Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
I am starting to see unreliablity on sites that I have updated 1.603 to 1.8x. Running out of memory and reboots are common whereas when they were running 1.603 they were perfectly fine. Several cases open that are going nowhere. I wonder if this 1.8x firmware has some internal issues or something is getting broken in the upgrade process.?

Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
Dear All, I had the same issue a week ago on two processors. The first one was running 1.8 firmware, but not the latest version and I cannot manage to upgrade. The second one was running 1.6 firmware and I fired the?betacleanup?command?before upgrading and it worked fine. The upgrade was really but it worked. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to try again on the first processor. Regards, Le?mer. 8 f¨¦vr. 2023 ¨¤?07:31, Bambam_101 <wiredhometechnologies@...> a ¨¦crit?: I went from 1.6 to 1.8 and as mentioned previously, most of my TCP connections broke on 1.8 and the AP3 started rebooting every day.? Reprogrammed my TCP connection logic (rather than my lazy 1 on the connect) which fixed that issue.?? |

I went from 1.6 to 1.8 and as mentioned previously, most of my TCP connections broke on 1.8 and the AP3 started rebooting every day.? Reprogrammed my TCP connection logic (rather than my lazy 1 on the connect) which fixed that issue.??
But troubleshooting the rebooting, I eventually rolled back to 1.7 which didnt fix it.? Then went back to 1.6 which seemed to fix it.? Had another go at it and went up to 1.7 and then on to 1.8 and it has been stable for a few days now.? But... In all that screwing around, I hadn't noticed that all my Sony TV's had stopped being controlled.? They're controlled using CCD modules.? All the displays were connecting and getting feedback, but I could not control them anymore.? 2 Days!! 2 days of pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was going on. Eventually Google told me that Sony screens can send feedback but can not be controlled if the controller hasn't authenticated properly.? After playing around with the CCD authentication, I managed to fix it and turns out that on the previous 1.6 firmware, I could load my CCD params, load my authentication password and then load the driver.? Now on 1.8, I need to load the params, load the driver and once loaded, then send my authentication password.? Then it works. So after 2 days of pulling hair out and getting no end of grief from the wife and the kids as to why the TV's weren't working properly anymore, all it took was to add in a delay to my code. Pure fluke that I worked it out.? My system will stay on 1.8 until it dies.? |

Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
For those having this issue with me, How old is the processor in question...
The one I'm working on is 10 years old... A good friend and electronic genius suggested that it may be the internal battery!!!? I hadn't thought about this but if the 'back-up' battery is going south, and it certainly is likely given that its 10+ years old, I wonder if this is the issue??? We're going to try to swap it and see... Would love to see what others are dealing with on this... |

Re: DMC-STR stream not starting. Troubleshooting Help Needed.
Thanks Mitch!? I took your advice and focused on the easiest camera I had to modify settings, a Bosch, go figure.? I was able to get it to 800x800 on a secondary stream and the DMC-STR accepted that and started the stream.? At least I can start there.? Thanks for the guidance!

It was surreal when I saw this come through my notifications.? I had this exact experience on Feb 3rd. I chatted with True Blue after I had been at it for some time. ---Name----+---Slot---+-FW File Version----+-Device FW Version--+---Description--- |

The DMC-STR is very _very_ picky about the streams it accepts. According to the specs it supports H264 up to 1080p, but you'll be lucky if you can coax it into accepting a 720p stream.
If you must use it make sure that: - Your streamer codec is H264, not H265 or MJPEG - Resolution is <1080p - Video bitrate is lowish - The wind is blowing to the north east. |

NAX-8ZSA for sale
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? i just got a NAX-8ZSA delivered that was ordered for a project. Due to the long delivery time, I went for an alternative solution and currently have no use for the unit so I thought I offer it for sale. If you?re interested, just drop me a note. Location of the unit is Hamburg, Germany. BTW: i?m interested in a 4ZSP instead. ? Cheers, Thorsten |

