Re: Crestron Remote windows key press

You may want to try and update to the latest version of Crestron remote.?
The logout menu function logs out of the Skype user, but leaves it logged in so that the MTR script can be updated. This is outlined in OLH?

Re: Din-Dali 2 Sene Recall/Save

Hi Andrzej

I had no problems recalling DALI scenes so far.. just make sure that:
a) your ballasts are grouped as necessary, and
b) you are using Ballast Group Scene Recall/Save (not Ballast Scene Recall/Save).

When you expand the DALI-2 symbol in SIMPL you get both of these, one pair for each DALI loop.. Ballast Scene Recall/Save obviously works only for a specific ballast.

rgds,
Igor

Din-Dali 2 Sene Recall/Save

Hi

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

My latest article, "Testing Out AirHood, the Portable Cooking Range Ventilation Hood¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.

The health affects of poor indoor air quality aren't reserved for people living in traditional homes.? Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are produced wherever people cook food including families vacationing in recreational vehicles, college students saving money by using a hot plate in a dorm room, and people in apartments that don't have a true vent hood over their stove. This article looks at the AirHood, a device for managing cooking fumes in non-traditional locations.

You can find the article here:

For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here:

Finally, for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that here:

Thanks

Re: FILE OPERATIONS ON VC4

I've found many simpl+ programs have a leading slash in file paths that are coded and locked, which in Linux means from root.? I have had to create a file path to match what programs look for.? Example: /NVRAM

Re: D3 - scenesaver

Ha, found it after I posted

D3 - scenesaver

Last time I used D3 was back in 2016.
How do you turn off Scenesaver?
Client keeps over-writing scenes on the keypad and wants it disabled.
Pretty sure there was a check box.

EV Charger OCPP interface

Hi All,
Was wondering if anyone has had any dealing with EV charging control.

I am just on a project at the moment and we are installing a charger that is compatible with ocpp (open charge point protocol)? v1.6 (and software upgradeable to v2.0)

Was hoping to get charge info out of it and also setup charge profiles, timer to start charge at night/off peak etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Matt

Re: DMPS3 <-> DM-TX-201-C USB connection for Speakerphone

Hi Andrew!

Thanks for that clear answer! We already supspected this and now we will go with a classic USB extender.
Best regards
Peter

Re: DMPS3 <-> DM-TX-201-C USB connection for Speakerphone

Hi Peter! The short version is: Never.

USB on DM TX 201 is USB HID only. If you want to stay in the Crestron brand you'll need to look at their USB extenders not DM. Like the USB-EXT series?

DMPS3 <-> DM-TX-201-C USB connection for Speakerphone

Hello,

?

we installed a system several years ago consisting of a DMPS3-4K-150-C with a DM-TX-201-C on a wall outlet and a wall mounted DM-TX-4K-100-C as DM-inputs.

So far we have only used the DM USB ports for standard HID devices such as a keyboard and mouse. Now, we have to add an USB AEC system of existing ceiling loudspeakers and new wireless conference microphones. For this we will use a Tesira Fort¨¦ or a Shure P300 as processor and USB-connection.

Do any of you have experience with whether the USB connection (TX-201 USB-B <-> DMPS3 USB-A) can also be used for a USB speakerphone (2x2 channels)?

We're not on site, so we can't test it at the moment.

Thank you in advance!

?

Best regards

Peter

Re: Crestron Remote windows key press

Unfortunately,? the log out function does sign out the Skype user (last time I checked). Hitting the windows key 5 times is the only way I know of doing that, short of lettting it sit and pray to the Seattle Gods that it will do the right thing on it's own.

Use shared file operations

Re: Crestron Certified Drivers Display Ethernet - Epson Projector

I should get an Epson LS12000 very soon and like prepare my setup for it (replacing a JVC). I also plan to use the Certified Driver (Projector_Epson_LS500_IP.pkg). ?

How can I find out which UserAttibutes are used for this PJ and what that feature/setting they control? In particular I am interested in the lens setting presets, as well as picture modes.
I looked through the .dat file, but could not find anything in this regard.

Hello lo@...;?
Would you be able to share how exactly you polled for it?

Thanks!

Re: Latest simpl and typing symbol names

I can't find where he said it, but DH confirmed this bug is because of a new SIMPL feature that allows you to put in multiple copies of a symbol using text entry and should be fixed in the next release.

Re: BACnet timing issues

I just recently ran into this on a system with Niagara JACE and it had to do with JACE's internal polling. We spent a ton of time trying to figure out what was wrong from the Crestron side. We eventually got access to and found nonstop PollList errors in the JACE logs and adjusted the polling rates until it stopped filling the error log. Haven't had a WP error since.

We have a large?Crestron?installation communicating with 4 Tridium Niagara Jace's through BACnet.

3 of the Jace's work obsoletely fine. The main Jace however is extremally busy and we are seeing BACnet comm failures on this device.
I've listed the typical errors we are seeing at the end of the post:

We integrate to a lot of Niagara systems so are used to seeing and fixing these errors. This typically involves tweaking?BACNETDelayWPRP or tweaking the Jace programming. We've tweaked as much as we can in the Jace.

Unfortunately the system was designed by a guy who has since been asked to leave our company and frankly it was not thought through properly. No consideration was given to program load balancing. A third party was brought in to complete the Tridium programming leaving me to try and sort out this mess.

To give some context - when Crestron writes out to BACnet it expects a response in a timely manner. If that response fails to occur we will see the errors listed below. BACNETDelayWPRP increases the time Crestron expects a response.

BMS integration is through an RMC3 acting as the BACnet bridge. This is running current FW and BACNETDelayWPRP?no longer works.
Crestron removed it in later FW (why wouldn't they).

As a result we can no longer fine tune the BACnet.

Does anyone have any alternate means of tweaking the BACnet on 3-series?
Thanks
