MC3 SD card image
I was hoping someone could provide me with an MC3 SD card image/ My office test MC3 processor sh*t the bed on a power cycle. I thought I had one on a drive somewhere stashed but I can't find it for the life of me. DM me, please if you can accommodate. I'll change the MAC on it to my original once imaged.

Strange SRL behavior
Having trouble with SRLs A horizontal list insisted on showing 30pt font, regardless of what font size was chosen. Tried both the edit dialog and html tags. Tried a vertical list which tricked me into thinking it was working. It showed the text correctly until I added the join increments, then only the text on the 1st subpage in the list showed correctly. All subsequent subpages the text is shifted downward. I am using current VtPro 6.2.02, and SG 2.18.00.40.
What am I missing? |
Re: TSW-760
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIirc some of the early scheduling panels could be flipped to be fully functional panels (particularly the version with the integrated light bar) with the 70s and I believe 60s the only difference is software and the TSS are cheaper than the
fully featured panels so it would not be in Crestrons best interest to all you to make a TSS a TSW...
That aid it would be really nice if there was an "upgrade" license (say the cost difference plus a few %) to let you upgrade if a client decides the scheduling panels functionalit isn't quite what they're looking for?

Re: Needing Suggestions - Connecting multiple buildings with Crestron
Ultimately, if they want a service call every two months, charge for it, and let them pay for it.? It's their dollar.? And maybe when they get tired of paying they will change their minds. If not, you have a very good reoccurring training exercise for new techs. Re: Cisco CBS350 with Crestron NVX
#nvx
Hi Mark,
my configuration was quite simplistic: I created a VLAN (X for reference), matching the 3rd party IT's VLAN mapping for the AV components (even though our traffic is contained within our own switches, not passing 3rd party IT's switches), configured all ports to be part of that VLAN, and disabled default VLAN1. Besides that, I followed instructions from Crestron's Switch Configuration Guide for SG350X (from answer ID?1000314), which basically resulted in the following config flags related to the NVX configuration: Global config flags: bridge multicast filtering ip igmp snooping
ip igmp snooping vlan X
no ip igmp snooping vlan X mrouter learn pim-dvmrp? ip igmp snooping vlan X immediate-leave
ip igmp snooping vlan X querier
Access port interfaces: bridge multicast unregistered filtering switchport access vlan X ip igmp version 2 VLAN X interface:? ip igmp version 2 I currently don't have a switch and NVX-equipment available anymore to rebuild a test-setup and perform further testing, I'm working on that. Only thing I can imagine playing part between my and Crestron's recommended config, would be that I modified the VLAN from 1 to X, but with the global config flags reflecting the other VLAN, I would expect this not to be an issue. |
Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article, "Hands on with the Matter Smart Home Protocol¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
The Matter protocol promises universal smart home integration compatibility.? However, the release of this much anticipated protocol has been fraught with delays and doubt.? To see how it really works I've tried using some of the first devices that support the Matter protocol.? This article explores how the protocol works in in the real world and looks at how other companies plan on supporting Matter. You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: Finally, for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that here: Thanks |
Re: Cisco CBS350 with Crestron NVX

Hi Steve,
I indeed also quite quickly ran into the limitations of the Basic Display vs. the Advanced mode, but it was mentioned in Crestron's Configuration Guide for the SG350X's switches as well, so luckily didn't lose too much time on that. Beside that, the guide was very straight-forward, and luckily nearly all elements of the user interface on the CBS350 matched the SG350X's guide. |
Crestron Simpl slow on Paralels on mac M1
One of our machines started acting up this week.? It is an M1 mac running Paralels windows 11.? Simpl windows takes ages to load, even watching task manager it will show CPU usage for a bit then goes to zero, eventually it opens.? Even when it does, it is unusable.? All other Crestron software works fine.? Simpl has run fine for 3 months prior to this.? I have uninstalled everything Cresron related and even deleted the Crestron directory in program files, to no avail.? Has anyone seen this?? We are pretty much down to a rebuild, but I thought I would post here as a last resort.

Re: Atlona PTZ Pelco-D String
#simplwindows
Thanks, I'll have to do some more digging. I did find a Spectra IV camera module that uses the Pelco-D protocol that when my guys were on site I would test the commands already in the module. I was only looking for Pelco-D because I missed the Visca call preset command. I believe the call command is the "memory recall" command. I can also try that.
Is there anything anyone would recommend getting better at strings, and such? |