DMC-STR stream not starting. Troubleshooting Help Needed.
I haven't messed with these cards too much but we had an in line decoder fail and had a spare DMC-STR on the DM32X32 chassis so we figured screw it, we can give this guy a shot as the decoder.
Pretty simple setup, just a couple cameras with normal RTSP streams.? We've got the card itself on the DM network and the Content LAN on the VLAN of the cameras and confirmed on the card setup page that it's IP matches the same network as our cameras. RTSP URL comes up in VLC no problem.? Same URL from VLC entered into the DMC-STR then started only results in no connection and retrying.? I have tried all different sorts of URL's but to no avail. I read a bunch that the incoming resolution of the camera matters as to whether the stream can be initiated, is that correct?? Do I have to have it at 1920 or below to be able to even start the stream? Anyone have any other pointers regarding these things.? Seems like I am throwing a rock at a rock wall and hoping for a different outcome here. |

Cresnet ID troubles with GLXX-2DIM8 & Crestron Home CP4-R
#cp4r
Hello guys, hope you're doing great during these rough times with these nightmare ETAs and delays.
I'm having a weird issue with a CP4-R processor while configuring several GLXX-2DIM8's for a home automation project. These units are being configured at a temporary install location previous to being transported to the final installation site. So we are configuring them one by one due to having limited space to fit all these lighting modules. The issue is the following: * The processor is assigning the same Cresnet ID to all of the GLXX-2DIM8 units I connect to the Cresnet Bus. Doesn't matter if I connect them one by one, it will still assign them the same ID. This issue doesn't happen with the ON/OFF counterpart, the GLXP-SW16-LP, or with other Cresnet devices (Shade Controllers, Keypads, etc), just these dimming modules. What could be causing this? The CP4-R is already running its latest FW. |

Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo
I finally have a client interested in implementing this, in a Simpl program.? After reviewing the .dat file, I can't believe the CCD driver only appears to support Arming Away, Arming Stay, and Disarm.?? According to the .dat, which I'm hoping is wrong, it does NOT support Keypad Emulation (or any code entry), Serial output for current status, Zone status, or any other common features you'd expect with alarm integration. It will be a few hours before I can actually connect to a real system and confirm this, but I was hoping someone else has actually done it and can tell me what to expect? |

Re: Old PAC2/D3PRO lightning system upgrade to CP4
Hi John,
Thanks for the feedback.? Good to hear that D3PRO works fine on the Series 4.? Yes, I need to see what exactly happens to the IO when I switch the processor type in D3PRO.? But beginning to think it might be better in the long term to convert to Crestron Home or a SIMPL/SIMPL+ solution. Interesting that you had no issues with the CEN-GWEXER on the Series 2.? Every case that I tried it, it hasn't worked right.? In terms of the Horizon wireless keypads, it was the feedback did not work at all (if I remember correctly).? Landed up putting the CEN-GWEXER on the AV CP3 processor and EISC-ing over to the PAC2.? Another system with a PRO2, CEN-GWEXER, and an MLX-3, the MLX-3 operation was very flaky with tons of errors being generated in the error logs. Steve |

Re: Old PAC2/D3PRO lightning system upgrade to CP4
Steve I have a system we took over recntly with a PAC2 and we have a GWEXER that I added to the program for some EX lighting and it works just fine. This program was originally a D3 program but when we took it over it was already opened up in Simpl so I added the gateway in that way. So i know it will work, just never tried adding one in D3.?
But I have several D3 systems running on 4 Series with no issues. I am just curious on what D3 will do when you try to swap the processor as surely it will throw in all kinds of stuff to replace the I/O ports. I would doubt it would throw in a CEN-IO-RY or a C3 card cage device- probably would add a ton of ST-IOs haha.? |

Re: Roon integration
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYep, had the same experience as i?ve worked on two Roon-integrations recently: One with a Nucleus and one with a Core running on Windows. Sometimes the pairing was a bit tricky, sometimes I ended up with two instances listed in the extensions tab of the Roon settings and I had to remove and start from scratch. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von Mike Mariani ? Are you running the most current Roon software? If you¡¯re familiar with setting up the nucleus it shouldn¡¯t be any different. I typically end up having to reboot both Roon and crestron once or twice to get them to sync up and then do the authorization in Roon.? ? Mike ? ?

Daniel I have an entire Crestron-Hubitat module set that is available for download from my GitHub.? You can easily transfer information back to the Hubitat by setting up a virtual device, such as a switch, on the Hubitat and the turning it on/off on the Crestron system using one of the modules. The code is available here: Hope this helps Jay On Sun, Feb 5, 2023 at 7:15 PM Daniel Wier <greatwhitedan@...> wrote: Steve, thank you for the help.? I think you pointed me in the right direction. |
