NFO file or something with the archive so you know what versions are contained in it and give the archive a serial number. Then put that serial number in your program header or filename or something.

Do you have this manual? Just to be clear the?INTEGRATIONID listed in the commands is a name you assign to the device. It can be anything from a single number like"1" to a?helpful?name like"Dining Room" Either way it has to be assigned or you have to use the device's serial number.

Re: Fun with Smart Graphics.
But in any case - the point here is to try and remember when working with the new stuff, the CIP tags aren't *only* applicable to the text portion of the label you're trying to display - you can insert them *anywhere*. Want text on a button to toggle back and forth between two different sizes in an attempt to get your attention?? Make sure the label has a <FONT size= tag, put an analog join in there, then switch between values on that join... So "<FONT size="<cipa>1</cipa>">Alternating Size Text!!!</FONT>" should let analog join 1 dictate the point size of the font used for that label. Potentially cool stuff - as long as you can remember the options are there... ? - Chip ---In Crestron@..., <cfm@...> wrote: Slowly, and I'm kicking and screaming less.? What else am I going to do?? ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI asked this question of someone I trust at Crestron and he said that there is no easy way. ?To make it even harder, you can't replace a device with itself. ?I went -P to -E and then back to -P, but luckily I only had 15 EX dimmers out of 160+ loads.? I recall someone here saying that they keep an entire virtual machine for every job... ?I'm frowning at the storage and backup requirements, but that sure does sound like a safe way to live. D3Pro Notice 259 Newer Version of Device
Just recently updated several D3Pro systems and used a newer database. Got a couple hundred notices on each system that there was a newer version of the device in the database. Anybody have any tricks on how to move to the newer device and have all the button definitions and programming move to the new device definition? We're a little afraid of errors if we have to do these one by one and copy all the logic individually. Our option is to move back to an older database but we want a clean build so the notices can't stay. Thanks. Tom
NOTICE (259) A newer version of device [CLW-EX Basic Switch Controls] exists in the current Device Library at address [01]. It is advised to replace your instance of this device with what is currently in the Device Library. |

Ian, last I checked with Crestron I was told their modules were coming end of October, so hopefully any day. ?Some features like start/stop presentation and wake are really easy.
