I'm picking away at errors associated with this upgrade.? Nothing wrong with the old Pro2 but I miss having working weather.? Did a factory reset and worked through all the additional security issues that the Pro2 did not require.? After correcting everything, I clear the errors and all looks great.? However, the second I close out Toolbox, I generate a warning and notice that the IP address of this PC that I'm running Toolbox on has disconnected and the MSG led comes back on.

How do I stop this from popping up?

I subscribed to the daily digest, so it's just one email per day. With a quick scan, I can see if there's anything new I should look at, or if any old threads that I've been a part of have new activity. It's not quite what you're asking about, but it works for me and is way better than getting all the emails.

I might add that many times I do not have issues with VPNs on T-Mobile connecting to my system at home (Yes I still use Mobile G -- if it works why fix it).?? But where I do have issues is:
1) In rural areas.? T-mobile (formally Sprint) has always had good coverage along major roadways and most areas of cities.? But get off the beaten path, you are better off with Verizon and ATT.
2) In high end sections of town with local home owner associations that have blocked putting up cell towers.
3) II very hilly areas where it is hard for cell towers to get good coverage.

Bare in mind that cell companies are constantly upgrading their systems and removing older technologies such as CDMA, 3G, and LTE.? I've had to replace my security system's cell backup 3 times because the services they use have been removed from the cell tower.? I should note that I can see my cell tower at a distance out my front window at home.? For years I had very good cell service at my house.? Then a few years ago during the hype about 5G it become spotty were I had to use WiFi calling.? Now it is good again with the same phone.

I can appreciate that Geoff.? I've just gotten spoiled with being able to tag people and get notified when there is activity on a thread that I participated in.? I appreciate what you and Tony have done here.? If you run across a way to do either of those things and it's not a lot of work, I would appreciate it.? Thanks!

I can connect to an RMC4 with the Crestron Go app via VPN over a 5G T-Mobile cellular network.? I don't have any Crestron installations that I can test that are not VPN.? However, I did try this yesterday on a Vantage system where I tried to connect remotely to a system where port forwarding was in place and I could not get it to work over a celluar connection but when connected from a remote wifi network, it worked fine.? Definitely something fishy here.

Correct, connecting USB to Crestron in Parallels on an Apple Silicon Mac has never worked and I would not bet money that it ever will.? Crestron has known about this issue for a long time and it is still broken.? Some may say that you could use the UTM hypervisor in place of Parallels but UTM is slow (due to Windows emulation) and not as easy to setup.? If USB connectivity is a requirement then you would need to also carry either a Windows or Linux laptop.? The USB passthrough on all of the Linux hypervisors that I have tested work fine with Crestron.

I have an old TMPC-4SMD and I can’t seem to get a font size larger than 100 or 200 (I can’t tell which at the moment). I’m repurposing this touch panel as an alarm clock, and I wanted to show text with a larger font. In VT, the font size looks great at 300 and practically fills the page, but the biggest I can get is 100. The help hints in VT say that the font size ranges from 8 to 4000 (I think, I’ll have to check that).?

Any ideas why I can’t use a larger font size? I’ve updated smart graphics on my computer and the firmware on the device

Has anyone else had issues with UC-Engines? Seems like I'm doing 1 a week at this rate. All types of models too, ASUS, Dell, Skull Canyon etc. Seems like the fix for everything is a re-image but it's happening very regularly.?

No issue with T-mobile service, VPN to home, using both old and new Crestron app, but on Android.?

It works well, Issue a device mode change and set a flag to reboot then poll the device mode feedback. Takes around two minutes. Our use case was for an events team to have a number of NXV's at the back of the room and set them up in advance as encoders or decoders so they could either take room feeds into a tricaster (decoder mode) for broadcasting or introduce feeds (encoder) and manage the room experience from the back of the room, these would typically feed NVXs on the inputs of big Corrio GPU which Inturn fed a large multi-source LED wall. Once you change the 363 mode, rebooted it configured the touch panel to display the appropriate units in the engineering panel matrix buy means of visibility joins. So it was all automated but you wouldn't want to do this on the fly in a lecture for example. Nobody wants to see a progress bar etc!

Though, I have to say I have not had issues with this until just the last 8-10 days - i.e. something has changed.
Also, re: bandwidth for the app, I don't see it even connect to the processor, which is very low bandwidth so it never gets to pulling the VT file from the processor (Hi Bandwidth)...
Also Also, camera apps like Luma (connecting via the local net thru VPN) still work fine, which I would would think that this uses nore BW than Crestron...

Possible reasons

1) 2N or your CP3 is using port 50001 for something else.?

2)? Log into the 2N station and go to "Services>HTTP API" and make sure the service you are trying to use is set to Unsecure (TCP) and Authentication is set to none.

I've seen this all the time with apps and web browsers cannot connect via VPN but connections like SSH do work when connected to hot spot on my phone (also T-Mobile).? I figure it is a bandwidth issues. I know the Crestron Home craps out if there is not enough bandwidth or latency issues. I am sure the Crestron App is the same.? You might try pinging the Crestron processor and running a internet speed test via the vpn on the mobile network.? It will probably land up that both pings are slow and erratic and the bandwidth is poor.

Hi all, I am really struggling to get this to work.

I have the Action pointed to the IP address of the CP3. Just xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx but no port.? The event is Motion at the Doorstation.

I have a TCP/IP Server with IP address 0.0.0.0.? Using standard Port 80.
they are not connecting so I cannot receive the event in the CP3.? Should there be different ports set.

I tried xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:50001 in the 2N settings and the same port on the CP3 but again no connection.? Status remains at 1d and ConnectF stays low.

I m sure I am missing something simple but any help appreciated.

Here's a weird issue that I've come across over the last week or so using my iPhone 14 (v17.3.1).?
While connected ONLY via the T-Mobile cell network (New England), known working VPNs will still connect to sites, but the Crestron App will not connect. The processor doesn't even see the IP-ID connections.
If I'm remote (or local) on a Local network/wifi system, I can connect to remote sites normally...? The main variable seems tp be T-Mobile.

has anyone else seen this??

I figured it out in case anyone else needs to change the server name / hostname on a VC-4 install.

Log into the AlmaLinux OS, go to "Settings", select the "Sharing" button and change the "Computer Name" to the desired name for VC-4. Restart the VC-4 service and it will update the server / hostname accordingly.

I came back to groups.io today from a long hiatus because I was having issue that I needed some help with.? I have been using the various Crestron Facebook groups and Discord servers for years.? A feature that I use all the time in both FB and Discord is tagging people.? I can put an @Somebodys-Name in a post and that person gets notified and directed to the post.? I tried tagging people here on groups.io and it doesn't appear to do anything.? Is there a way to tag people here so that they get notified?? Also, is there a way to setup my profile here on groups.io so that I get notified when someone posts to a message that I either originally entered or participated in?? If there features are not available in groups.io, has anyone looked into the possibility of migrating to a more modern platform that supports features like tagging people and getting notified when someone responds to one of your posts???
