Re: Poly SSH

"I'm using a workaround now, I'm using an external SSH module connected to RS232 TX/RX strings of the Poly module. "

This is probably going to be your best bet. The Crestron SSH module has gone through many revisions due to this very issue. My guess is the Group Series Driver 4.0 still uses an old version.? We ran into the same issue with the early versions of the Cisco module with the built in SSH connection.

Convert MAC to Hex for SD Image

When I look at the hex file there are 12 pairs of number in the image that represent the 12 digits of the MAC address, how do you convert across to replace the MAC address in the hex file so that I can put in the MAC address for a target failed panel?

Thanks

Re: Occupancy Sensors

Slightly hijacking this topic - has anyone seen motion or proximity sensor that fits into US 1 gang Decora, poweres by AC 120v and talks via Zwave/Zigbee/WiFi?

Re: Occupancy Sensors

The ones from Altona are a bit pricey, but are POE powered and have a well documented API with some pretty snazzy features.

Re: Crestron Home - Satellite Channel List Incorrect - Manually changing the channel numbers to match

I don't believe this is possible.

My understanding (which may well be rubbish) was that the data is provided by third party services and Crestron pass that on verbatim.? Any errors in channel names, numbers or icons come from the upstream provider.? The bizarre part of that story being that there doesn't appear to be any way for Crestron to "correct" any mistakes, or allow us to create our own custom provider files.

In short, I don't think Crestron are in a position to fix it even if they wanted to.

It is "sub-optimal".

Seems strange, does that mean then Crestrons own certified driver system that uses wake on lan doesn't work on VC4-PC-3?

XPanel Scaling Up?? (And Badly)

I'm running into an issue where an end user has a user has a Macbook with a resolution of 2560x1440.? The XPanel he's trying to run is 1810x900, I made it this size so it can run comfortably on 1920x1080 screens- typically it works very well.
On this laptop, the XPanel is scaling up and getting chopped off on the right hand side.
The original file had Project Scaling set to "Maintain Aspect", but I also tried "None" and "Center".? Essentially the same result each way.??

Thoughts on how to fix this?

Re: MC3 Image

Hi,

Sorry? to resurect an old thread. It seems I have a MC3 (ebay purchase) that has had a new image put on its SD card. Its working perfectly but the MAC address shown in Toolbox doesn't match the one on the label.
Not a problem I hear you cry! However, when I try to register it to work with Alexa, It says its already registered to another account.
So basically I want to extract the image that's on the card, edit it so it has the correct serial number and MAC address and the write the image back to the card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Gary.

Crestron Home - Satellite Channel List Incorrect - Manually changing the channel numbers to match

Hello,

Is there any possibility to manually change channel number on channel list?
My provider channel list is outdated and my client cannot use favorites lists as well.
I've tried to find any files with channels on the processor but without luck.
I've sent request to Crestron but they cannot provide me with an ETA to this bug.

Best regards

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

My latest article, "YoLink: Extending the Boundaries of Your Smart Home¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.

At first glance, you might think that YoLink is just another smart home hub.? However, what makes YoLink different is their wireless technology;? LoRa.? LoRa works at distances up to 1/4 mile.? In addition, LoRa uses very little power giving YoLink's battery operated sensors amazing battery life.? All this makes YoLink a great problem solver for integrating outbuildings, gates, and more into an overall smart home ecosystem.

You can find the article here:

For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here:

Re: CP3 and TSW1060 SD Card Size

Oem is 4. You can use larger, unlike in MC3. I recommend high endurance one.

What memory size do these take?? 8Gb?

Re: Occupancy Sensors

Try Faradite. We had used a lot of them and they work flawlessly.

Re: Occupancy Sensors

Depends on what you¡¯re trying to accomplish and how large an area to cover, but I¡¯ve made fair use of the Visonic Spy-series in my home (mostly the SPY-4 but that¡¯s largely because I thought I was ordering 1 on eBay years ago and wound up receiving a package with 20-some-of-them).

?

They¡¯re both very inconspicuous (the exposed surface of the SPY-4 is about the size of a US quarter and you can get that even smaller more discreet if you want to paint the non-lens plastic collar) and nearly silent, but I¡¯ve tended to use them more for entry/exit/population counting than true occupancy.

Re: UDP connections below port 1024 blocked on VC-4-PC-3

Using # you can declare both local and destination ports, unlike?SimplWindows/Simpl+?that forces both to be the same. # allows your local to be?statically or dynamically assigned. Hmmm, someone should write a utility module exposing this feature.
