Re: Bond Bridge

I have one controlling a few different brands of fans plus some RF shades in the house. Jay's module works well, but I also have an ISY-994 controlling the same fans with some pretty simple commands.

This might help you out, though it's not Creston based, it's what I'm spitting out of the ISY. The only problem might be is if the fans have a discreet power off command or not. They'll usually turn on with a speed command, but of course power off will be problematic if the fan's power switch is a toggle.

PUT /v2/devices/<device #>/actions/TurnOn HTTP/1.1
Host: 192.168.2.71:80
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0
Connection: Close
Content-Type: application/json
BOND-Token: <Bond token #>
Content-Length: 2

I don't think it would be too difficult to write up a basic S+ module to control the fans, just dig into their API a bit to find the power and speed command actions.

Re: Cheap reliable power monitoring.....ya right.

We used to do this with our Generac and then Kohler. Just used a bunch of 120V DIN rail relays and then watched the inputs on the processor. ?

Subject: [crestron] Cheap reliable power monitoring.....ya right.

?

What I want to do is monitor power in a Generac automatic transfer switch.? L1 and L2 (utility power) E1 and E2 (generator power) and N1 and N2 (power out of the switch to the house). Then shoot off a text or email when E1 and E2 is hot so I know when the generator is running.? Only thread found here was 10 years old.? I know that newer generators have wifi capability but this one is older and does not.? Any suggestions.

Something like this would work into the GPIO of another device.

Re: Cisco Widgets - OS10 vs OS11

Update...I received a Codec Plus with OS11 and was able to check this myself (previously was working with a tech in the field). What I found is that, unlike 0S10, with OS11 if you have a Cisco widget on more than one panel (in this project it included both button and spinner widgets), the feedback only works on the first panel to appear. Any subsequent panels that are triggered to appear that have an identically named widget will only provide the button press from it and it will not receive feedback.

The reason I have more than one panel on the Cisco touch screen with the same widget is because this is a divisible conference room and, when divided, the divided audio control panel shown in room A does not include mic controls for mics dedicated to Room B. This is done by properly hiding and showing the panel trigger buttons based on the room mode (divided or combined).

I fixed this by creating new widgets for the second panel and dovetailing them into the same programming the widgets used in the first panel.

I am going to alert Cisco of this difference in OS10 and OS11. Hopefully they can go back to having it work like it did in OS10 with a firmware update.?

Re: Bond Bridge

I don't personally use the Bond bridge or Bond bridge pro in my own home.? However, I did write a Crestron driver for integrating them with a Crestron system including the use of Bond Sidekick keypads.

The driver is on my GitHub here:

Hope this helps

I had to do something similar for a customer that found, during a power outage, that their generator had died and hadn¡¯t been performing its weekly load test.? We just wired the coil of a relay to the generator output and the relay contacts to a digital I/o port on the processor.? Sounds like something similar should work for you.?

Hi Thorsten,

For some reason I never uploaded this version to my GitHub.? It has been so long ago that I can't remember why but we should start debugging with the latest I worked on.

Here is a link where you can download this new version.?

This is the compiled.zip of the demo program so you can extract the v1.5 s+ module along with the Sensibo_Air.clz file.? Make sure you replace your existing Sensibo_Air.clz with the new one from the compiled.zip

Now please send me the messages captured in text console as I described below along with any relevant messages that show up in the error log when the program crashes.

Thanks

Hi Thorsten,

It has been over a year since I touched that code but I'm not aware of anything that could be causing the problem you describe.? Couple of things.

1) Are you using v1.5 of the Sensibo Air Module?

2) Please change the Debug_Msg_Output parameter to "Console".? This causes the code to write all kinds of debugging information to the text console.

3) upload the program to your processor and wait for the program to enter a steady state after all the program initialization steps have completed.

4) Open up a toolbox text console window and perform the actions to duplicate the problem.

5) Copy all the messages sent to the text console window into an email and send that to me.

6) Finally, please send me any relevant information from the error log.

I've found that SimplDebugger loses lots of messages that are generated by an S# program but these are properly picked up by the text console.? Otherwise it would be simpler to simply save a log in SimplDebugger.

I'll take a look and see if I can figure out what is going on.

Thanks

Jay

Hi Thorsten,

Sensibo and Ambi Climate have products that will control an AC unit.? A few years ago I wrote drivers for them.? I haven't touched them since but I believe they are both still workable drivers.? Also, I just saw an announcement that Sensibo has added some interesting new features to their product.?

Hope this helps

Jay

Hi Jason,

main driver is actually the Netatmo ¡°Smart AC Controller¡±.

The client has an AC unit that i?m having issues getting into Crestron as it is remote controlled by a specific remote control unit (with display).

The client came across the Netatmo device and had the idea to use that as some sort of gateway between Crestron and the AC unit.

?

But for that, I need to able to communicate with Netatmo in the first place.

Doesn?t sound if there?s something readily available¡

?

Thanks,

Thorsten

I looked at writing a Netatmo integration driver a few years ago.? They use full OAUTH2 authentication protocol which makes integration with a Crestron processor problematic.? If you are looking for a weather station to integrate with I would highly recommend the WeatherFlow Tempest.? Very well designed weather station and I have just made some significant updates to the free driver on my GitHub.?

Hope this helps

Hi Jay,

?

the client purchased a Sensibo device (Air) and is successfully controlling his IR-AC using the Sensibo app.

I?ve also successfully integrated the Sensibo Air into the Crestron program running at the client?s CP4.

Your module reports a successful connection and i?m receiving feedback (e.g. target temperature).

I?m able to control the AC, setting it into cooling mode and off mode.

However, after sending just a few (three) commands, the whole program shuts down and a reboot is required. In the console window, it say Program 1 stopping¡

?

Any ideas what the issue might be here?

?

Thanks,

Thorsten

Re: S# Pro Keypads

Yes, for whatever reason Crestron never created the SSP class for the C2N-DB12. The CNX seems to work fine.

I'm not sure what you mean by an accident.? Did you delete them, or did you run the drive over with a car?? There are free undelete programs out there and other services.? Is this a mechanical drive that won't spin up?? Put it in the freezer for a few hours, I've done that many times and recovered gigabytes of data.? There are lots of methods, depending on the scenario.? Recuva and PhotoRec are good tools.? PhotoRec will work on corrupted drives.??
