On the subject of DMX, anyone have any recommendations for a DMX controlled simple relay (or several) for switching some 24v garden lights?? I have some pwm dmx dimmers but they don't seem to want to play nice with these particular lights.??

The real tests in any multicast deployment is not the number of outputs but rather the number of inputs (and number of switches and the handling of multicast between them) ¨C in theory a completely unmanaged switch should be able to do 1:HowEvermanyPortsTheSwitchHas-1 (Not that I would suggest this). On the other hand, a 3:1, generally, would present a higher load to the switch because the switch still has to receive and process the traffic from all three encoders even if it doesn¡¯t get forwarded anywhere.

I have it running at my house as a test and it seems to be doing great so far. No issues to report as of yet. Doesn¡¯t seem to break a sweat handling 1 input to 3 simultaneous outputs. I¡¯m running it on a 48 pro Poe.?

Anyone test this to see it working and beneficial like the netgear av line?

Re: iPad Crestron Go app spinning and showing connecting to system but not connect to CP3

Dear All,

The problem is?solved.
Ipad issue with network.
me and my senior had done every possible way.
but we found out the iPad connected to the wifi access point is not?working.
we restart the iPad only connecting to CP3 is successful.
but it's still strange why this happens.?

thank you for your reply and support?

thanks?

If so, it's probably just an issue with pulling down the graphics file... If not, it's probably a App setting issue or network/VLan issue...
BTW, Did you load the VTP graphics file to the processor? or are you loading the graphics locally to the ipad? This will matter based on a number of things...

Re: Screen up/down on a single relay.

Oh my god.? After reading this, I'll have nightmares tonight.? My very first attempt at anything with Crestron was probably 25 years ago and it was to create a variable mask screen for a CRT projector.? Heck, how hard can it be with no Crestron training?? I'm more a hardware guy.? Building the screen and motorized mask was fun but that's where it ended.? I failed big time trying to control it with a touch screen.? Lost the bet with the guy who gave me the software to get started.? The bet,? you won't have it working in a month with no help.? I lost.

Re: Screen up/down on a single relay.

Sounds like a programmable / multifunction relay. Not that uncommon.

Re: UniFi adds Crestron Pro AV support

Edited

Not seeing that on the Pro Max switch for some reason.
?
?Edit: Never mind. Just noticed switch wasn¡¯t on the EA 7.1 firmware as required fit this feature.

Re: UniFi adds Crestron Pro AV support

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Haven¡¯t played much with it other than adding just a couple of Dante pieces on the network and testing that.? Going to be pulling my Pakedge switch and dumping about 18 NVX endpoints over to the Unifi side and seeing what it will or won¡¯t do.? Should be interesting to say the least.

Re: DMX Controller Control for Small Project

Works great for me using?Crestron's SACN?SenderDirectSockets.? Port should be default 5568.? On the ODE, Port Type should be Output (DMX OUT), protocol sACN, and universe?number has to match what's set on the Crestron module.? Analog values are 0 to 255 - don't try to send a percentage.

Okie, then its a totally different game.

I have been using Enttec ODE MK2 a few times to control front lights and so. Very basic and easy stuff.

To create chases and such stuff, you need to create our own in Crestron, sending DMX values, it takes little bit more time programming vise, but its doable. If you know S+ or S#, you could create your own module to do that for you, if not ¨C use CueServer or similar. I know it cost a lot, but it¡¯s very easy if you want to record DMX streams for example, and create something with a light controller.

A lot of lamps have build in effects that might be good enough, then will it be easy to use Enttec ODE MK3, just send that value that trigger that effect you want.

BUT, I had issue with the built in sACN modul in simpl windows, it didn¡¯t work with my Serie4 processor ¨C but I found a module that did.

I'll be controlling AV with Crestron as well.
So, for example, when the push a button "Party", the music turns on, projector screen comes down with graphic visuals, and lights go to a particular preset with multi colors, chasing, etc.

Re: Screen up/down on a single relay.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Short answer is Yes. ?It seems that the screen control still works, since you describe the thing moving up and also moving down.

I think the more important question is why are you asking? ?Are you trying to modify the system without having the original source code? ?Very old programs would typically not be running on a PRO4, was that a typo?

Generally in older systems there was an external box called a Low Voltage Control that is connected to the screen motor. ?These came with various triggering options, and sometimes integrators would roll their own, so to speak, in order to save money as LVC's were once considered a bit pricey. ?There is also a method using a "trigger", usually 12VDC, so when DC is applied the screen comes down and when DC is removed the screen goes up, but this is usually controlled by a single relay switching DC with a maintained closure (or by plugging in to a "trigger" port on a receiver or projector). ?Does it move on the first relay pulse or on the second?

There is only one way to figure out what the actual control is comprised of, follow the wires, look at the screen end first and see if there is some box or module above the ceiling. ?The relay on Crestron is low-voltage only, so there must be something between the relay and the screen motor. ?If you are lucky you will find it and it will have a manufacturers name and part number on it.

What I see is when I press a "screen" button on touchpanel the projector moves up and when I press it again it moves down. What I noticed in the debugger is that when the button is pressed on the touchpanel, the relay is pulsed twice within gap of 2 seconds. Same relay is pulsed for both screen operation i.e up/down. The motor is connected to processor PRO4 relay 1

Screen is da-lite tensioned advantage series.

I have not, but Crestron documents the supported MIBs here:?

I'm not really sure what kind of useful metrics this machine can provide.? That's why I wanted to start with a broad snmpwalk for OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.3212.? Perhaps if I knew what I was looking for I could target specific OIDs instead.

Re: Screen up/down on a single relay.

Even if there is not recommended, as someone said before, you can achieve with a SPDT relay, the two electrical signals to the screen. The relay is always in a physical maintained position either in ¡°up¡± or ¡°down¡± position, but it can be controlled that way .

?

Another way to do it, is with a physical set of a ¡°set/reset latch logic symbol¡± but using two spdt electric relays.? The first one will be activated in a normally open ¡°NO¡± state, and the second one will be activated in a Normally Closed ¡°NC¡±. Both relays are triggered from the same signal..

?

Again, not desirable, but achievable.

The only way I can see this *working* is if the screen is looking for a toggle (each press reverses the direction), which would be horrible, IMO!

I'm sure that Da-Lite can provide an interface that would give you discrete inputs for control, but that would require 2-3 relays...

You also mentioned the Projector - Are both the screen and a projector lift being controlled by the same relay?
This seems like something that I would require the client to let me *Fix* it!!!...
