Re: URC MX850
Heath Volmer
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCan anyone send me the 850 software/template? ?My URC account is not letting me in, and I'm on crunch-time with another job. ?Guy is heading to the site in a while and he might get bit by the main page problem. ? I would be very grateful! hvolmer at ddsys dot CO (no m) On Sep 26, 2014, at 8:57 AM, Jeff walkinshaw jeffwalkinshaw@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

Re: Logic Question
Not on press and hold v1.2
Press and Hold v1.2 The Press And Hold module provides functionality useful in many applications. It allows a single button press to perform two distinct actions based on how long the button is pressed for. If the button is pressed and released before the "hold time" parameter expires, the "not_held" output will pulse for "output pulse time". If "hold time" expires and the button is still held, the "held" ouput will go high and remain high until the button is released. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSend the template file first in the mx-850 editors then the the vtp file. This will make the main buttons work On Sep 26, 2014, at 9:20 AM, Neil Dorin neildorin@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

DMPS Network Ping
Hi all, Can someone explain why a (or several) DMPS units may respond to a ping on the 2nd IP Address (Video Board?) and not the 1st (CPU)? I'm using SoftPerfect Network Scanner (netscan) to verify things being online. I pinged an address, got no response, but I was able to connect in Toolbox, and after that it replied to ping. Do I just need a longer timeout? |
Re: URC MX850
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIIRC the issue with the main pages not working has to do with the default behaviour on the MX-850 being press and hold to execute commands on the first page, while a quick press just page flips to the device control page. ?It was a way for users to jump between devices without having to wait for a macro to finish of the system was already in the state they wanted (say switching from DVD to lighting and back).? I can't recall if there is a menu option to suppress the press and hold time on the 850? On Sep 26, 2014, at 7:43 AM, ted_brincka@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

Re: URC MX850
I tried this years ago. The method I heard of was to plug in an ML600, let Toolbox recognize it and then swap out the MX850 before you load it. If I remember correctly, everything worked except the MAIN pages. They would not send any presses out. I have heard of others getting it working but don't know the method they used.

Re: Crestron app file size too big for dmps
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýFlash. ? Basically the absolute minimum size is ~15 MB which means that most of the 2-series controllers without expandable memory are out of the running to host the project. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D Commercial Market Director Sr. Systems Architect | Crestron Certified Master Programmer (Gold) Crestron Services Provider | Biamp Audia Certified | Extron Control Professional From:

Simple 1 page project with three subpages is 15meg--there is not enough memory on the dmps to serve it up. Of coarse I am using as local file but if thier ipad walks or takes a dive? I wanted to have the backup plan of having the dmps100 serve the project up. I have no imported images, how did it get so big?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI don't remember what I was trying to do - just have all of the theme icons available for use in CF or something... ?Proved to be a big hassle. On Sep 25, 2014, at 5:50 PM, Neil Dorin neildorin@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues
Yes, you can setup SSH on the processor, and then it requires login credentials to access.? Be forwarned, the last time I used it, it was a little buggy at times.? Not the SSH in general, but the connection over SSH.
For instance, if you load your program through Simpl after a compile, sometimes it would ask you for login credentials, and work normally.? Other times, it would not ask for login credentials and in the background would try to connect several times and fail out. When it decided not to ask for login and would time-out, I would get locked out of the processor because the "disable accounts after X failed login attempts" is on by default.? I would either have to plug in with USB and reset my account, or have someone else with an account setup on the processor unlock my account. If I used toolbox to load programs, this didn't seem to happen, only happened when loading from Simpl for some reason.? This was about a year ago, don't know if they've fixed it since then. |
Re: Dmps and PC running MSlync
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIn Windows look at the ¡°Recording¡± sound mixer, not the playback (default) sound mixer. ? Also verify that the input you¡¯re using is (or is configured as) a mic input, not a line input. I haven¡¯t played with it recently, but in the old days virtually every ¡°normal¡± Windows sound card would pass through the line input [thinking you wanted to hear say a radio or whatever] but not the mic input [to avoid feedback] ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D Commercial Market Director ControlWorks Consulting, LLC Sr. Systems Architect | Crestron Certified Master Programmer (Gold) Crestron Services Provider | Biamp Audia Certified | Extron Control Professional From:

So doing a conference room with dmps100 and airmedia--so far so good. But today tried to do a video call with a desktop pc that's supposed to be dedicated for that purpose I have a serialy controlled PTZ camera 720p with usb and a crown pzm mc in the ceiling. I am running the mic into one of the mic inputs on dmps--it is routed only to the aux output that then goes into the line input of the pc. nothing else is goes out the aux output but the mic. Then on program side that mic is muted--so no chance for feedback (I think). so when I turn up the output of the pc in program it feeds back like a mother. I tried every possible setting on pc but no joy. My conclusion is somehow the pc's speaker output includes the mic input. When I try the same set up using my laptop it works ok, so I know I'm not creating the loop in the dmps. Is there an aftermarket sound app or usb sound card that will allow better control on this pc or is the sound card just too messed up. Any help is appreciated

Re: mlx-3
That is all handled in the Simpl programming. The only real difference when using an MLX-3 is that you don't have many options for page layouts. I'd recommend downloading an example program from Crestrons website of you are new to programming. Setting up an MLX-3 to control a projector and a TV, in the same room, is going to be a real pain unless you have a lot of experience programming these systems. I personally wouldn't recommend an MLX-3 for that type of configuration.
