In programming, Android devices are setup exactly like iOS devices. In Simpl,
use the Crestron Mobile touchpanel symbol. In VtPro, you can either use Mobile,
Mobile Pro, or "for Phones" for iPhones or Android phones - the latter allows
custom resolutions to accommodate the various Android screen sizes. Similarly
for tablets, you can use Mobile G, Mobile Pro G, or "for Tablets" - all will
work. But again, only the "for Phones" and "for Tablets" panel types allow
resolutions other than iPhone or iPad standard.

After looking through simpl and vtpro, I can't seem to find the appropriate
symbols and panel type. In simpl I find a number of ipad/ipd/iphone
Ethernet devices but no "Mobile pro" device or a reference to Android. In
VTpro I can save as several typesof mobile pro projects but they all say
iphone/ipad in the descriptions, again I can't find any reference to
Android. My Crestron database is dated 5/2012 (31.00.004.00) and device
database is 9/2012 (45.00.019.00). I figure they are new enough since the
Android app came out in late 2011??
I find references on this group for using the ipad symbol for android too
but can not confirm that is correct and I like many others just get an
"invalid port" error when I try using any of the above combinations.
Could someone clarify exactly what is needed to setup an Android app,
exactly which symbols and panel type to select?
Thanks for any help in advance,
