Jeremy, you may be right, and my memory was not accurate.? If what you say is true, then really, the only reason to define the signals that the OP asked about would be if you need to restart a slot after doing some kind of automatic configuration or something similar.? It sounds like it will start all slots regardless, so the only use, is to use a stop program, and then a start program from another slot.
Unless you're into some heavy dynamic programming configuration, these signals are still not needed on a normal (95+% of the time).
