Re: Simpl Windows Freezes
You can set the time between autosaves longer... fifteen minutes isn't nearly as annoying.

SIMPL Windows goes into "take a coffee break mode" on open, save, autosave, and if you're lucky even on close. It may be my PTSD but every time it does that I start to worry about how current the .ASV... If you're feeling lucky, you can turn Autosave off but that is at your own peril. Anyone Got Their Hands On The UFO Yet?
Hi all, We are expecting our first UFO remote within a week (?) or so. (You all know how that goes sometimes!). After looking at the programming, which is like the MLX-3, it seems like they are contradicting when talking about the 'MenuBack' button in one place and in programming it is called 'More'. I would think of it as a 'More' button since its icon is a page with a plus sign on it. It seems that it needs to represent more of a 'Go Back' (MenuBack) function. Also, in one place it labels the buttons as 'Page Up/Down' for scrolling MLX-3 style, but then in programming it says 'Channel Up/Down'. So...which is it? Channel Up/Down would be nice, but we still need scrolling buttons, right? All in true Crestron fashion, I suppose. I am nit-picking a little and might be asking too much of the remote, I admit. I can make it work, but am not sure that it will be clear enough for our clients. Any thoughts or experiences?

New Yahoo News RSS Parser
Hi Guys
I just posted a file to the forum entitled 'Yahoo News'..this module works like a glove! ... Just pulse the 'Check' signal and watch all the news data come flooding out in a readable format. Its based on the 'Yahoo Weather Socket' module written by 'jptnindia' and I also gathered alot of inspiration from Chip Moodys Yahoo News feed Example. I'm glad to give something back to the forum... |

Re: System Builder program problems....
I feel your pain too and also like you I am a novice at programming and have had my share of issues with SB. I can only add my experiences which are as follows. I use SB for Adagio programming and have found that the most stable versions are the 11/1/2011 releases of both VPro, SB Templates and SB 3.11, keep both device and crestron files up to date.

I also found that I would have more success if I worked from a fresh install. If I updated any software (new templates or newer version of SB) it would cause all kinds of errors during the last build phase. Hope this helps you, Peter --- In Crestron@..., "matt_rasmussen_2000" <mjrtoo@...> wrote:

Re: System Builder program problems....
It has been a couple of years since I touched system builder, but I remember having to open the touch panel section in the programming tree and then it would give you some option to build the panel pages. I know this had to be done before you could compile it for a complete project. Like I said it has been a long time and I have no idea how SB has changed since I used it. I had so many issues from SB back then, with it screwing up graphics on panels and I would always be able to find the bugs that would have to go to TBS and wait on them to get the issue resolved. After that happened a couple of times Simpl and VTpro is the only way to go.

Re: DM-TX-201-C Failing
Couple of failures, assumed to be heat-related. Got a couple of 2G Units going in this week, some in rings and some in floorboxes. Wondering how long the floorbox ones will live.

Yeah I reckon ours are about 1 in 5 too, and definitely the transmitters, receivers are generally OK. I've also wondered about the life exepectancy of the 2G's in wall mounted type... Cheers Jon --- In Crestron@..., Lincoln King-Cliby <lincoln@...> wrote:

System Builder program problems....
Hi to all!!
I am new to this group I am a novoice to Crestron programing ...Here's my problem I set up all pages and feedbacks and joins I am using SystemBuilder 3.3.15 and also the SystemBuilder template (destiny) 3.06 using TMPC-8X TP. I program all buttons and feedbacks for the system and then use the "Build System Icon" to compile it I get errors of missing "feedbacks" on my buttons and also some the button "feedbacks" get double press commands on them and I also lose the 1st main page ?..... I can compile all pages and feedbacks and buttons in the VTPRO program inside the SystemBuilder with no problem...Any other way around this I can try? |
Re: Cisco Tandberg SX20
Anyone have a module for the SX20 or know of one? I trued to speak with Cisco about it, but I should have just spent that time talking to the wall...results would have been the same

Re: DM-TX-201-C Failing
DM Transmitters seem to have a much higher failure rate than other devices -- I suspect it might have something to do with how bloody hot they run [I nearly burnt my hand picking up a DM-TX-201-C-2G a couple weeks back...and it wasn't mounted in the (air-tight) electrical box yet.]

When you say "quite a few" can you break that down into numbers? In my experience, averaged across all of the DM jobs (Classic and 8G) I've done 20-25% seems to be the average DM failure rate (either DOA or in the first 30 days) with those failures heavily skewed to transmitters. (Most amusing failure so far: DM-TX-200 with nothing connected to it reporting valid HDMI sync [and DM tool reported HDCP authenticated video, with 24 keys supported, at 0x0 at 0Hz.] -- wouldn't pass HDMI or VGA) Lincoln -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS Sr. Systems Architect | Crestron Certified Master Programmer (Silver) ControlWorks Consulting, LLC Crestron Authorized Independent Programmer -----Original Message-----

Anybody else getting the same? Maybe a bad batch? Or are we just unlucky? Which for our experience with Crestron gear is unusual, I can count the number of processors that have faulted under warranty on one hand.
