I've never heard of such a command, but can see where it might be useful ?

I've actually been battling the Weather App and Widget for several months at various sites. It seems to randomly stop working on some panels, while still working on others. I have one site with several TSW-1060s, running the same vtz, same firmware, and the same network settings - weather works on one of them, but not on the other six. Another project has a mix of 1060s and 1070s, with weather working on some, but not others. I'm never at the sites long enough to spend a few hours troubleshooting, but I've done all the "basic" stuff like changing the location from Zip Code to Lat/Lon, deleting/re-adding the objects then recompiling, updating firmware, even Initializing and Restoring. Once in a while, one of those steps would work, but it's far from consistent - then I'm out of time and have to go. I finally opened a case with TB, and of course they couldn't duplicate the issue. However, they did give me a nudge by creating a new VtPro project with a single page containing both versions of the Weather App, and a Weather Widget. I wasn't on-site so I loaded it to one of my TSW-1052s at home, and it immediately worked! I stripped my running VtPro project down to a single page with the Weather App and Weather Widget - the app worked, but the widget DIDN'T. After an hour or so of screwing around with different settings, I discovered that if I pressed the Gear icon on the Weather App then selected a new (or the same) location, that would cause the widget to start working. This "could" be a solution to the problem, except for two things... #1 - On some panels, both the widget and app will stop working. Without the app working, the above step can't be performed. #2 - Even if the app is working, the above step would have to be performed on EACH affected panel. Not a big deal on sites with only a few panels, but it could be very annoying on others. So, if such a command exists it could be very useful. For now, I've added Enable joins to enable the App a second after flipping to the Weather page, and disable the Widget (which is in the header, and displayed on all pages) when on the Weather page. My thought (hope) is that enabling and disabling the objects might "kickstart" them into working, if they're not already. I only did that last night, and the weather was already working from earlier troubleshooting. There hasn't been enough time to see if it's a fix at my house, and I haven't been to one of the trouble sites to try it yet. --- On Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 9:08 AM, Chris Kangis wrote: |
