Re: Samsung UN75F6300
How do you go about "teaching" the Samsung TVs the CEC commands to follow? Cannot find documentation on this process anywhere, and I do not see AnyNet+ anywhere in the menu. All other Samsung simply used the Generic CEC Display Control module and worked just fine. Now I have a bunch of model UN50EH5300FXZA and none of them will respond to CEC at all.

Re: Christie digital dwu600-g protocols
Contact Christie support, they'll send you the protocol.? I don't know why they don't have them all online -- most, but not all.? It's probably either the (PWR1) or the \xBE\xEF protocol, but I'm not sure for that model. On Fri, Sep 5, 2014 at 8:24 AM, cheinemann@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

AV (and Crestron) equipment sale today and tomorrow
Paul Walczak
Hi all -? We have moved our office to Northbrook, IL ?and have a lot of old equipment I don't want to move with us. There are lots of customer trade-in amps, speakers, networking gear, etc, but for this group may be most interested in the Crestron stuff, which I'll list below. For people not in the Chicago area, if you are interested in something let me know and if it doesn't sell I'd be willing to ship it. The sale is: 9/5/14 (Today) from 2pm to 7pm? 9/6/14 (Tomorrow) from noon to 3pm. Most stuff works and was demo, trade-in, or otherwise accumulated. ?Plenty of space for testing before you buy if you want. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThey normally do work quickly, but every now and then they go into "full-blink" mode for 15-60 seconds as the reacquaint themselves with the job they are supposed to be doing. Wifi, EX are all carefully staggered around this project. I've move the gateway several times. When they're on, they're on, but occasionally... Controlling a device by USB HID with Crestron, any conversion box known?
Hi, I am wondering if there is a conversion Box for controlling a device by USB HID. At the moment it would be a Synology VS240HD (survaillance videostation) and it is only controlable with USB HID (keyboard and mouse). I am wondering if there is a conversion box with network and/or rs-232 connection, which offers the possibility to send commands to that box, and this sends it to the device by USB HID. It should be a keyboard and if possible mouse emulator, so no keyboard/mouse is needed. Does anybody know such a conversion box? regards, Stefan |

I believe one of our engineers stated that all new Sharp consumer displays 50" and under will not have RS-232 or VGA anymore. What a shame. If you happen to get a new model 60" and up, you will be happy to have serial control. Thought about getting better control options since this has come to light. Since our business uses more than Crestron CS, need to know what will work 100% of the time. IR is always an option, but would put that control type on the bottom of the list. I swear I didn't even see LAN ports on those models either, WiFi only. Sharp is cheeping out. CEC seems like a viable solution for any DM install whihc most of mine are. but what about when its a hang and bang with a keypad. Is the Service USB capable of receiving RS-232 commands? ? cyberbri

Re: usb-ext-dm lan communication
I wish they had the ability to configure the ip and ?subnet. There doesn't seem to be much you can do other than hope they work. It's a dm unit, but dm tools didn't find it. Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone on the Bell network.
?
I was actually reading up the help file for this yesterday, both of the USB-EXT¡¯s have to be on the same subnet, this will not go through routers, since its a Layer 2 device only. I would check if you have them running through two different subnets. From: "koguntke@... I have a system with a Microsoft ppi board and 2 local pc's. The problem is that I cannot get the Crestron USB-EXT-DM's to pair over the network. I can connect them directly together as an extender, but as soon as I hook them through the dhcp router, nothing. I have used the module in simple windows and addressed the local unit in the pairing section..... nothing. Any hints or input would be appreciated. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMatt, ? Thanks so much for the input. I will look at the Crestron module and try that. The home world is new to me but also interesting. I got my CEN-RFGW-EX yesterday. Yale door looks are coming in a few weeks. I am also going to be using Crestron PRO2 to control my model railroad and have the signal system function just like the real railroads do. ? I have been programing for the past 3 years and under supervision of a great programmer and I am now taking the voyage to get certified as well. Past my P201 entrance exam and waiting on two others to sign up so will have a class in Chicago in a few weeks. I am looking forward to getting more verse on Crestron programing. I have done some very cool entire wings of buildings and had a great time setting them up. ? I have been collecting hardware from customer upgrades. Got a few TPS-6X¡¯s and TPS-6L¡¯s and ST-PC boxes and a few other items over the past two years. There not the newest but they look great and work J . ? Sorry for getting a bit off topic, ? Mike ? "The following entries have invalid address. Please correct or remove before selection OK: Remote Console to CNet ID 03:? No parent address specified." Anyone know how to fix this.? I have used Add/Remove programs and reinstalled Toolbox (TB suggestion) but no dice. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Ross Cook The Sound Room |

Re: Computer Monitor as TV
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have that BenQ as my lo-res desk monitor at home. Works great and I watch TV on it sometimes.? Now that I have my 28" Samsung UHD 4K monitor I mostly put the TV in the corner as a PIP source. It's pretty sweet having your PIP source display at 1:1 resolution and only take up 1/4 of the screen :) On Sep 4, 2014, at 10:25 PM, "Chris Niles chris.niles.crestron@...
