Look for this Citicar
Hey everyone! Thanks to all for your work to switch over to groups.io! I¡¯m trying my best to track down a blue Citicar that was once displayed at the Central Texas Museum of Automotive History, until it was sold at auction when the museum closed. I used to own that car when I was a 14year old boy! It¡¯s a long story, but I have some things I would love to give to the current owner! I would be forever grateful! Chester

Yahoo Groups Closing 19
Good afternoon everyone, I¡¯m one of the mods on the C-Car yahoo list, and found out today that all Yahoo groups apparently will be closed from accepting most content after October 21, 2019. Content will be permanently removed on December 14. Here is the note: ¡°Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 21, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded.¡± In another part of the closing notice, It appears that existing members will be able to use the group for text, but no pictures, polls, calendar items, etc. in addition, no digest emails will be sent out. The C-Car group will revert to a private group, and finding content on Citicars and Comutacars will be much more difficult for owners and aficionados of these EVs. No matter which possibility ends up happening, if you have any content on the Yahoo groups site that you want saved, best to do that soon, before it all goes away. At one point there were similar groups on Google and Facebook, but those sites organize info differently - not sure how much of their info was duplicated from here, or how threads and images are made searchable on those platforms. At any rate, good luck to you all and your C-Cars. Keep ¡®em running, and have fun out there! Tom Keenan

Insurance for CCars: Your experience? 5
Hi All, I'm getting close to having my Comuta ready to "daily drive" the 2.5 mile commute to work. At the moment however, it's unregistered and not insured, so I haven't driven it much besides around the block. I don't want to pay full-on normal car insurance for it, since (especially for me, at 19) it's expensive, and I'll barely drive the CCar except when the weather is nice. My insurance agency offers a "classic/antique car" insurance option, with requirements that the car is in "decent" condition, is being or has been restored, and is kept in a garage. What are your experiences with insurance on your CCars, and what would you recommend? Thanks! - Jacob Field 1980 Gold ComutaCar @explosive_golfcart (Instagram)

Charging accessory Battery 20
Question. If my 12v accessory battery was dead, would it cause the car not to run? I Know it sounds like a dumb question. I know the 48v is what powers the electric motor. Also other than putting on a external battery charger, how did folks back in 1977 charge the accessory battery? The External port only charges the 48 volts on the batteries under my seat correct? Think I would have know that by now. The hood I cut into my car gives me quick access to the battery but in the old days they would have had to crawl under the dash..... Thanks, Mark
