4?Does Crestron have stated voltage findings on when processors or devices may experience lock ups when it comes to voltage fluctuations and/or voltages Neutral to Ground?

?

For instance Lutron processors will lock up at 108V or below, Samsung TV¡¯s experience issues at 2V+ neutral to ground. ??have stated voltage findings on when your processors may experience lock ups when it comes to voltage fluctuations and/or voltages Neutral to Ground?

Crestron APP block notification #app

Is it possible in iOS / Android applications to prohibit / block the display of notifications with access to the settings so that the tablet user cannot access the connection settings. In other words, how to restrict access to the Crestron APP connection settings in a public tablet?

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

Ah I see what you're saying Tony.
I actually (and a friend also) found and extensively tested this issue ~4 years ago and beat on Crestron about it (mercilessly as usual!). My recollection is that they did fix this with the latest firmware.
Also, I think part of the issue is resolved when you use the LINKSTATE extender on the Gateway module. If you're not using this, the unit definitely will not let the system know when it comes back online, at least until a new transition...

Let me know it that works for you...

Re: wake on lan #crestron

thank you for your reply.
the processor and pc connected to the same managed switch , but in different subnets.
i believe the solution must come from the network configuration, but i don't know how.
what is the ip helper address ?
i have a working module for wol in the same subnet.

thank you,

assaf?

Yes, nobody (except explicitly authorized) should be able to get on the blocking list of an internal Crestron processor¡

We stop exposing ports to the Internet a long time ago because oversea sources were constantly pounding them.? We now use OpenVPN if we need remote access.? If you absolutely must do port forwarding, I advise you to use a router where you can set up firewall rules and then only allow certain IP addresses (e.g. your IP addresses) to pass.

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

The issue occurs with Simpl programs too, not just Crestron Home. However, it's usually easier to come up with a work-around with Simpl.

The problem is caused by the INET-IOEX-RYIO not reporting its input states on program start, so a closed or shorted input will show as open after a program reboot. Correcting the feedback will require either opening then closing the input again, or power-cycling the IOEX.

I normally run the IOEX's power through one of the relays, if they aren't both being used, then program that relay to always be on. That will cause a temporary interruption of power whenever the program restarts, and refresh the inputs' status. If both relays are being used, some other method could be used to reboot the IOEX, or I suppose rebooting the RF gateway would also work - although I haven't tried that.

Ive been using that IOEX for garage doors and it depends upon whether youre
doing it with PYNG or with Simpl. When you first start the system PYNG is
confused with the signal it receives as to whether the door is open or
closed. You have to cycle it once to make sure. THAT is a problem if you are
remote and trying to open your door remotely. A camera in the garage would be
good in addition to the magnetic contact for safety purposes.

Re: wake on lan #crestron

Lots more information required.? ?Did you physically just connect the networks?? Are the pc and processor still on different subnets??

I've done WOL before across vlans but had to get the network Admin to setup an IP Helper address.? ?

The magic packet string to send is easy to find.? There are modules on here that work fine.? Your network is the bigger issue.??

Re: Crestron Home (OS3) MMS 3e problem

We didn't have any issues with some MMS-3e zones not working with Crestron Home.? But we found the Crestron Home interface to be clumsy at best.? In particular, instead of just having one source name for each MMS zone, Crestron home broke the Source into a Source for Spotify, another for Pandora, and so forth -- Made for a very confusion source select page and no way to jump between different media types once you selected one.? We also had issues with the MMS-3e locking up constantly where we eventually had to replace it with some Sonos equipment.

Also, we have had some reliability issues with the MMS-3e where the Main Zone would work but the Zone-A and Zone-B would disappear from all interfaces including the Mirage App.? Eventually the Main zone would stop working too.

Authentication Blocked IP

Have you guys getting a lot of chinese ip getting block while trying to access your systems?

Took the time to geo locate the ips and all of them are from China.

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

The device in my document is a simple MyQ wall button and my assumption is that it communicates the MyQ protocol over its buss as it wires directly into the same terminals as the more advanced wall control.
That's why I would *Expect* the opener to behave the same, BUT its all conjecture on my part....certainly an important detail to resolve!!

And I look forward to the 20th!? Da-Da-Daaaaa!!!...:)

How big a sensing area, what type of connectivity, and how important are aesthetics?

?

You could put a GLS-ODT-C-CN in a surface pancake box using Cresnet if that¡¯s an option and aesthetics aren¡¯t critical.

?

I¡¯ve used Visonic SPY-series PIRs around my house for really unobtrusive detection (exposed bit is about the size of a quarter) and mount it on a piece of polycarbonate or even wood cut to match the hole. 12VDC power and dry contact output (or you can tie one side of the dry contact to 12V and get a 12V wet output requiring only 3 conductors.

?

Beware with the SPY they really don¡¯t like over voltage¡

No, it is a TCP-Client (or UDP to be precise) in my case. I?m trying to send a WOL magic packet on port 9 to a PC to wake it up.

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

When you press the button on a LiftMaster wall controller it doesn¡¯t cause the opener to flash its lights or make any noise.? If the contract closure adapter is sending the same commands then there is an issue.? On the other hand if it sends commands that mimic what MyQ sends the the opener should give the proper audible and visual warnings.?

If the contact closure adapter doesn¡¯t supply warnings the it is going to be up to the Crestron dealer to provide that as part of their overall solution.

Wait until the 20th and I¡¯ll show you an alternative to the Crestron?INETS-IOEX-DOOR-BATT-W for under $20 ?

If you're talking about the device in the document I had posted, I should expect that it would do what you mention. It is a liftmaster 'smart' button talking MyQ protocol to the opener - i.e. it's essentially a simple stand-alone wall control so that the opener should do what it does when opening or closing. the 3rd party guy is just good at soldering!...:)? ?

And RE: wireless contacts for door status, I just remembered that Crestron now has an EX unit. It has its own magnet, or can use an optional external switch to its internal contact.
Not cheap at $ 240 MSRP, but much simpler than integrating thru a security system...
