Hardware for new node
5
I have the opportunity to update a local digipeater with a node (and maybe add a WAN frequency as well). Should I use BPQ for the node and if so, what type of hardware should I use for the node? 73, Eric WG3K FM18rp Packet: WG3K@WG3K.#SMD.MD.USA.NOAM E-Mail: wg3k@...

WL2K Delete command
We were installing a new WL2KREPORT line and got the frequency wrong. Way wrong. Like, out of band wrong. I know Trimode has the ability to delete a frequency record from WL2K. Does anyone know how to send a delete command to remove that bad frequency? Using anything other than Trimode? Yeah, I know it will fall off by tomorrow but I'd rather get it off sooner. -- 73, Mark, N5MDT Montgomery, Texas http://n5mdt.ham-radio-op.net:52852

New version
2
There is a new version (.69) of BPQ in my Beta area and github. Main changes are that NETROM links try to negotiate using SREJ on connection and BBS transfer restart data is saved to disk so it is still available after a restart. Full changelog is at https://www.cantab.net/users/john.wiseman/Documents/BetaChangeLog.html 73, John

John is there any way to sort the routes display (html or terminal)? If not now, would it be an easy change? Maybe a line count? -- 73, Mark, N5MDT Montgomery, Texas http://n5mdt.ham-radio-op.net:52852

Errant connect script
3
Greetings. There's what I believe is a connect script making a connection to my node that is evidently originating from N0HI's node in Colorado. It's attempting to connect outbound to KB9UNZ-7 on my VHF port. I have not been within VHF range of KB9UNZ-7 in nearly two years since moving further north, but curiously this started relatively recently. I left a message with Jess N0HI asking about it but never received a response. I can't say for certain if the script resides in his node, though. 15:23:38T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:23:46T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:23:54T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:01T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:08T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:15T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> 15:24:23T N0HI-14>KB9UNZ-7 Port=1 <C C P> If there's anyone on here that is in contact with N0HI that can inquire about it, I would appreciate it. Also is there any way to block the incoming connection? When the above activity is present, I can see a circuit to N0HI-1. I don't have a direct link with N0HI-7, so I'm not sure which AXUDP link the incoming connection is using. My best guesses are the links with either KE0GB-7 or W9GM-7 as they both have direct links to N0HI-7. Normally I keep the VHF radio set on high power because stations in my area are relatively far away. These repeated attempts to reach a station that is well out of range are causing my power supply fan to turn on and run unnecessarily unless I turn the power setting down on the radio. Thanks and 73, Lee K5DAT

Audio device is unstable with QtSoundModem (linux mint)
I am having issues with the audio levels for QtSoundmodem. and Direwolf so I dont think it is an issue with the software per se but the levels dont seem to stay static even after doing a alsactl store They show the values are the same but direwolf shows audio input low even though it was just fine the last time I ran it QtSoundmodem shows very little recv audio on the bar graph.. very confusing Here is a system report snippet of my audio system Audio: Device-1: Intel Alder Lake-N PCH High Definition Audio driver: N/A bus-ID: 00:1f.3 chip-ID: 8086:54c8 class-ID: 0403 Device-2: Zoran Personal Media Division (Nogatech) USB Audio and HID driver: snd-usb-audio type: USB rev: 2.0 speed: 12 Mb/s lanes: 1 bus-ID: 1-6:4 chip-ID: 0573:1573 class-ID: 0300 serial: <filter> API: ALSA v: k6.8.0-55-generic status: kernel-api Server-1: PipeWire v: 1.0.5 status: active with: 1: pipewire-pulse status: active 2: wireplumber status: active 3: pipewire-alsa type: plugin Robert Cartier kd1jg@...

HF Forwarding partners needed
18
I'm looking for some HF Forwarding partners for NTS and Emergence traffic as it becomes necessary don't need any bulletins over HF. I have a full time 24/7 BPQ32 station setup and ready to rock and roll here in the lower part of Texas where it seems to be forgotten. If you are interested send your connect script to this station, I will put your callsign in my forwarding file for a connection. To connect to my station, you can find the listed frequencies on WL2K webpage.

BEAT Config: check ISPAccountName

#bbs

#bpqconfig
Hi, running at least the beta of 2025-03-03 in the configuration panel of the corresponding linmail.cfg the field SignoffMsg seemed to be projected also to ISPAccountName. It is fixed (thanks a lot for the coding!) in beta-version 6.0.24.68 (32 & 64 bit / 2025-03-17) but possibly needs to be checked at your system. 73 - Jochen Here with wrong data:

binding a usb serial device
16
Ok I have a question and I have tried creating a /etc/udev/rules.d/99-usb-serial.rules and while I do see my symbol link I am unable to select it in the QtSoundmodem app. What do I need to do to get ttyUSB0 defined so that if it is moved the system still assigns it and the port config will work Thanks Rob

ARDOPCF and QtSoundModem?
21
I think ARDOPCF uses "hw:1.0" and QtSoundModem does also. May I 'unconfigure' my 'AX.25_A' modem in QtSoundModem and configure ARDOPCF to use "hw:1,0 Channel_A" or similar in its place. It would be very nice to be able to run AX.25, IL2P, and ARDOPCF on one radio and 3 kHz band segment. 73, Chuck

Problem with template
2
Hi dear john I've tried using custom templates but I've found a few problems: the first: I load an image into my template with the following code <img src="{FormFolder}inc/logo_63.png" alt="Logo 63" width="60%" /> The text is converted into a url that seems correct but the image doesn't appear. If I copy/paste the link into the browser, the browser tries to save a file the second problem: When viewing a message with the template, the message is displayed in the template but the tag {FormFolder} is not interpreted and replaced by the required part of url These templates work perfectly with winlink express 1.7. Adding port number in BBS log
5
John, is there a way to add the port number from which a connection is made in the BBS log? If I had the ability to extract by port number it would help diagnose some things. For example, I would like to see the log for all my Vara connections, i.e. Port 5 and not all the AXIP port connections. So, just having the port number in there we can extract what we need through grep or whatever. Thanks -- 73, Mark, N5MDT Montgomery, Texas http://n5mdt.ham-radio-op.net:52852
