Re: Recent Apple TV 4K Video Issues thru DM

Nope. Can't get video to come back at all through DM

Re: Recent Apple TV 4K Video Issues thru DM

I¡¯ve seen it once or twice. I think I reenabled hdcp or changed a hdcp setting on the DM. It¡¯s been a while so I can¡¯t be much more help than that but it immediately fixed the issue.?

We have had two customers this past week where video stops working from Apple TV 4K units that are routed through a DM switcher. Both switchers are using DMC-HD-DSP input cards and FW is up to date. These had been working fine until recently. All displays are Samsung - some are several years old. If you move the Apple TVs directly to a display, they work fine. Weird thing is DM tool shows good video coming out of ATV into input card but no video coming out of output card when switched....weird.

Now our switcher at the shop is doing the same thing. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Re: Software Archiving with Git, Mercurial etc

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

To be clear, Git/Mercurial/etc. are not archiving solutions, they are change management solutions. However if you have a means of backing up your repos either on prem or not in the cloud a sonde benefit is code archival/backup.?

We use Git in combination with the Atlassian suite. The decentralized repository nature works best for our workflow. We do a lot of development in SIMPL# and modern web development languages as well as SIMPL.?

However, beware that SIMPL¡¯s .smw file types are not compatible with merging. You will essentially have to only use fast forward merging if you ever need to merge two branches of code. If you enforce only a single branch in the repo and don¡¯t have multiple developers working on the same repo concurrently this can be mitigated.

If you are primary working in SIMPL you may want to look into a centralized repo solution like SubVersion (SVN). When I was primarily working in SIMPL I found it preferable as it could be more tightly controlled and managed.?

We have been archiving our software (Programs, GUIs DSP, Config files) for years using a fairly simple Shadow Copy program which saves our local directories to a central server. It then compares the files on the server and updates the local PC. While this has been very successful for years, I am wondering about incremental / delta type version tracker solutions like GIT or Mercurial..

These would allow me to have a single version of the current file. e.g. a .smw file and changes to the file would be tracked and logged, allowing one to return to a previous version if need be. But instead of having several versions? v1.smw, ?v2.smw. ?v3.smw? There would be only one file and a database created of breakpoints that one could return to.

It will probably work fine on text based files, but what about IR files, DSP files, Config files, that are not in clear text.

So if you are using a Software Version Control Tracker, what do you use and what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance

Re: DM- RMC-100-C TROUBLES

We've had the 24v/.75a wall warts fail on several units. Usually around the 4-5 year mark and usually just a cap that fails. If you know what you're doing, replacing the cap fixes it.

In any event, if you talk to your Crestron rep, they're very helpful if they hear that a bunch of wall warts are failing. I have no complaints!

As for other reasons the RMC might need a reboot- it could be anything from DM line needing a re-crimp to there being some DM-net weirdness to the port simply failing.

Is it feasible to swap the unit out with a replacement and test your defective unit in-house with a short pre-made (or certified) cable?

Re: OT: motorized TV mount

+1 for Future Automation, fantastic products, great support.
There are a whole bunch of automation integration options, including closed contact & 232 all built into the control box.

Re: Crestron zoom integration

The big catch with the CLI integration is you basically have to make the computer that's running that instance of Zoom a dedicated conference box. And it has to be running MacOS for all the features to work.

I have previously used a Chief wall mount that had motorized extension and swivel.? It appears this product is discontinued.

The TV will be large - I'd guess about 110 pounds.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Crestron zoom integration

That API requires OAuth2 to use. There's a CLI you can enable but it blocks any other apps from connecting. I've used it before but it was on an Extron control system so I don't have any experience with Crestron control.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have given the same option to the client but they are asking for the direct integration with out running zoom app in the ipad. Is it possible?

You can use a single iPad to run the Crestron App and the Zoom app. A reserved join from within the Crestron App will call the URL ( zoomrooms:// ) for Zoom. This will open the Zoom App that has been previously loaded and configured on the same iPad. Once the zoom app is running there will be a return to Crestron option in the top left corner of the iPad. There is no module needed.

How are you talking to WINK and getting feedback? I have a situation where I need to know the state of a switch. I'm currently using IFTTT to trigger the switch but I can't get feedback that way. Thanks in advance!

Re: Crestron app - viewing camera remotely

You need to setup the RTSP stream so it loads more quickly on the app.??Answer ID: 5195 has information regarding this and setup info for specific cameras they have tested with.? Most of the projects I've done have no problem pulling up an RTSP stream in 2-4 seconds on TSW panels or the app.
