¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯m considering putting an order in for one of the Yale/Infinet locks* and I¡¯m not sure if I¡¯m ¡°disappointed by the lack of information¡± or ¡°confused¡± or both. So I come here to the wealth of information¡ ? 1-???? Ok, so the locks use 4xAA batteries. But what is the expected lifespan (either in ¡°months¡± or ¡°cycles¡±) ¨C anyone have any ¡°real world¡± lifespan to comment on? 2-???? What are the relative merits of keypad vs touchscreen? [at this point my plan is ¡°release door when I know who¡¯s at the door¡±/¡±release door when proper Prox card is used¡± more along the lines of an electrified door strike or ¡°standard¡± electronic leverset, i.e. I don¡¯t see actually entering PINs on the lock¡but I¡¯d like to know if the touchscreen brings anything to the table] 3-???? It looks like they ship with a Kwikset keyway cylinder standard, but the Schlage SC1 keyway is optional. My house is on the SC1 keyway and I don¡¯t intend on replacing every lock. With the keyed alike [KA] cylinder can you actually specify the keying/pin heights, or is it only KA in so far as buying a lock at a hardware store is KA (e.g. you find these boxes with the same code and voilla!) a.????? I can¡¯t see why there¡¯d be any problem with having a real locksmith rekey the cylinder but that just seems stupid if I already have to pay $_.__ to get the ¡°correct¡± cylinder from Crestron anyway. ? 4-???? Where is the ¡°module¡± for the lock ¨C I have the DB versions listed in Answer 5427 but the only thing ¡°Yale¡± related for an infinedEX gateway is the same ¡°Yale Lock (Generic)¡± that¡¯s been around for a year now with to module/from module serials ¨C and there don¡¯t seem to be any ¡°Yale¡¡± modules in the database. ? ? *- While looking for pricing, I also stumbled across the HDXSPA¡ yum.
