The only module in the Crestron Marketplace is for a TSTAT.? You've seen one for the Snow Melt somewhere?

?

Yes, we have the 482 and my field guy was just connected directly to it from his computer with their supplied cable. I'm at the office.? We also tried the Serial Port test, which implies it will send back the current firmware version and protocol on its TX string; but we get nothing.? We're going to call them.

You have the 482 gateway connected to the Tekmar Bus Correct?

Pins on the ethernet connector on the 482 Gateway are 4,5,6 ¨C the document shows this

Modules exist for all of the Tekmar items.

I also had him press the buttons on the actual unit to see if I get any feedback and I don't.? The protocol seems to imply there is unsolicited feedback, but I get nothing from this unit at all.? Anyone have experience with it?

Hey all,

? Has anyone integrated at Tekmar Snow Melt system ("TStat" #654)? It does not appear that the Crestron module supports its features and I can't find the protocol for its specific functions, like Melt, Storm, and Off. I have contacted Tekmar, and they seem helpful, but then they say they will get back to me and never do.

CHRISTIE UHD861-P baud rate

Hey everyone, just in case you run into this monitor, the baud rate in the manual is incorrect. It also does not match the smaller version of this monitor.

The actual baud rate is 115200, not 38400. Christie said they are going to change their manual.

Hopefully it saves you the time it took us to get to the bottom of this one.

Cheers

We will see. ?The new remote looks to have fewer buttons, kind of like what Comcast did with their Xfinity remote. ?I'm guessing that will come with a new set of IR commands even though most buttons will line up with the old. ?I'll update once I get my hands on one.

Thanks for the input.

Re: MC3 - Issue

Looks to me like your program never compiled properly.
I've had this happen occasionally on my Parallels VM. Usually moving the complete program to a known working folder (where a program is known to compile) will fix this.
Simpl windows seems to be defiantly getting more fussy about source folders.
Also just make sure your working folder is not in a Dropbox, One Drive or Google Drive sync folder.

I personally have all my project and development programs in a Google Drive folder but only enable sync in the evening when I've finished work.

YMMV

Re: Simpl+ ITOHEX question

Take a look at the chr reserved word.
String = chr(integer)
That should get you where you need to be.

Re: Simpl+ ITOHEX question

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Ok¡ so a couple points:

?

  1. ITOHEX outputs the asciified hex equivalent, e.g. as a string with the hex representation. If you want to send it as a hex byte CHR() or the %c modifier in MAKESTRING will do what you¡¯re trying to accomplish.
  2. ASCII is just a lookup table of hex values to character mappings and not all ASCII values are ¡°printable¡± ¨C many are ¡°control characters¡± such as CR, LF, STX/ETX, etc. etc.,, thus, when you run Toolbox with the ¡°default¡± set it will attempt to map all printable ASCII characters to the ¡®normal¡¯ representation and display non-printable characters as hex. That is to say \x31 == ¡°1¡± == \x31, you can enter it however you want but Toolbox will convert it to display matching the format selected. You can set the display format to hex only if you prefer, which can be easier when debugging protocols defined as 100% hex values.

?

has been my go-to resource for conversions for nearly 20 years now (eek!) and you can see there, generally speaking, values <= 1Fh (31 decimal) and >= 7Fh (127 decimal) are not printable; actually 80h and above aren¡¯t strictly speaking not printable but they¡¯re non-printable as far as Toolbox is concerned; and a bit of an example of the evolution from 7-bit ASCII to 8-bit ASCII
