Re: Hue Lighting Integration
"Lighting is an essential service in any building. Philips hue is an IoT diy toy. I would not even consider them.
I'd consider using them as decorative lighting in say a theater room or
Outdoor area etc but certainly not as complete lighting solution" Good thing the original post didn't say...anything...about it being a complete lighting solution.? Lol... ? - Chip |
Re: MLX-3 - some questions
To each his or her own (opinion) or the corollary¡no accounting for taste.
That said, despite the rather peculiar programming methodology, it is a good remote and it works well. Best regards, Tel: 561.391.1843 P.O. Re: sonos line in Module V1.0
That would be great, Chap. I unfortunately don't have access to a Playbar now, but have done a couple of systems in the past that could've really used a "TV Input" command. I'm sure it's just a matter of time, before it comes up again :-)

Re: sonos line in Module V1.0
Tony,
His module is a nice encapsulated html login to the sonos, it is exactly what wireshark shows when I select line in on my pc's sonos app.? pretty slick! I cant get mine to work, but my lab setup has stacked switches which is a big SONOS nono. I am going to get my boss to loan me a playbar and capture the packets. Then send em to peter. regards, Chap |
Re: sonos line in Module V1.0
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýProbably yes, but I don't have Playbar for testing. If someone
sends me a wireshark captured communication between Sonos Desktop
Controller and Playbar (just right after TV input selection), I
can probably make a module. The communication goes on TCP port

Re: MLX-3 - some questions
Unfortunately, I find them to be rather pokey these days. Could be modifications to recent FW initiatives?

I used to do this on boats where we would have a load of MLX's. Just need a refresher on what step I am missing. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPardon my ignorance, but where is this 'Line In Module v1.0'? Don't see it in the database and don't recall a memo from Crestron about it. ? From: Crestron@... <Crestron@...>

Re: Crestron Sonos
Thanks everyone for all the help.? I have the setup running now. ? I recall the Sonos API issue when the Sonos - Crestron relationship was announced but I thought I had heard that the API was now opened up completely to Crestron.? Obviously I was wrong. I can see how the existing platform would work for some users but for the specific client I am working with I don't think it will be sufficiently friendly.? They have a large digital library that they want to browse it.? Seems like this cannot be made to happen right now. I think I'll transition them to Autonomics? - it has worked well for me. ? Any other ideas? |
Re: MLX-3 - some questions
Slip,
You can also load via the USB Port¡and it is far faster as well Best regards, Tel: 561.391.1843 P.O. Subject: [Crestron] MLX-3 - some questions I've been updating my home system over the past few weekends when I get a bit of spare time. This includes some updates to my aging MLX-3. The buttons are now suffering from a bit of double triggering - easy fix to include a debounce symbol on the buttons in simpl. Occasionally the scroll wheel will over-shoot but I can live with that. I still recon this is the best remote Crestron ever made and really wish they had moved it forward with the times. I'm running into a couple of minor irritations: * Project upload: Years ago I used to upload the project to the CEN-RFGW-EX gateway and the MLX would update it's project files from there. I can upload the project OK and assign the project to ID 0F. Has my old head gone a bit dull on this and I've missed out a key step as this no longer seems to be working? * Custom icons: I know this has been discussed before on the group. I have 3 music sources at home; MMS-2, Sonos & NSP-1. I'd really like to have a custom icon for the Sonos and have created a small 24x24 Sonos icon called 'Sonos-Built-in.bmp' which is located in \VTPro Built In Images\Common\24x24\SOURCES. However VTPro knows this is not a real built-in image so flags an error. Anyone know a hack or work around? There was a third question as well, but I've forgotten what it was. Re: Crestron Sonos
The SG media list only allows you to browse Sonos Favourites. This has nothing to do with Crestron and is all down to Sonos limiting their API. This is no different to Savant or Control 4. Until Sonos allows full access to their API this will not change. If you need Pandora the best thing to do is add the stations as Sonos Favourites. I think Sonos also limit the maximum number of Favourites to 30.
The musical note with dashes is the only icon you will see, and yes it's just a refresh. The above issues bugs me too but once you explain it to clients most are pretty understanding. As to your issues with zone duplication this sounds like a programming issue or some screwy-ness on the zone naming of the modules. I'm running V3 modules on my home system. Ensure the player names match exactly. -slip |
