Re: DMPS3-4K-350-C and AUTH

I have nothing to help here, other than I need pictures of this interface. That sounds awesome!

DMPS3-4K-350-C and AUTH

Hello hive mind,? can anyone confirm if AUTH requirements can still be disabled on a new DMPS-4K-350-C?? I have a very high end boardroom that we did an eon ago that is using a third party control interface integrated with their building management system.? Its essentially a version of CommandFusion with a very custom UI designed to look like LCARS (from StarTrek) if anyone remembers them.? Their DM finally died after forever and I would really really prefer to just sell them a new one and swap it out for the old one and be a hero with minimal drama.? These are still 3Series if I'm not mistaken?? We actually have a few of the scenarios out there and I still wish there was a magic command to disable it of 4Series...just sayin.

Re: TSW - Console command for weather app

Man, bless you guys for still attempting to use that thing.? It's just become too unstable to roll out anymore for us.? Too many support calls for something so simple and someone can just use their phone in .5 seconds to check anyways.

Re: TSW - Console command for weather app

I've never heard of such a command, but can see where it might be useful ?

I've actually been battling the Weather App and Widget for several months at various sites. It seems to randomly stop working on some panels, while still working on others. I have one site with several TSW-1060s, running the same vtz, same firmware, and the same network settings - weather works on one of them, but not on the other six. Another project has a mix of 1060s and 1070s, with weather working on some, but not others.

I'm never at the sites long enough to spend a few hours troubleshooting, but I've done all the "basic" stuff like changing the location from Zip Code to Lat/Lon, deleting/re-adding the objects then recompiling, updating firmware, even Initializing and Restoring. Once in a while, one of those steps would work, but it's far from consistent - then I'm out of time and have to go.

I finally opened a case with TB, and of course they couldn't duplicate the issue. However, they did give me a nudge by creating a new VtPro project with a single page containing both versions of the Weather App, and a Weather Widget. I wasn't on-site so I loaded it to one of my TSW-1052s at home, and it immediately worked!

I stripped my running VtPro project down to a single page with the Weather App and Weather Widget - the app worked, but the widget DIDN'T. After an hour or so of screwing around with different settings, I discovered that if I pressed the Gear icon on the Weather App then selected a new (or the same) location, that would cause the widget to start working.

This "could" be a solution to the problem, except for two things...

#1 - On some panels, both the widget and app will stop working. Without the app working, the above step can't be performed.
#2 - Even if the app is working, the above step would have to be performed on EACH affected panel. Not a big deal on sites with only a few panels, but it could be very annoying on others.

So, if such a command exists it could be very useful.

For now, I've added Enable joins to enable the App a second after flipping to the Weather page, and disable the Widget (which is in the header, and displayed on all pages) when on the Weather page. My thought (hope) is that enabling and disabling the objects might "kickstart" them into working, if they're not already. I only did that last night, and the weather was already working from earlier troubleshooting. There hasn't been enough time to see if it's a fix at my house, and I haven't been to one of the trouble sites to try it yet.

TSW - Console command for weather app

Hi All,
Does anyone remember the console command to *refresh* the Weather app. i.e. change the default based on the VTP zip code??
TIA!

Re: New Version of Crestron-Hubitat Integration Driver

Exactly.? The code wasn't designed for this.? However, I think you could tie a physical device on the Crestron system to the state of a Hubitat virtual device.? Then by changing the state of the virtual device on the Hubitat system it would trigger actions on the physical device connected to the Crestron system.?

This methodology is sort of used to trigger actions on an Alexa device using a virtual contact sensor on the Hubitat.? I use this to trigger voice announcements in my home based on events on the Crestron system.

Hope this helps

@gbnet.?
For digital, you can create virtual switches in Hubitat, which Cretston can then toggle. Might be able to do similar for analog with virtual dimmer for 0-100% analog, but haven't done it (I can try if you really need the answer).?
?
Of course Jay will know better.?

Thanks for this Jay,
?
I am about to start using the hubitat.? I can see that your excellent integration exposes devices in the hubitat for crestron to see and use.?? I am wondering if the reverse happens to.? Can you expose something that the crestron processeor is controlling and see and use it in the hubitat?
?
Thanks

Downloaded from manufacturer's site. It's still kinda crappy, but I fixed it so it doesn't poll incessantly to keep the connection alive (apparently you were supposed to hold INIT high). Now you just pulse INIT and it'll establish the TCP connection as needed when other commands are sent. I also added a little help documentation, since there was none.

NAX/AES67 Streams disappearing from some NVX devices

We have over 60 NVX endpoints installed in a building and a few weeks ago the audio streams stopped working on the NVX-351 and NVX-360 units, but still work on the E20 units. Video streams still work on all the units, but the audio streams just disappear from the stream list in Q-SYS Designer (the cores do the audio routing and processing for the building). If we subscribe to video and audio on a decoder connected to a TV via HDMI there is video but no audio as well. A reboot brings the stream back for 3-5 minutes and then poof! Gone again. IGMP snooping is enabled on all the switches, as is QoS, and no changes were made recently on the network configuration or other devices, so we're all a little baffled.

Re: Crestron GO - "Connecting to System"

In iOS and iPadOS CrestronGo doesn’t present itself to be enabled for Background App Refresh, sadly.

Maybe go into device battery settings and allow it to run in background?

Battery powered smart home devices are both great and terrible.? They remove the need for ugly "wall-wart" power supplies but the batteries are bound to fail at the most inconvenient time possible.? WePower is working to change all this with the development of energy harvesting technology that eliminates the need for batteries in many smart home devices.?

My latest article looks into WePower's technology and how smart home device manufacturers can leverage it in their products.? You can find the article here:

Let me add that I've just started working with a product that will be an alternative to the Sensibo.? I'm in the process of talking to the company about some features and waiting for some product updates so it isn't anything I can discuss at this time.? However, I just wanted to throw this out in case it turns out that the integration is terminally broken.? I'm working towards have an article out in a few months.

Thanks

At least they might be able to tell you if they changed anything on their end with a firmware update.?

The strange thing is that I have updated nothing. ? I haven’t touched the code or firmware in the cp3 ( yes not a cp4). The certificate on the cp3 is self signed and has an expiry date of 2074. ?

I am wondering if the sensibo has updated its firmware automatically and has an issue with the self signed crestron certificate.?

I’m also trying to work out if the error message is a result of the sensibo not liking the certificate in the crestron cp3 or if it’s a result of the crestron cp3 not liking the certificate on the sensibo. ??

There's some issues with HomeKit, DSC, etc. that these newer FWs break related I think to certificate management.
I don't use these interfaces but I'm sure if I updated my CP4's it would break something that they haven't identified, and maybe this is your issue...
