Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

I took a look at the uploaded pdf this morning and it looks like a really good solution.? I didn't find this device during my research for the article I wrote and I don't believe that a lot of other people, even in the garage door opener industry, know about it either.? What I found was that people making 3rd party devices that integrate with LiftMaster openers were hacking a visor transmitter and soldering wires across the button contacts to integrate their devices with a Liftmaster opener.??

I personally have been using a magnetic garage door contact connected to a wireless alarm door/window sensor that has a set of contact closure inputs to provide open/close feedback of my garage overhead door.? The wireless door/window sensor connects to a non-alarm zone of my alarm panel that is integrated with my Crestrons system.? It very reliably provides open/close status of the garage overhead door without having to run an extra wire to that remote location.

Here is a teaser.? My next article is about some inexpensive, wireless IoT devices that could easily be used to both monitor a magnetic garage door sensor and trigger the lift master dry contact adapter.? There will also be a Crestron driver included with the article.? For more, you'll just have to wait until January 20th for the article :-)

I have used this also, and it works well. I also tried the module posted by ckangis and it also works well so far.? What's missing is the status of the door or a change in the status of the doors. Right now we use magnetic contacts, but can be a pain on retro work.
