I have seen many Crestron devices that arrive with super old firmware. They are probably assembled many months ago and sitting in the box on a shelf before they are released. Hell back at the end of Lutron QS processor availability I was getting them with 9.6.0 on them which was like 5 years old. Crazy how long they sat for. Unless they just put a base FW on them and let them be but if those remotes were built recently you'd think theyd put the most recent version onthem...

We have a boardroom with 10 1Beyond Cams, now that they allow you to build room layouts within the Automate VX instead of uploading a floorplan it's probably a lot easier to get up and running, as long as all of your room measurements are dead on, the systems work great but with the New Visual Ai features there's a little bit of leeway on that stuff. We and our client love the system!?

IIRC, when the license is required and not found there is an explicit message in the error log – so if there is no “can’t connect to this MAC, you need a license” message in the log this isn’t the problem you’re chasing.

So We just had this happen with a brand new TSR-310-B (the new 'black' one). its about 2 weeks old.

What's weird is that I'm 90% sure that I updated the FW to v3.000.0010 but the unit says it's on the very old v2.001.0122.001 which is probably what it came OOTB with, though I don't understand how a brand new, aesthetically changed model would OOTB with that FW...?!?!?

Has anyone seen the new units revert back?

Yea it wasnt firmware specific it was based on manufacture date. At least with the normal procesors. I had 4 systems where the processor system key changed itself on its own which breaks the installed license key. The last one that did it they told me that processors after a certain date no longer needed the license. Although i'm a resi guy I usually dont deal with DMPS but I would think the requirement was across all 3 series platforms. At this point I cant believe they havent fixed this in firmware- they added it with firmware why cant they remove it???

MQSACK, the use-case is to remotely ID the specific TSR. I have a site where were added/changed a unit and I'm looking to make sure we're dealing with the right unit!

The AppleTV extender does have this feature, but I don't have it enabled on this site...

That's a good thought JohnMax!

Though, the 'license' no longer costs $$ with the newer FW, it did require getting the free license...

I can't remember if it was eliminated with later FW versions, but its worth looking into...

I got it to work on Parallels but only on 3-series processors. I have not been able to get it to work on 4-series (4 series uses USB-RNDIS).

Do the DMPS3 require a 3rd Party Lighting License? Maybe that is your issue?

I've been having issues getting my RA 3 proc to connect to my simpl windows program. I'm using the publicly available v1.1 modules on a DMPS3-4k-150c. My company does almost exclusively QSX and I've never run into this issue with those systems. I have set up an integration login in the ra3 processor and have triple checked the password. I am also able to ping the Lutron processor from the dmps.

When I pulse connect, debugger shows

Not flash but does the 310 still support the message command? If so "message (whatever you want here)" will display the provided message on a black screen?
