Re: Ptz optics 20x
I'll give thay a try, may be the easiest approach.? Thanks On Fri, Jan 8, 2021, 11:15 AM Scott Coumbe <scottcoumbe@...> wrote: Application Market Place. |
Re: Ptz optics 20x
I used the one pulled off the ptz optics website.? Did your module come from crestron ?? On Fri, Jan 8, 2021, 11:12 AM Scott Coumbe <scottcoumbe@...> wrote: What module are you using? |
Re: WOL not working on CP4
Yes, I said "maybe".?? Usually when something doesn't work in Linux, it is a permission problem.? In Thorsten error log, it had an "access denied" message indicating it was a permission problem.? But it could very well be something else as no one but Crestron knows how the inner workings work in a Crestron processor.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDon¡¯t know specifically but is there a stop command that must be sent on button release? ? From: <[email protected]> on behalf of Dillon Costanza <dmcostanza1992@...> ? Re: Ptz optics 20x
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTypically you have to send a stop command upon button release. IIRC I found a way to do it with a logic wave pulse I¡¯m the Cisco SX-80 module.Hope this helps. On Jan 8, 2021, at 9:02 AM, Dillon Costanza <dmcostanza1992@...> wrote:

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers
Thinking about this a little more I have a question.? If you use the LiftMaster dry contact device is the LiftMaster opener smart enough to flash its lights and make a beeping sound (the way it does if a close command is sent using MyQ) when the garage door is going to close?? This is an important safety feature to make people, even if they are hearing or visually impaired, aware that the garage overhead door is being remotely told to close and there isn't a human there to make sure it is safe.? Otherwise the smart home platform needs to implement both audible and visual warnings or the homeowner has a liability issue with this solution.?? Thanks Jay? Ptz optics 20x

There was an extra letter and the ptz speed set in the parameters also failed to properly allocate inside the makestring. I was able to write the commands necessary myself but am having the following issue. Using pan, tilt, or zoom as a single button press drives the camera as far as it can go almost as if the button is being held down even though it isn't.? What is the way around this? Is their a certain logic symbol I should be using?? |
Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers
I took a look at the uploaded pdf this morning and it looks like a really good solution.? I didn't find this device during my research for the article I wrote and I don't believe that a lot of other people, even in the garage door opener industry, know about it either.? What I found was that people making 3rd party devices that integrate with LiftMaster openers were hacking a visor transmitter and soldering wires across the button contacts to integrate their devices with a Liftmaster opener.?? I personally have been using a magnetic garage door contact connected to a wireless alarm door/window sensor that has a set of contact closure inputs to provide open/close feedback of my garage overhead door.? The wireless door/window sensor connects to a non-alarm zone of my alarm panel that is integrated with my Crestrons system.? It very reliably provides open/close status of the garage overhead door without having to run an extra wire to that remote location. Here is a teaser.? My next article is about some inexpensive, wireless IoT devices that could easily be used to both monitor a magnetic garage door sensor and trigger the lift master dry contact adapter.? There will also be a Crestron driver included with the article.? For more, you'll just have to wait until January 20th for the article :-) Jay On Fri, Jan 8, 2021 at 4:29 AM <dan@...> wrote: I have used this also, and it works well. Re: WOL not working on CP4
Although, as I just realized, Steve Kuehn was just hypothesizing about the cause, so this may be completely the wrong track... On Fri, Jan 8, 2021 at 8:54 AM Jeremy Weatherford <jweather@...> wrote:

Re: WOL not working on CP4
The issue is with listening on ports < 1024 (ie TCP servers).? Way back in the annals of Unix, someone decided that only root should be allowed to run services on ports < 1024 - this is what passed for a security model back when you could trust anyone who had root on any machine.? :)? Still an issue, but a little less likely to cause widespread problems since it doesn't affect TCP clients. How on earth would you write a S+ module to use the most common IP control port ever, TelNet port 23 if so.? There is a ton of equipment that uses port 23 for IP control.? Will any module or program that needs to communicate to ports under 1024 not compile on 4-series? |

hi,
i'm trying to send wake on lan command from the crestron. the computer is in a different subnet, but we managed to connect the networks, so there is a ping between the controller and the computer. is there a specific command for this ? thank you, assaf |
