Correct, make sure the manufacture says it has firmware revision 3 (most do). If you read the Crestron help file, it explains this.

Yes, your issue with battery life is due to the module you are using, I am
assuming the Crestron one. It polls the locks extremely often. These locks
give unsolicited feedback after any event. If you open the module and change
the polling of the lock as I have, once every 24 hours, simply to query the
battery life, you will see the locks last 4-5 months of average use. Then
you can just invest on two sets of rechargeable batteries.

be
announced for resale shortly Date is TDB."

I have also used Kwikset with Leviton Zwave controller. My issue was
battery life, it would only last 10 days. the feedback could be seen every
15s, my thought was that was causing the shortened life. I RMAs the
kiwkset
lock 3 times to come to this conclusion. Other than that, the feedback,
control, integration with MC3, Mobile Pro, MTX3, MLX3 was seemless.

Please let me know if you have a hint of help on the battery life I have

I am curious what people have to say about this as well. With the Tandberg module, I pretty much had to remove/comment out all the Crestron written feedback portion of the module, and just write my own code for the feedback I needed.

The gauges have a little animation to them... Crestron calls it their "Bouncy Scrolly," trying to make things more "Apple Like."

I would also try the same example on a dedicated network, a noisy network can cause "hickups."

Specifically the analog feedback seems to update slowly. I tested with just an analog ramp and two buttons to ramp up/down. The analog gauge ramps up and down but slowly and keeps ramping visually after I release the buttons.

Same program/ buttons/ analog ramp/ analog gauge - work fine and update correctly on a standard panel / XPanel.

Re: TSW series a lot to learn and ask...

I've haven't been experiencing many crashes in VTPro-e lately, working on Core 3 projects seems to be pretty stable. One thing that crashes the heck out of VTPRO-e is trying to save as to the same file name.

My advise with Core 3 would be to start from the groud up, instead of trying to use a complicated example to learn from. Once you learn your way around the property grid things become a lot easier. I'm not doing a lot of the fancy stuff, mostly just buttons, analogs and text strings, so your experience may not be as good if you are playing with Smart Objects and Smart Applications.

My customers have been really thrilled with the quality of graphics I can whip up using the built-in Core3 stuff. Don't try to get wrapped up in making a Core 3 panel look exactly like an existing GUI that was done for a synapse panel, I think that is where a lot of people got hung up in the beginning.

Re: OT: Multi-room amplifiers

Paul Cunningham

AudioControl amplifiers. They're not the cheapest, but they are small (3U), relatively cool, rock-solid*, and powerful. They can withstand some serious abuse, including multiple 2-ohm loads on a single amp. As to control, there are multiple options involving dry contacts and 12V which work as expected. The DSP/EQ on thusly-equipped models is easy to set up. They ventilate passively bottom-up, and you can stack up to 3 of them together for a "chimney" effect with no problems.

Just put your matrix/preamp of choice in front - PAD8/BIPAD, Extron, etc.

*The D3200 has proven unreliable on the Ethernet side; I have high hopes for the upcoming D3400 & D4400 but nothing to report just yet. The *1 amplifiers suffer from the same Ethernet problems.

Re: Lutron QS Request Command <--Please someone help!!

I am not 100% certain on this, but am pretty sure that the query command is "?OUTPUT,1\n".

The Action number is only for actual commands:
For example, Action 1 is set output level
#OUTPUT,1,1,80,4,1\n - this will set unit ID 01 to 80%, 4 sec fade, 1 sec delay
#OUTPUT,1,2\n - will just raise the level of unit ID 01
... and so on.

The query command does not use the Action number, I believe.

Re: Lutron QS Request Command <--Please someone help!!

In the QS protocol you are specifying the command, the integration ID of the device you want to control, and the action you want the device to perform. Some actions also have optional parameters that follow as well.

If you look at p93 of the document, for example, it shows how to use the OUTPUT command on a Maestro dimmer. The OUTPUT command has 4 actions that are possible:
1 = set/get dimming level (with some parameter options)
2 = start raising
3 = start lowering
4 = stop raising/lowering

So when you send the command "?OUTPUT,1,1<CR><LF>" you are getting the current dimming level of device 1.

When controlling a keypad the actions available are:
3 = press
4 = release
9 = get/set LED state

Hope that helps!

Re: Simpl Windows Freezes

Its been few months and I continue to have issues. I have the latest released databases. The freezing happens even when I am not connected to a processor. As long as I am working on a project that has DMPS-*00 in it, SIMPL windows freezes constantly. I am using XP with 4gb ram. If I am programming any other processor, everything is fine.

Make sure you have the latest released firmware for the DMPS-300 and the latest released databases as well.

Does anyone know if the freezing issues have been fixed? I have been programming quite a lot of DMPS-300 and I am noticing long lengths of freezing when opening, compiling, saving etc.

We have also discovered the freeze issues when working with the DMPS-300. We have concluded that it's caused by the OOTBF. I've also noticed that back in the day when working with the MPS-300 (QM), Simpl would also freeze since that also had OOTBF.

Is it only when working with DPMS-300?

Have had similar problems with my computer with programs freezing for some time.
After removing all the printers I had installed (2 on network) i cut the coffebreak from 15s to about 3s

It's the DPMS-300.

SIMPL Windows goes into "take a coffee break mode" on open, save, autosave, and if you're lucky even on close.

It may be my PTSD but every time it does that I start to worry about how current the .ASV...

If you're feeling lucky, you can turn Autosave off but that is at your own peril.

Various people at various levels of Crestron have been promising a fix "soon" since October.

I have started working on my first DMPS-300 Simpl Windows project. While I am not at all a fan of this piece of hardware, I have started having Simpl Windows freeze up for several seconds and then start working again. Just wondering if this is something to do with the latest version of Simpl, or is this particular to a Simpl project involving the DMPS-300?
