Re: Choice AVR for crestron
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDenon ditched the 232 port? The X6700, X4700, X3700, X2700, X2600 all have serial ports on them. ? Caleb Radecky |

Any recommendations for alternatives?? I'm finding that Denon and Yamaha have nixed the rs232 port and am not sure if there are any legacy IP drivers that will work with the new models.? Love to hear what others are doing. |

Re: Forcing Sonos update on a TSW-x60
If you've been working with Crestron for more than a few years then you really should know that issues like this are to be expected.? I (and many others) warned a lot of people in this group, Labs, Reddit, and Facebook groups that the Crestron/Sonos "partnership" was barely a partnership at all and to expect issues with the integration.? When was the last time you saw any sort of Crestron "partnership" work out?? Pandora?? Nope, that lasted until they decided to bail on the CEN-TRACK-AUDIONET.? Amazon?? Nope...they got the Alexa integration barely working and then just stopped updating it and never bothered to add more features to it (like AV control).? Apple?? Nope...barely works and they've been promising more functionality for how many years now?? Google? Did they ever get Google Home to work properly with voice?? It was severely broken last time I checked.? Logitech?? Is using their USB web cams a real partnership that helps us in any way?? I can go on and on but I think you get my point.?

Re: Studio vs SIMPL+VTPpro
Studio is EOL and is going to become abandonware.?
The idea was for it to supersede SIMPL and VT-Pro-e, but it never really took off and nobody really adopted it because it sucked for numerous reasons.? Still required for creating custom Smart Graphics. But beyond that, SIMPL & VT-Pro-e or C# & HTML5 will be your friend going forward.? |
Re: Sony TV IP Module with Smart Controls
Hello Currently it¡¯s free for an integrator for a single processor for demo purposes.? We are planning to price it as USD 125.00 per processor. You may include multiple instances of the Module.? I will check and let you know if we can provide you discreet brightness / scene settings.? Thanks Rajiv? Does this have discrete control over the TV's brightness/scene setting? I'm looking to press a button and have it change to "sports" brightness or night time settings. --

Re: Studio vs SIMPL+VTPpro
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI went to a Studio two day class a few years ago and it was a hot mess. No one¡¯s programs would work, not even the instructors. It was so terrible that the instructor did not even finish the curriculum for the course and he ended class early. I promptly deleted it from my computer that day and never looked back.SIMPL and VTP Will be around for sometime, even with the eventual progression toward CH5.? Ryan Cunningham? Re: Studio vs SIMPL+VTPpro
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýOne of the other programmers where I work will no longer program in Studio because of the bugs, limitations, and stability issues.? In particular, he says trying to go back and make a minor change in the system at some later date usually lands up corrupting the program were you have to rebuild the system from scratch.? He has since learn to program in SIMPL and much prefers that over studio. At least with System Builder, you could fix bugs by opening it in SIMPL and make a patch.? But at that point, you could never use System Builder again.? But it was a reasonable thing to do with old systems to get them running again.? That isn't possible with Studio.? I myself have never programmed in Studio although I have be called in several times to figure out some bizarre issues.? In the end, they all appeared to be bugs with no easy fix. By like someone else said, Studio is pretty much end of life now.? I would stay clear of it. On 6/8/20 5:03 PM, santiago via

So I've been poking around studio for a bit lately. And was wondering if it was a good alternative to using simpl and vtpro. I am fairly new to the whole Crestron ecosystem of tools and would love some advice. |
