Re: Crestron Tstat manual lock out???
I would assume that's what the "Front Panel Lockout" on Slot 5 of the Cresnet symbol is for... I've never used it that way (I rather like using the hard buttons on my TSTAT at home) but the Help supports that assumption

Does anyone know if there is a way to lock out the manual control (front panel buttons) of a Crestron tstat and only have control from a TP. I asked that question about a year ago and was told the is NOT a way to do that.

no +24 v -24 volt )You're connecting your cresnet ground line to one side of your furnace control wiring? The last thing in the universe you should to to a TSTAT is connect Cresnet anywhere directly to your furnace. Regardless of brand. Anything with a compressor in it (AC or heat pump) relies on the thermostat to provide a delay timer after the last demand to protect the compressor from rotor lockup. If you have your Cresnet power on a UPS, the thermostat won't be able to sense a power interruption. Secondly, in the US, most hvac systems rely on 18-24v AC transformers to to interface to the thermostat. Furnaces don't have very good noise and surge protection. Connecting Cresnet ground to one side of an AC transformer is asking for intermittent problems. The ONLY way to safely and reliably mitigate not enough wires in the thermostat cable is to use add a simple 18-24v ac transformer, plugged into a normal AC outlet, supplying ac between C and Rs, and hope that when there is a power failure, this transformer goes down too. |

Re: Sony DVP-NS425 IR File
Hi Richard,
I have the same problem with my Sony DVD at home. The solution for me (and if anyone has a better one, please tell me!) was to run each of the nav buttons through a one-shot with a time of 1t. I do something a bit more than that to enable the press and hold behaviour, but that was the only way I could limit the nav movement to single items! Hope that helps, Ol --- In Crestron@..., "Richard Leek" <leek.richard@...> wrote:

You can change it after learning, very handy.

Re: Thermostat CHV-TSTAT
u cannot know the real voltage of the relay if u didnot open the
internal cover of the thermostat i will try to explain the causes: - maybe the main voltage is 24 vc dv maybe its going to resistance and from resistance to diode zener (the value of stabilation of zener in this methode is according to the voltage of the relay). - other case maybe they r using volyage divider (2 resistance in series and (voltage factor over 2). -maybe they r using 7805 regulator if the voltage of the relay isw 5 volt,or 7812 regulator with 3 pin loking like transistor (if the coil voltage is 12 v). |
Re: Thermostat CHV-TSTAT
Uh, I'm slow today. Sorry.
TSTATs are powered by the furnace wiring between the R and C. It isn't necessarily the contact rating. My guess it is the limitation of the voltage you can apply to the R terminals and not torch the tstat. If you stay below Crestron's voltage guidelines (AC or DC), you should be fine. |
