Re: CEC Rant (WAS: Panasonic TH-42PF30U CEC control - vieraLink)

CEC Rant (WAS: Panasonic TH-42PF30U CEC control - vieraLink)
It's amazing to me how companies/people refuse to look at successes in history. The CE industry continually does this - agrees on a standard, which then each manufacturer rolls their own version so

Re: Suggestions for an IP controlled Blu Ray
Combine an Oppo BDP-93 or BDP-95 with a TCP/IP to serial converter (such as a Moxa NPort 5110) and you've got a Bluray player with an excellent control protocol with IP control. The BDP-95 also has

Just remember that fast start needs to be enabled in the menu in order to turn the device on via IP. Unfortunately this doesn't work after a power cut so you may need to add an IR just for start up.

Re: Suggestions for an IP controlled Blu Ray
This is a tricky one. I'm a huge fan of Oppo Blu-ray players. Not the cheapest, but they have higher reliability than say, Samsung. The BDP-83/93 I2P module is fantastic, but it isn't IP. I've been
