Toolbox Debugger
Has anyone found a way to launch Debugger with:
Signal Mode: Send All Signals AND Have none of the checkboxes checked by default? The only way to have No signals checked on start seems to require selecting Signal Mode: Send only Selected Signals But this scenario eliminates all check boxes and require right-click, then 'Start Debugging selected signals', then check the boxes needed for desired signals This is VERY inefficient... Am I missing something obvious, or is there no 3rd option? TIA!! |
Re: CP4 Serial Port weirdness
Thanks, Steve! Very interesting...This is the first time in decades I can remember having this kind of problem...
The issue is definitely separate from the processor, here's add'l intel... To clarify my first post: CP4 with a Marantz AVR and APpro 4x2 HDMI matrix connected to serial ports 2+3. the issue occurs when the CP4 hard boots OR is rebooted with a console 'REBOOT' command, the Marantz and AVpro stay on... 1. the code, and serial devices, have been operating without known issue for a while 2. we rebuilt the rack with new power/network equipment this past week 3. we're having issues with the UPS that powers the whole rack (it's being replaced) so this could be the root of the issue 4. When the problem happens (its repeatable) unplugging either serial port Phoenix connector on the Processor restores operation 5. I moved the serial comm's to a Slave CP3 and the problem followed, so it would appear not to be a hardware issue with this specific CP4 We'll see if the problem persists after we replace the UPS |
Re: DMPS3-300-C not linking Cisco switch?
I had the same issue with a DMPS3-4K-150-C. When I turned on the system for the first time I had link lights on the ethernet port. After a while I lost the link lights. After talking with crestron, they told me to turn off auto-negotiate and poe on the port feeding the 4K-150. It worked! I hope this solves your problem! :)

Re: TSW760 Grandstream UCM6202 paging/group intercom
You have to create a group of extensions that you want to page in the UCM6202. You cannot call this 'group' from one of the members forming it, so you might need to create multiple groups based on which extension will be calling the others.?
Hope that helps, Otherwise let me know. |
Re: CP4 Serial Port weirdness
Sounds like you have some type of latch up issue.? It is quite common for ICs to latch up if there is current flowing into the I/O pins where the input pins are driven by a higher voltage that the ICs power supply (the CP4 power supply in this case).? What many manufacturers do is to insert a resistor in series with the input pin to limit the current flowing into the pin from an external source.? I've had to install manufacturer's EC in many products to correct for latch up issues by doing exactly this.
Usually latch only occurs when the input current exceeds a certain threshold level.? In fact some datasheets specify how much external current you can pump into an input pin when the input voltage exceeds the IC's power supply.? For example a TI SN74HC595 IC specifies a maximum input clamp current of +/-20mA.? Exceed that level and the IC may latch up. In your case, installing a 1 to 10kohm resistor in series with the RS232 inputs/outputs would probably prevent latch up.? Just bare in mind that adding a resistor, particularly on long lines with lots of line capacitance, may cause excessive signal skewing which will mess up communications.? Best to monitor with the signal with an oscilloscope to ensure the skew is not to high. |
Re: To Freelance Or Not To Freelance...
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTo follow up on what Steve said: The company that laid you off may have simply had to do so because they can't afford to have you on the payroll full time.? That doesn't mean that their Crestron work has gone away completely.? They may need help on a part time basis and, as part of helping them, would be willing to keep you listed as a programmer; which would provide you access to Crestron software and support.? Most A/V shops are a member of a buying group (HTSA, Azione, etc.).? If you have a good relationship with them then they might also be willing to introduce you to other dealers in the buying group who might also be looking for part time help.? This could be your ticket to becoming a full time CSP or simply finding a new job while doing part time work to paying the bills. At a minimum, if you left on good relations with your old
employer, they might be willing to introduce you to other
companies in their buying group to find another job.? Hope this helps Jay

CP4 Serial Port weirdness
Hi All,
We're seeing an odd issue with a CP4 and its serial ports on one site, and just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this, or if its a site-related issue... When the CP4 gets hard booted without the devices connected to the ports, the communications stop working until we disconnect and then reconnect the serial phoenix connectors!! We're looking at some power/grounding issues, but wanted to see if anyone has seen this behavior... TIA! |

Re: TSW760 Grandstream UCM6202 paging/group intercom
Yes, the Grandstream UCM6202 is the SIP server.? I have two TSW560's that I'm using for testing.? They are registered to the server and can communicate but when I setup a Page/Intercom Group all I get is a busy signal.? Hoping someone on here has experience with the UCM6202.

Re: <rant> Setting IP addresses on Processors and TouchPanels
I'm using console commands like Steve is, and I have a similar list of commands.
I've added different authorization levels for Crestron and mobile devices to my standard initialization procedures as well. We've run into issues with DHCP reservations in the past when routers go down. At least with everything set static, the entire system keeps working if the router dies. A script would be even simpler ... Brian |
Re: TSW760 Grandstream UCM6202 paging/group intercom
Do you have a SIP server there?
We integrated Grandstream phones with TSWx60 panels at an install a few years back, but we had a AVLinkPro SIP server on site. This made communication a breeze. Also, they have a great tech support team that can assist with any unfamiliar SIP server settings. Regards, Brian |
TSW760 Grandstream UCM6202 paging/group intercom
Anyone have experience with the UCM6202 and TSWx60?? I have panels registered as extensions and can call panel to panel but when I dial an extension I've setup as 1-way paging I get a busy signal. Also interested in being able to group intercom. If anyone has pointers, examples, documentation it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: DMPS3-300-C not linking Cisco switch?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIs the LED on the Cisco end amber when you aren¡¯t able to link? ? If the LED is amber, generally speaking the physical link is up but the logical link is down. There are a few main ways this can happen¡ -????????? If spanning tree portfast edge is not enabled on the port it is typical for it to take a (feels like eternal) period of time while spanning tree examines for potential loops -????????? If the port is administratively disabled (shutdown) depending on the switch platform you¡¯ll get amber or no LED -????????? If the port is error disabled for one of a variety of causes including o?? BPDU guard if the DMPS leaked BPDU packets back to the switch port and guard is enabled o?? MAC security ¨C if the DMPS leaked an additional MAC address or a different MAC address than has been configured for the port (you can configure a port to only allow ¡°x¡± number of MAC addresses at a time and to learn the MAC addresses, or to only allow a specific MAC addresses. Depending on the port security configuration violations will either drop traffic for unauthorized MACs or shut the port down. o?? Spanning tree violations ? Really your best course of action is to either review the log on the switch if you have access or ask whomever has control to review the log. ¡°term mon¡± when connected to the switch can be useful for live troubleshooting as well. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? I believe there are significant fees involved with becoming a CSP and of course there are all the other things you have to deal with such as bookkeeping, insurance, etc. I was in the same boat a number of years ago.? For me it made more sense to work for a dealer part time while pursuing other business opportunities to diversify my income streams. Wish you the best of luck. |
