Oil volume for rear differential.
开云体育How much oil should I put in my rear differential I have a Terrell rear axle and I use 75 weight 90 Royal Purple. The book says 11 oz and another part of the book says fill to within 1 in of top plug. Not sure which I should go buy. Last time I filled it I used 11 oz is this correct. 开云体育Which manual does it say that in. I have the book that was from EV performance and in two different sections it says two different things. One says fill with 11 oz the other section says fill to within 1 inch of the drain plug. I don't know if my last email went out to everybody. I posted it on a forum about a week ago and got no responses. So I think the email never went out. I have no idea of the actual amount, but with just about anything with a fill plug gets filled to a finger tip or less from the top. I think you're safe.?

开云体育Oh I forgot to add, I could not find a 90 weight oil anywhere so I used a 75w 90. Out of curiosity what do you guys use? I have heard some people put a lower weight in there for better range. On my Dana I used 75 90. In the winter it might benefit from a thinner oil. But I'm not changing it seasonally.?

开云体育I never had a issue with the oil weight in winter. I wouldn't take it out below 45 degrees anyway because I didn't want the body panels cracking. Not that it really matters but I also use a royal purple product. Also might be important to note that I use an altrax with a speed pot so starting isn't as rough as it was before.
