Re: Looking for Leads on a New Gig

I saw an opening at Ford AV's Dallas office just this last week.

Try indeed.com, search for Crestron.

Re: subpage z-order ft-tps4

I emailed it to TB last night, got response this morning:

"I checked the TPS-4L, QM-FTCC-TPS4 and C2N-FT-TPS4. And the only one it seems to be missing on is the C2N-FT-TPS4. It was likely accidentally turned off in the panel's definition and will require a database update to re-enable. We will get this reported to our Software Team for further action."

So, hopefully they'll get it rolled in to the next cdb update.

Thanks for responding. The changelog for VTPro mentions enabling the
z-order features for other panels, so it seems like an oversight to
me, like someone forgot to set that flag in the database.

In fact, if I save the project as a TPS4L project, I can set the
z-order option, compile, and upload to the FT, and the project works
just the way I wanted. Just annoying that I would have to resort to a
"hack" like that.

I've emailed TB, see they respond with anything useful.

Been there, done that... The flip-top simply doesn't have that option.
Which tells me that probably a separate team of engineers worked on
the flip top model than the 4L. Other than that, I can't imagine why
the hardware would be different between the two models.

Weak...

The last triggered subpage is what always shows up. You will have to
do
some tricks with delayed pulses or something...

Does the flip-top TPS4 not have the option for sub-page z-order?
I've
always preferred the option for "Follow subpage-reference Z-order" for
my projects, so I can always be sure of how the subpages will display.
The
C2N-FT-TPS4 doesn't have that Compile option, but the TPS4L does.

I can't recall if the option was there before and has disappeared
or
if I'm just thinking of other touchpanels that I've used.

Can someone confirm if this option was ever available for the ft-
tps4?

I just updated everything with Master Installer last night, so I'm
wondering if a recent update may have done away with it.

Re: Pioneer Elite VSX-91TXH RS-232 module

I used the vsx 84 module for my 92, worked for me, don't remember how close or not but I used it for several years before upgrading recently

the pio avr's act funny on 232 though, any command sent to the avr will turn it on, even the power off command, turn on delay was longer on 232 than ir as well

Is the Animation Time set low? I know that's a parameter on sliders; not so
sure about gauges.

Specifically the analog feedback seems to update slowly. I tested with
just an analog ramp and two buttons to ramp up/down. The analog gauge ramps
up and down but slowly and keeps ramping visually after I release the
buttons.

Same program/ buttons/ analog ramp/ analog gauge - work fine and
update correctly on a standard panel / XPanel.

Re: TV One 1T-SX-644 HDMI Switcher

So... After calling TV1 support, I finally found why my programming wasn't working.

Even though it is not in their documentation ANYWHERE, you are supposed to send a CR at the end of each command. The response I got, "We just assume that you know to send one at the end of the string..." NOT IF IT ISN'T IN YOUR DOCUMENTATION THAT I NEED TO DO SO!!! Vent over. Have a great weekend everyone!

If it's like any of the other TVOne horribleness, pressing buttons on the unit itself should generate strings that appear coming in to your com port. Other dreck I've worked with from these folks (IIRC) have been 57k 8N1, just pins 2, 3 & 5.

Has anyone had any luck controlling this via RS232? I am almost to the point of beating my head against my laptop because I can't get it to work. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated. It's a very simple configuration. Multiple HDMI sources into the switcher and out to a display. C2N-FTB buttons being used to drive this switcher to select the input. Each button press hits a MOS which then drives the SIO which SHOULD trigger the switch. I have checked all my settings and rechecked the 232 cable to the switcher and it still won't work. HELP PLEASE!!!

They added a parameter to adjust the "liquid" smoothing, aka lag. Dunno if
it's in release, may be a Labs-only thing right now.
