Re: Max number of Crestron App instances in a program?

I think that is 95.2%/97.5% idle.

Re: Copy Kaleidescape GUI

If you do a right click on the project in the ProjectView in VTPro, an option ¡°convert to Smart Graphics¡± appears in the context menu.

If you chose that, you have to select a theme and then it?s saved as a SG project.

There?s still a lot of rework to be done, but at least you get all the buttons and other stuff.

Hi,

i?m currently working on a project including a Kaleidescape system.

I?d like to import the standard Kaleidescape GUI pages provided by Kaleidescape into my project, but with no luck.

I?m trying to just drag & drop the whole subpages from the Kaleidescape example GUI to my project in VTPro, but that doesn¡¯t work. The mouse pointer shows the ¡°+¡± when moving into my project, but when I release the mouse button, nothing happens.

?

It?s not even possible to copy and paste single buttons from the example GUI into my project.

Am I missing something here?....

new weather SG module defaults back to Rockleigh

i have seen the problem on my tsw-770, tsw-752, xpanel
i add Ottawa, CA - set it as the default
within a couple days Rockleigh is back as the default - no program or VTPro changes
i tried deleting Rockleigh, but it came back faster

also, i had Ottawa as the default & there was a warning symbol on the weather widget
Rockleigh has a weather warning, not Ottawa

Re: Display Analog Level as db Text on Panel

Just take the analog into an Equate, then feed those digitalis into an SIO. Works well

Re: Dynamic Icon and Dynamic Image Objects Local Path

\\images\\imageFileName.ext
in a serial IO.
I tend to place all my images on a ~resource~ subpage for easy management.

Re: Display Analog Level as db Text on Panel

dB doesn't universally make sense to end-users. They'll see a lot of negative integers, a 0, and a small number of positive integers and be super confused.?
I'd recommend percent. You can set up text to display as a percentage within VTPro-e, you just need to know the range.?
Link your formatted text with an analog, set the range, number of decimal places, etc.?
For this reason, I'd also recommend incrementing/decrementing by a percent rather than dB so that truncation doesn't confuse users when they pushed the button, the value changed behind the scenes, but didn't change on the touch panel.?

Re: SimplSharpOnvifInterface DLL - PTZ speed control problems

Can you please share this module? Thanks.

Re: QSC Q-SYS Dialer Module #programming

Micah,
F9 is for savages. CTRL + SHIFT + V is for bo$$es. You just need to format your conventions in such a way that you can't mess things up.?

Nathan,
You could create a UMC that uses parameter passing to wrap all 12 keys up that way you could F4 it, save for the asterisk and the octothorpe, which you'll likely text name (I guess you could call it 10 & 11 if you wanted to and it made sense to you and you're lazy).?

But there is no need for a dedicated module like in Biamp since everything is just a named control. There are pros and cons to this.?

Dynamic Icon and Dynamic Image Objects Local Path

I'm trying to get dynamic icons and images working with the images just stored locally on the panels. Help files and online help say it's possible, but I haven't managed to make it work. It works fine served up http from the processor. Any one know the string format to make it work? Help file for image objects in dynamic mode seem to suggest that it's c:/images/<filename>. but that didn't work.

SimplSharpOnvifInterface DLL - PTZ speed control problems

Hi all,

Have any of you ever used a?SimplSharpOnvifInterface DLL (VS2008) to control a PTZ camera?

I am trying to control the UNV (IPC6222ER-X30P-B)? - all the basic functionalities work without any major problems.

However, I do not see the option to control PTZ speed. And even if a parameter such as speed appears in an implemented method (eg. AbsoluteMove), the camera does not react to its changes and always moves at the same speed.

Have any of you had similar problems? I would appreciate any tips!

Best regards,
Wojciech

Re: Display Analog Level as db Text on Panel

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

If the raw data isn¡¯t available in dB, philosophically, I¡¯m not sure I¡¯d want to invent that data or completely trust its validity but an ASCALEL would do that for you.

