TS-770 How to go back to User Project after launching Sonos app
Hi,
I'm launching the Sonos app on a TS-770 using join?28511 and that works great, but once the panel goes to the Sonos app there is no way (that I can find at least) to go back to my VTPro project. Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards,? EQ |
Re: SG on Crestron app - scaling issues
I've never found a way around this. I don't think you're missing anything. Whenever I "save as" a new interface type/resolution I always have to go through the project and touch mostly the text. We use a lot of dynamic lists so I'm very familiar with what you're experiencing. I will say that it's been a whole lot better in the last couple years-ish than it used to be.

Re: UC Engine reliability
Recently did an install and the client had complaints about getting disconnect messages on the touchpanel daily.? Didn't help that this was the CEO's boardroom either.? Crestron had me run a driver update on the Flex PC (CCS-400_1.14.00.155.exe) and update the TS-1070 panel to the latest firmware.? I also had to remove the PUF saved on the Flex PC for the TS-1070 so that it wouldn't downgrade on its own.? That seemed to make the disconnect messages go away, at least for 2 weeks so far.
I was told that the chipset used in the direct connect adapter has poor driver support in Windows 11, and that's why there seem to be so many problems.? We moved to using direct connect since we used to have so many issues going over the network, but now it seems like network has become more reliable.? Unfortunately, our only option in this case was direct connect because of the client network. Kiel |
SG on Crestron app - scaling issues
i have SG on an XPanel, tablet & mobile
i am fighting with the scaling on the Crestron App some lists are fine, but others, especially on mobile i have to change the dimensions & text size to get it big enough to use i pick iPhone 5 for resolution, but have tried the actual dimensions of the phone, but it doesn't change anything am i missing something? tablet is the same, i have a dynamic button list, but unless a make the text HUGE in VTPro, it is too small on the tablet. background is OK, just the buttons are too small i can't keep spending hours going through every page and making it look right |
Re: Philips Hue Ramping trouble - Ultamation
Thanks for the response. I checked my various filter folders and could not find your email. But my company is constantly fortifying our email filtering so it is probably on our end.
The rate limitation would be a great thing to mention in the help file. One of the reasons I pay for modules is to not have to research the API. But now that I have, this call sure looks like it could be what I am looking for: dimming_delta:?(object)
I'll try slowing down the commands to 1s to see if I can get an acceptable ramp time. But even if so, it seems like my vision of an amber-shift while press-and-hold dimming that mimics incandescent probably is not possible. Shame. |
Cisco Webex Room Kit Stops Responding to Com via RS-232.......
Cisco Webex Room Kit -
Has anyone experienced these units stop responding to com via RS-232?? (115200 baud via usb adapter, have tried 2 adapters, both same model we typically use for these units)
?
I have a tech on-site at a facility where I cannot lay my eyes on what is happening.
?
FYI - not using a module, just communicating with strings back and forth and have implemented a polling sequence every 10 seconds or so (which I typically don't have to do because I usually just register for feedback, the polling is a test case and he can see the codec just stop responding when we are asking for status).
?
This is early on in the commissioning process and to my understanding we do not yet have a pattern established as to when or why the unit stops responding.
?
Any help is appreciated........
***UPDATE - updated firmware to Cisco Codec and communications on RS232 through usb dongle has stabalized |
Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article, "Review: First Alert Model ZCOMBO Z-Wave Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms in homes have saved countless lives. Integrating these alarms into a smart home can do even more for the safety the homeowners and their family. This article explores ways that safety can be improved through integration and some products for accomplishing that. You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: I've found a new site to host my blog so for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that using the link below. The process of exporting all my old content from Blogger and importing it into WordPress was far from perfect. So there are formatting issues with old posts and images that didn't import. I will see what I can do about correcting some of these issues over time. Thanks |
Re: UC Engine reliability
In almost every case I connected the touch screen directly to the same network switch as the UC-Engine.? It is normal to get occasional disconnecting messages when the UC-Engine reboots, but normally the sites I have deployed do not have any issues with this configuration.? I have done this with TSW-1060 panels and newer panels.? I always keep the adapters and reuse them elsewhere.

Re: Philips Hue Ramping trouble - Ultamation
Hi Kevin,
Could you check your spam folder, as we replied to this on the same day you submitted a ticket - 6th Nov. I've copied the reply below: --- Hi Kevin, Thank you for using our modules. From what you¡¯ve described it sounds like you¡¯re hitting the limitations on commands. The Philips Hue developers website mentions the following in regard to this: ¡°We can¡¯t send commands to the lights too fast. If you stick to around 10 commands per second to the It¡¯s also worth noting that whilst our module accepts brightness, saturation, and hue values in the range 0-65535, these are converted to a value in the range 0-100 which are then sent to the bridge. Kind regards, Ultamation |
Philips Hue Ramping trouble - Ultamation
I am replacing some traditional dimmers where the user can press-and-hold to fade up or down until the desired level is reached, then the user releases to stop the fade. Usually achieved with an Analog Ramp symbol. When connecting the Ramp output to the Brightness input of the Ultamation module, the transition on the bulb is very choppy.?
?
I have experimented with the?fade time, and I can get it to be a little?better but still noticeable visible steps. I tried to increase the fade time to smooth it out more, but with a fade value high enough to smooth out the steps, there is a significant lag between when the user lifts the button and the light stops ramping, resulting in overshoot. Thinking the?module and/or the Hue was overloaded with many many analog value changes (16-bit range) I tried replacing the ramp with an increment which jumps the brightness?by 2000d or so, with varying time intervals between .1s and 1s, with similar results.
?
This is a very basic lighting operation. Am I missing something?
?
Also, I am attempting to emulate the amber shift when dimming incandescent?bulbs. I have created a scaler tied to the brightness input that will simultaneously lower the color temperature along with the brightness and vice versa.
?
However, in all my experimentation with fade times and replacing with the analog increment I mentioned above, it appears that while the brightness is moving the?Hue will not change the color temperature. The result is a somewhat steppy fade at the same color, and when brightness?stops moving the Hue sends the new color. Very unnatural result. I sent this to support at ultamation, no response yet. Thanks for any advice. |
Re: Carrier Infinity Thermostat Control through Crestron
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI can confirm that we have discontinued development on this project, due to factors outside of our control it would not have been supportable at the standards that we require for our products ? The biggest items were difficulties obtaining developer support and, very high latency (if I am recalling correctly, an average of around 5 minutes between the time an adjustment was made on the thermostat and the time it was reflected in the API calls), the need for a recurring subscription fee, and other issues that we felt ¨C although we were on the edge of release ¨C made the product not commercially viable for us, and we felt a bad fit for our integrators. ? (I am happy to report that some of the lessons learned with OAUTH2 integration made their way into our Genie Alladin Connect/Overhead Door OHD Anywhere offering which can be found at or , ?which also has very fast feedback¡ªsometimes faster than the app itself) ? ?
