No response to a remote call 6
Hi Everyone, Interesting problem, if a caller calls the system, you hear it trying 10 times then gives up During that time, if I go into terminal and do MH 1 it comes back with the caller call sign But it will not answer the caller... Can some explain what happens when a caller comes in please All the best from Alan

Message #### Held - User has Hold Messages Flag Set 10
Good morning! Can anyone share the secret in figuring out what user has the hold message flag set in this case? These messages are showing up for every bulletin message my node receives and almost makes finding messages I am looking for impossible. Thank you! -Chris KO4YAW

Telnet issues via older clients 4
Hi all, If I try to telnet into my node (on my home LAN) from an older telnet client (i.e. MS-DOS or Mac System 7) I get the callsign prompt and after typing 1 or 2 characters several gibberish characters are printed on the screen and I can't type anymore. If, from one of these older telnet clients, I telnet into a Linux box I have on my LAN and then from there telnet into my node all is fine. So there's some compatibility issue between the old and new. These same older telnet clients can telnet into anything and everything I've thrown at them from Linux boxes to various "modern" bulletin board systems etc. But just not LinBPQ's telnet server. This isn't "mission critical", I just like to mix hobbies. I've tried all the things you'd expect like vt100 vs ansi etc, to no avail. Anyone else solve this issue? Or am I the only one even trying to match up such old machines with LinBPQ's telnet lol. 73, Doug

Ohio Packet Hub Allstar 2
Good morning all. Matt KB8UVN has an allstar node called Ohio Packet Hub 510810. I have teamed up with him and connected my Allstar node and ADN DMR Network together. The TG on the ADN Network is 31395. I am passing this information along. In the hopes that we can get some voice traffic about packet, Vara, BPQ, etc. Give you a place to talk about it instead of waiting for an email reply. Sometimes you can get things resolved fast by voice than over email. Any issues, concerns or problems. Please let me know. Ryan My ADN Server is 3103.adn.systems.

KM4ACK's Video How to install a Winlink Server on a Pi 4
When running screen -r bpq I get the following error. Seems to be an incorrect port setting (comes up by default in linBPQ Config Generator). Also, you need to use CALLSIGN-10, if you are going to run this config as a Winlink Server? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that he does more videos on how to run forms. KM6QAQ 73

Add apps to node 7
I am trying to add some applications to my node. Under JNOS I was able to add "mbox alias" statements that allowed users to enter an alias e.g. "MUD" and then it would magically telnet them to an app (a copy of Circle MUD). Can I do this with BPQ? I've done this in my config APPLICATION 4,MUD,,NI2O-5,WYNWX,255 but I can't work out how to then create a telnet connection out of the node to the service when the MUD command is issued. All I get is "WAYNE:NI2O-3} Sorry, Application MUD is not running - Please try later". Which makes sense as there's no instructions to do "telnet 44.56.66.6 4000". While I'm at it, can we also do "finger"? eg "finger ^philadelphia@..." Thanks Mark / NI2O

AXTCP Links 23
Hello to those on the list. I've just moved to new rural location, and it appears my wireless based internet service does not pass any unsolicited communication from the Internet to me. Even though I am using my own router, the port forwarding and ampr-ripd configurations are moot. Therefore I have no AXUDP using 10093, etc. and no ampret. Anyone interested in restoring their link with K5DAT-7 can use AXTCP with their side as the slave. In that case the map for K5DAT-7 would use this format if port 10200 were used: MAP K5DAT-7 0.0.0.0 TCP-Save 10200 B Each AXTCP link must use a unique TCP port, and the slave side, i.e. your side, must forward the TCP port in the local router to the BPQ host. Feel free to email me directly to work things out. If there are further questions in general about AXTCP, feel free to ask them on list. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for JNOS and URONODE currently. As I recall XRouter supports AXTCP, so it may be a solution there. When I get some time I may try an AXTCP link across the LAN between BPQ and XRouter.. 73, Lee K5DAT

Hardware for new node 5

WL2K Delete command
We were installing a new WL2KREPORT line and got the frequency wrong. Way wrong. Like, out of band wrong. I know Trimode has the ability to delete a frequency record from WL2K. Does anyone know how to send a delete command to remove that bad frequency? Using anything other than Trimode? Yeah, I know it will fall off by tomorrow but I'd rather get it off sooner. -- 73, Mark, N5MDT Montgomery, Texas http://n5mdt.ham-radio-op.net:52852

New version 2
There is a new version (.69) of BPQ in my Beta area and github. Main changes are that NETROM links try to negotiate using SREJ on connection and BBS transfer restart data is saved to disk so it is still available after a restart. Errant connect script 3
Greetings. There's what I believe is a connect script making a connection to my node that is evidently originating from N0HI's node in Colorado. It's attempting to connect outbound to KB9UNZ-7 on my VHF port. I have not been within VHF range of KB9UNZ-7 in nearly two years since moving further north, but curiously this started relatively recently. I left a message with Jess N0HI asking about it but never received a response. I can't say for certain if the script resides in his node, though. 15:23:38T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:23:46T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:23:54T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:01T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:08T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:15T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:23T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> If there's anyone on here that is in contact with N0HI that can inquire about it, I would appreciate it. Also is there any way to block the incoming connection? When the above activity is present, I can see a circuit to N0HI-1. I don't have a direct link with N0HI-7, so I'm not sure which AXUDP link the incoming connection is using. My best guesses are the links with either KE0GB-7 or W9GM-7 as they both have direct links to N0HI-7. Normally I keep the VHF radio set on high power because stations in my area are relatively far away. These repeated attempts to reach a station that is well out of range are causing my power supply fan to turn on and run unnecessarily unless I turn the power setting down on the radio. Thanks and 73, Lee K5DAT