Hi,

Having a bit of a dumb moment but how can I turn an Analog Level (0-65535 or 0-1400) into a db so I can display that on a panel for the tech users? This is for the Shure MXA's and they do not have a db level option as far as I'm aware.

Cheers!

Wow on this... this tread is just what I¡¯m going thru. I have a system with about 60 devices and I¡¯m experiencing the issues you describe with your system. 3 space buttons are a hit or miss. I was even thinking of leaving them in the program as three separate buttons and program the same to all three.

But you are right, the amount of time that I¡¯m spending setting up an program all of these devices is certainly not what I expected and for sure not what I billed the client for.

It was one of the most miserable jobs Ive done in 20 yrs.Beautiful Penthouse on the Bay. There is no way you can estimate the time required, I'd say 10 days to program. Program shouldn't be the word, bumble through every button on every keypad with mixed results every time is probably more accurate. Eventually it worked... mostly.? Getting one (3 button space) button to program properly is still a cluster %*&#! They never seem to actually work. Program Space 1 and Space 3 as a clone is OK if you hit the top or bottom of the button, Setting (use center LED) on the button helps but if pressed in the center like its a single button is hit or miss.... Setting button colors was beyond difficult and very limited. (Two colors per dimmer / keypad at one time) And cant be set programmatically. That means day, night, on,and off is about it for colors... crazy!)

If you could actually accurately estimate the time required to setup and program; no one would have enough money to pay for it and you'd never sell another Horizon EX project. The Cresnet is better but only because the aggravation of working with the InfinEX Diagnostic Tool and having to reload its database EVERYTIME you make a change is eliminated.

Crestron should be ashamed of themselves.
This is a beautiful keypad/dimmer with so many software flaws its essentially junk. I also deployed a wired 75ish device Horizon Keypad and Panel system in December 2019. Again a poorly supported system as a whole. Bug riddled, under documented, under performing all ring true. I guess the saying is true. "You can get better product but you can't pay more!"

It still makes my blood boil to think of the countless wasted hours I'll never get back. <<END RANT

Re: QSC Q-SYS Dialer Module #programming

Hi Nathan,

If you look at the example program from Crestron for Q-Sys you'll see they use individual button modules for each number and action.? It's really a good way to do it (slightly more tedious the first time, but more flexible) you just want to build your named controls in Designer so they're easily F9-able in Simpl (set the name of the block in designer and don't touch each control you drag over) and you can build the whole VoIP control pretty quickly.

Good luck,
Micah

Re: Samsung Ambient Mode Serial

Ambient Mode Off = \x08\x22\x0B\x0B\x10\x00\xB0

Art Mode On = \x08\x22\x0B\x0B\x0E\x01\xB1
Art Mode Off = \x08\x22\x0B\x0B\x0E\x00\xB2

I don't know why Samsung has two different names, and two different commands, for what appears to be the same feature :-)

Re: Anyone willing to write a Mr. cool Module?

Edited

I'm a bit late to respond back on this thread, but DannyB had eloquently summarized a lot of what my initial thoughts were. This should be relatively easy to do, it just depends on having access to the endpoint to test code with, and budget I'd say. With websockets, there's also an increasing number of Crestron dealers and CSP's who have invested their time into developing such infrastructure and code bases. This is especially true, now that HTML5 and Javascript have essentially become part of the overall Crestron ecosystem moving forward.

If I was developing this, device access would be paramount (at least for initial testing, and to ensure reliability, but also to speed up the development time). Budget would be a factor too since things are reasonably busy for me for at least the next couple of weeks; I'd likely need to allocate some time on weekends to complete this if there's a sense of urgency here. In that case, if there's anyone else who has a bit more free time and would like to develop this, I'd be happy to let them have it if cost is a concern.

I try to limit the number of projects that I take on in order to maintain appropriate output in terms of quality.

Cheers!
