be join 51/id 10 and Source-2 KP-1 would be join 101/id 10. I only use different RF ID's for Zone commands. This allows for you to use the search and replace feature in Integration Designer. The range is pretty far, so I have not needed more than 1 gateway. I talked with TB about multiple gateways. Multiple gateways only act as antenna array. The net id of the gateways is really only identification on the cresnet network. Any gateway will respond and repeat any RF ID that it sees. If I was given misinformation please correct me. This would fit in with the use of crosspoint routing in the system. If you had another remote, it would be using a new RF ID. Or using the trick that I think Tony had, you would use a different set of joins using the same RF ID. Chris -----Original Message-----

keypad emulation, and I prefer working with them. I have noticed a tendency for Crestron systems communicating with an HAI to lock up. This appears to be due to processor overload on medium to large systems. Easily resolved by using a QM-RMC as a stand alone processor for the security system. Having said that, and adding that I've never tried the keypad emulation for the "FBP," a number of the integrators I program for use "BP" panels exclusively. I've managed to write a series of modules that works very well, and while it isn't strictly speaking keypad emulation its close enough that the clients don't seem to notice. Most of the information exists in the protocol so that you can scroll through open zones and such on the touch panels, so that it looks like "keypad emulation." I guess the point that I making is that the Ademco works well enough, if you work within certain boundaries. Luke --- In Crestron@..., "ediablo80" <ediablo8084@...> wrote:

the suggestions i got did not get the look i wanted. After hearing back from TB, i was told that there is not much i can do change the placement of parameters. And one thing i did not think about which they told me, if i really wanted the symbol to look a certain way, i need to wrap my module into a user module where i can shape it how i want in the argument definition.
I did just that and it's just how i want now. Thanks Guys for the replies! Very much appreciated ________________________________ From: maxpower68 <maxpower68@...> To: Crestron@... Maybe you could think about using more crosspoint connections, think
about the destinations as equipment crosspoints rather than the sources themselves. When you connect your TP to the destinations, the source selections as 21 presses to an 'after the crosspoint' init / equate scenario would do all your routing for you rather than a bunch of steppers. Maybe more work up front, but adding another display or source would be rather easy compared to your other alternative. wrote: selections to an analog value or values -- I don't know enough about your architecture to select a specific method, and plus a guy has to keep some tricks up his sleeve. So it is definitely confirmed that adding motion sensors to the
system will lock it up? The INITIALIZE input on the keypad emulation module does a good job of refreshing the two line text and feedback. I have been working with Crestron for the past few weeks to get this resolved. 3 or 4 separate sites have an FBP system running all with the same symptoms and I'm being thrown on wild goose chases checking wires, loading demo programs, and burning bridges with my alarm integrators. I should be getting an Ademco test unit in my office here to play around with. I am looking forward to seeing what happens. Thanks for the heads up. Re: Lots of sources-- would like some advice
Eeek! (and you're welcome ;) )
My advice would be to try to find a way to reduce the source selections to an analog value or values -- I don't know enough about your architecture to select a specific method, and plus a guy has to keep some tricks up his sleeve. Use the analog(s) to deal with the signal routing [e.g. analog into ATOS to build the routing string for each matrix output] and group sources by input types (e.g. VGA sources, Composite sources, etc) and at most you're dealing with a handful of steppers e.g Select PC1: 1) Initialize analog(s) for matrix(ies) and and send serial routing command based on the new analog value 2) Goes into OR for any PC source which kicks off Stepper for "any VGA input" There are a bunch of ways to deal with this, some (my personal favorites) can do input selection, room power, and matrix routing kicking everything off with a single analog (which makes room combining REALLY easy ;) ) Lincoln ________________________________________ From: Crestron@... Subject: [Crestron] Lots of sources-- would like some advice Been playing around on paper with a system that I have to work on soon. Its going to be 21 video sources that will be routable to any of 8 tvs. There are a few different matrix switchers involved, fyi. I am pretty sure that I am going to need 168 steppers to move each switcher to the right position. I am just confused on the best way to trigger each stepper. I am going to use two different crosspoints--1 for the room and 1 for the actual source (Thank you very much LKC, your advice is appreciated more than you would believe) Should I just interlock the rooms and the sources and use buffers to hit the correct stepper? It kind of feels like a waste to go through that since I am already going to be using crosspoints. Would analog equates using the equipment ID#s make any sense? If I came out of the room analog equate into the enable line of 8 buffers, I could then put the 21 different sources into each of the buffers using the analog equate outputs for the sources. So in total, I am looking at 2 crosspoints ---> 2 analog equates ---> 8 buffers of 21 inputs ---> 168 steppers ------------------------------------ Check out the Files area for useful modules, documents, and drivers. Re: Batteries on TPMC8X
Joe Tandy
The batteries don't work simultaneously, they work one after the other. Meaning when the first battery is exhausted (battery gauge at half), it goes to the second one (battery gauge empty). If the internal is always dead, your battery meter will only show half full. Aside from that all I know is that my kids toys tell me not to mix old and new batteries :)

Re: CEN-RGBHV8X8
Chip Moody
Don't let all the options overwhelm you. If you're just trying to
route signals, it's really straightforward. With Extron, you're used to triggering a string like I*O! to route input "I" to output "O" with both audio and video. With the CEN-RGBHV, instead of triggering strings, you're using INITs to generate analogs. If you have digital signal that goes high to represent "I want to route input 3 to output 5", attach that signal to an INIT, which in turn feeds the output 5 analog signal on the router's symbol. Make that signal on the INIT set the analog value to 3, and you're done. You can either attach that analog signal to both V and A inputs on the symbol, or I believe there's a digital input you can latch high that will force audio to follow video. - Chip --- In Crestron@..., "Andy Maxey" <andy@...> wrote: surprised when I saw the available options. TPMC 17 CH booting in wrong resolution
Hey guys, I have a TPMC17CH that is booting into 1024 x 768
resolution, instead of 1280 x 768 like it's supposed to. I've tried to reload the firmware, but it won't take it (simply errors out). In Setup, the display resolution doesn't show up like on a normal panel. Is there some weird hidden file that got reset in the unit? The panel sure isn't very usable when it's only displaying about 2/3 of the width. Hopefully somebody has seen this before. Thanks in advance, Chuck |
