Was anyone able to fix this issue or have an alternative solution? I'm having the same issues with iPad's and iTouch running iOS 6 on an AV2.
Never had problems before using same setup and previous versions of iOS and devices.
Client get's reconnecting message and needs to restart iPad or terminate Crestron Mobile Pro G application.

Hi All,
It is definately to do with the WiFi sleep issue, i knew that as much. I dont seem to have the issue on my iPad Mini using the Mobile G App (I dont think programatically its any different).
I think its a combination of Apple and Crestron causing it, it seems if the Wifi takes a little longer than expected to re-connect (DHCP delays for example) Then it causes the app to pretty much crash. If i leave the app, check IP addresses etc etc all is fine, but the app WONT re-connect until i force quit. So it does seem to be a bug on the Crestron Side BUT caused by this stupid new wifi sleep that you cant disable.
Thanks for the feedback, im actually just doing another pro-longed test with static IPs assigned, to see if this speeds the re-connection up enough to stop the app crashing.
Best Regards

I am not meaning to post jack, but have you guys done anything with the Android side? If so have you seen similar issues? I am curious to see if it is apple or Crestron Mobile. From the sounds of it, it is an apple thing. I have never done Crestron Mobile with Android.

Hi everyone,
I've got a similar problem ...
This system is based on a PRO2 with 2 Ipads ... This has worked in the past but since last visit @ my client's place... the mobile PRO G app won't reconnect back to the pro2 after a while (i've got a message saying the host id and port is wrong...) and sometimes it find its way back into the pro2 after 10 minutes and sometimes, the only way to restart everything is to do a HW reset ...
the symptoms are appearing @ night ... i believe that my client start a dvd or watch television, let the ipad sit on the table and 2 or 3 hours later picks the ipad to shut the system off or watch something else ... and then mobile pro G "crash... & burn"
Does anyone suffer from this ?
please let me know...
Thanks
Stephane

The problem is probably due to the way IOS 6 shuts off the WiFi while in sleep or locked mode. You can test this by running a continuous ping while the iPad is awake, wait for it to sleep and 10 seconds later you'll notice it shuts off WiFi. I discovered this after trying to develop a method that monitors occupancy.

Hi
OK, seems like the issue isnt just due to guided access mode, just had the ipod idle for a couple of hours, pressed the power button to wake from sleep, and just stuck on the reconnecting screen.
Only way to fix it is to either re-start the iPod OR to force close the Crestron App and re-start it.
So frustrating, as this is the thing that restricting us from having a dedicated iPod which the user wont need to keep restarting.
Any ideas?

Yes we tested this and had the same exact problem. It works great unless the IPAD dies.
If it never powers down it will work forever.
Sadly this prevents it from being of much use to us.
They need a way to lock down the IPAD that survives the powering on and off of the IPAD.

Subject: [Crestron] Crestron Mobile: iOS 6 - Guided Access Mode Issues
Hi All
I thought Guided Access mode in iOS 6 for Crestron mobile was going to be the answer to all our prayers :-).
However, im having an issue where if you allow the device to sleep whilst in Guided Access mode, 50% of the time it fails to reconnect when bringing it awake again. The only way i can fix this is to not let the device go to sleep, which obviously has a massive impact on Battery Life.
I am running some tests now with Custom home button lock configuration profiles so the iPod only uses the Crestron Mobile app, and so far this seems to be working so far.
Has anyone else had this issue when using Guided Access Mode on iOS 6?
Thanks in Advance
Chris
