Re: Sonos muting

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I've never seen a Sonos device let alone tried to control one, but from the error log "Multicast" and "Broadcast" device discovery strongly suggest that the module is expecting to find Sonos on the same broadcast domain (i.e. subnet) as the processor?

Multicast routing between subnets/vlans is conceptually possible but I would be surprised if Sonos or the module have been tested in such a scenario... As it is one of my colleagues is battling a "foxed again, broke again, fixed again, broke again" issue with multicast on the 4-series firmware, but I believe that only affects processors with an internal router (CP4N, PRO4, AV4)

Subject: [crestron] Sonos muting
?

Hey guys,

Our customer has a simple sounding request but never having worked with Sonos before I am not sure how to accomplish this.

All they want to do is mute all Sonos players if they get an alarm in.

I have added a Sonos Device Module v3.2.0 for each Sonos.? All have the default parameters except for the player name.

On the module inputs I have only Restart and MutePlayer connected.? Every other connection is commented out.? On the outputs I have Offline connected for debugging.

What makes this extra fun is the Crestron traffic and Sonos traffic are on different VLans, but our IT group can take care of that if necessary.

If I run the code I get:

? 1. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:02:55 # CRPCConnectionHelper - Created CIP Transport for ipaddress: 192.168.69.70, port: 41798, adapterID: 0
? 2. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:02:55 # Sonos - Multicast discovery started.
? 3. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:02:55 # Sonos - The system state changed to "Connecting to Primary Device".
? 4. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:03:25 # Sonos - Discovery state changed to idle.
? 5. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:03:25 # Sonos - Multicast discovery result: no devices found.
? 6. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:03:25 # Sonos - The system connection failure reason changed to "No Devices Found".
? 7. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:03:25 # Sonos - Discovery mode changed to "broadcast".
? 8. Notice: SimplPlus[App01] # 2023-10-14 04:03:25 # Sonos - Broadcast discovery started.

In the error log.? This sounds like VLan issue.

I guess my question is am I doing this correctly, or do I need a full CRPC type connection to get this to work?? Is there an easier way?

Do I need to Restart every device or is one enough?

Thanks

Re: Sonos muting

Crestron and Sonos must be on the same network.
Simply won't work if they are not.

Not only green (like the -E variants) but IMO a particular obnoxious shade of green

Re: Samsung EX-link protocol???

Came home with a S95C last night and unboxed it.? I miss the days when you actually got a manual with these.? Considering how thin it is, was expecting it to be lighter.? It's a heavy hunk of? a TV, I'll give it that.? I'm planing to reuse the existing wall mount from the curved screen I'll be taking down but expecting to have to space it out to make room for the interface.? I'm not sure how good of a test subject I'll be for the Ex-link.? I'm only using on/off and only enough to access smart controls from a TP.? Not even using the TV's audio.? Source switching and audio is handled by the Integra AVR in the rack.? FYI, I'm still on a Pro2 at home.? If it ain't broke don't fix it.? I am kinda pissed that I lost the weather a while back but that's just a tap on a smartphone away.

Re: Sky Stream

Hi Adam,

Not got one yet, however just took delivery of 4 Stream Boxes for home so replacing Sky Q boxes and planning to play towards the end of next week.? ?Will see if current IR works and if not see if I can learn the codes.

Re: crestron Construct and its app 101

Thanks, got it working. I am guessing Construct doesn't stretch, looks like I have to make projects for every resolution available... Ufff
And I still need to figure out the license too.?
Thanks for the help

Re: Prodigy Keypads and Dimmers

Thank you guys!

Sky Stream

Hi

Has anyone got an ir file for the new Sky Stream?? My trust learner has stopped working and I need to control one via IR until Ultamation creates an IP version if that is even possible!!

Many thanks

Re: Prodigy Keypads and Dimmers

I have P-SWEX, P-DIMEX, and P-CBDEX; all are green.

Re: Prodigy Keypads and Dimmers

I'm 90+% sure that they were the green LEDs.
Crestron at/after this started selling the -E (express) and -P (Pro) versions with Green and White LEDs respectively.
The -P were more expensive, so my assumption/memory is that the prodigy was the green ones, since is was an 'entry level' package...

Re: IC Realtime NVR

Tony, also do you know how many simultaneous streams that will allow?

Re: IC Realtime NVR

Tony, how quick do the panels lock on the stream from that device?
Today I have been working on a RTSP server that will re-encode many streams to whatever I want. I am trying to find a setting that the panels will sync on very fast. So far the fastest is using MJPG, but the steamer I am working with doesn't want to encoder to that.

Re: IC Realtime NVR

It's very inconsistent. At some sites it works great, but others not so much. For troublesome projects, I've resorted to specifying a separate video encoder connected to the NVR, so the touchpanels only have to deal with a single stream or jpeg. It also allows the security installer to do whatever they want with the NVR and camera settings, without any special considerations for the Crestron panels and apps.

Although some NVR and camera brands are worse than others, I don't know of any I'd consider fool-proof, so a separate encoder greatly simplifies things and increases the likelihood of success. There are lots of similar encoders available, but I've used this one the most - .

Dealers and salespeople are often stubborn and don't want to add another "box" (that wasn't their idea) to the system, even at such a ridiculously low price, so I usually include the following statement:

"Camera Integration only includes X amount of time to troubleshoot streaming issues. Additional troubleshooting and experimentation time will be billable". That typically prompts them to do things the easy way... :-)

@tony golden were you ever able to get this to rowk correctly? Having the exact

Prodigy Keypads and Dimmers

Does anyone know if the light indicator for the Prodigy keypads and dimmers is white like EX-P models or green like the EX-E models? Mostly looking at the P-CBDEX-W-S but would be nice to know about the dimmers too. Thank you in advance.

hydrogenmanager is enabled, but also hydrogenenable is set to OFF

ENABLEFEATURE HYDROGENMANAGER ON/OFF is what enables/disables the XiO Cloud services in SSP/C# Prog0.
The XiO commands (HYDROGENENABLE, HYDROGENSTATUS, HYDROGENURL, etc.) aren't registered/recognized until the service is enabled.

The same goes for ENABLEFEATURE CLOUDCLIENT ON/OFF and Fusion Cloud / MyCrestron Residential Monitoring cmds like MYCRESTRONACTIVATION.
The same goes for ENABLEFEATURE SNMPCOMMANDPROCESSOR ON/OFF and SNMP cmds like SNMPMANAGER, SNMPACCESS, SNMPMONITOR.

If you don't plan to use the XiO service at all, using ENABLEFEATURE HYDROGENMANAGER OFF is the most thorough.
That's what's sent behind the scenes when using the checkboxes in "Functions > Device Info > Cloud Services" tab.

Re: Hydrogen Turn off on 4-series

Interesting! The HyrdogenManager command is a separate command I think only shown in the 3-series 'EnableFeature'...
Dane, How did you get that table to show?

FTR, My problem experience was using a DM RMC serial port (2-way) vs. a processor port. This site in question has all older Sammy's controlled with the same port without issue.
I've also used the 1-way control via IR ports in the past without issue...

Stefuel2, Please keep us posted about your experience as I would love to know that EX-link is reliable again!!

Re: Hydrogen Turn off on 4-series

I'm guessing that hydrogenenable and hydrogenmanager are two different things
