New version - fixes Account Name replace by Signoff Message in the ISP Interface configuration
I've uploaded new versions of LinBPQ and BPQ32 to my Beta site and github. These should fix the problem with the Mail ISP Interface configuration. It also sorts the Routes lists and adds a prototype for an AXIP status page at /Node/AXIP.html in the management interface. 73, John On 13/03/2025 07:17, John G8BPQ via groups.io wrote: Thanks, Yes, I'll be doing the Linux version today. 73, John On 13/03/2025 01:17, louis rioux via groups.io wrote: Thanks John, Everything works again¡ great! Might be a long shot but can I replace bbsusers section from bpqmail.cfg 2
All I might be looking for something that is a bit much. Is there anything available that I could use too import the BBSUSER section from the BPQMAIl.CFG file Or can I just take the BBSUSERS section and move it into the the file and then go back in and adjust any of the entries for SYSOP .. etc Just would be easier when bringing up a backup BBS to make sure there were no errors Thanks in advance Robert Cartier kd1jg@...

Forwarding Script and Frequency change on VARA port 4
What commands are available that I can send to a VARA port I see BWXXXX is accepted but that about a freq change or anything else or does that need to be done outside of the vara connection While I am scanning through BPQ Rigcontol that is fine but I need to be able to do a forwarding and choose the frequency based on the time of day when I know propagation would be better on a know set of frequencies would like to use either a memory channel on a 7300 or be able to change the frequency and set the radio to USB-D (Data mode) THanks in advance Rob

Trouble getting WinRPR to put rig into PTT, using rigcontrol in linBPQ 7
Hi all, I have WinRPR running on my linBPQ Linux machine, but just can't get it to engage transmit. It shows it's transmitting in the waterfall, but the radio won't actually transmit. VARA HF works fine. I have INTERLOCK=1 in the WinRPR radio port as well as in the VARA HF port. Below is the WinRPR port and below that the VARA HF port. I have the RIGCONTROL line and PTT CI-V both disabled and enabled, but I don't think I need them enabled since INTERLOCK=1 is enabled. My VARA HF port has all the RIGCONTROL and PTT config enabled and working with my IC-756Pro. LinBPQ version is 6.0.24.45. Any help greatly appreciated, 73. Need to reset frequency on radio after forwarding 5
I manually pickup messages from an area DTN hub using BPQMail and would like to go back to a set frequency after forwarding so they can find me when sending traffic to me. I saw a reference to the parameter DefaultRXFrequency xx.xxx but no reference if this still works or where to put it the port config file. Can someone help me reset my radio after forwarding to a set frequency? Thanks Dave - KD7UM

Field range values 3
When setting up the timing for mail forwarding/ reverse, what is the max value that can be entered into the fields for these settings (seconds). BTW minutes seem to me as a better value rather than seconds. the reason I ask is I want to poll for DTN traffic only 2 to 4 times a day, but those values are large when expressed as seconds. TIA jim

howto send from winlink express to BPQmail using telnet on a local host 10
I am trying to work out a way to send from winlink express to bpqmail thru telnet on the localhost I need to generate outgoing messages to a group and winlink express seems to handle this the best from what I can see SO with that being said instead I saw on winlink express under telnet session - settings there is a way to use the local machine as a RMS Relay. So I am assuming that I need to set CMS=1 on the BPQ32.cfg port definition but beyond that I am lost and dont see where to establish the rms relay to listen on 8772 I could also be all wet and not understanding the pipe any guidance is welcome Rob

how to post a bulletin to the BBS and have it be rewritten to a list 5
I was curious if there is a way that I can have a message posted to the BBS and have it rewritten so I can send out a defined list of rms express users individually. I was looking thru the system and havent come across a rewrite window i will continue to look The system is currently a closed system and not out on the public network so I am not too concerned for outside users flooding my user community Thanks in advance

Need Advice: RF Only Forwarding 10
Need Advice: I'm setting up 2 RF only BPQ nodes that are not within RF range of each other. (Please see diagram below.) However, they each can access a node on a mountain between them. The node is a Kantronics V9.1. In Scenario 1, forwarding would be done during sleep hours to avoid tying up the user channel. In Scenario 2, the data link would be 24/7. Kantronics has a KNet, KA-Node, and a simple Digipeater? Which type of node do you think would play well with BPQ for forwarding? What would the forwarding scripts look like between both stations via the node in each scenario? I'm curious to hear member comments on the pros and cons for each scenario. Thank you! 73 de Chris WW2BSA

Mail odd behavior 4
This morning I accessed BPQ Mail from a terminal window on the bpq host machine. Windows 10. BPQ32 6.0.24.64 and BPQMail 6.0.24.62 (these were distributed together.) Anything that I enter (LM, L, name, homebbs, anything) returns nothing to the terminal. I can see that it connects to the BBS on the mail app, and the queue value goes to what looks to be accurate. But nothing on the screen. Accessing WebMail in a browser works normal. Accessing the BBS from a browser terminal acts normal. Accessing the BBS from another machin using telnet works normally. The logs show exactly what the terminal does. No output to the terminal when accessed with a terminal window on the local machine. I looked for all occurrances of my base call sign in my config. I do have a couple and commented them out. Restarted and the same happens. Forwarding is happening normally. Recieving mail is happening normally. Anyone else have this happen to them? I probably have not accessed the BBS like this for months so have no clue when it started. So many changes to the config file since I accessed the mail from a termina... Just not sure if this is isolated to my fat finguring the config file somewhere or if others have seen this. Quite frankly, I don't even know where to start looking. -- 73, Mark, N5MDT Montgomery, Texas http://n5mdt.ham-radio-op.net:52852

BPQ Kiss AX25 Bridge Testing 8
I have been experimenting with the bridge functionality on a linbpq system. The test bridge system has only 1 telnet port (so I can use QTT for testing) and 2 RF ports defined. The 2 RF ports (10m and 70cm) are bridged and for testing purposes are configured for 1200b with a maxframe of 3 and a paclen of 128. The bridge functionality is working but with one odd behavior. Both RF ports use QTSM 1200b ax25 no fx and no il2p. I can connect on either the 10m port or the 70cm port to the bridge system directly as a node and issue a command that will generate a bunch of output like the status command and both ports behave as I would expect. By that I mean I can monitor the ax25 packets and see the bridge system send 3 frames (MAXFRAME=3) and the connected system respond as it should with a single ACK. The bridge node sends the next 3 frames which is again ACK'd by the connected system with a single frame and so on until there is no remaining data to send. The bridge is active the entire time but in this test is not providing anything useful since I connected to the bridge system directly as a node specifically to verify that AX25 packet timing was acceptable on both RF ports given PERSIST and SLOTTIME settings. Both RF ports behaved well and I did not witness a single retry. If I instead connect .eg. from a system on 10m "through the bridge" to a linbpq node on the 70cm side of the bridge the ax25 traffic is nicely bridged in both directions but now there is the odd to me behavior observed. With small bits of data that do not require more than a single frame the bridge works very well. If however there is a large block of data like the output from a BPQ status command and both RF ports are trying to do the MAXFRAME=3 thing the timing goes bonkers and there are lots of retries that slow down the transfers significantly. Short of forcing MAXFRAME=1 on the bridge ports is there anything I can do so that the bridge function does not muck so much with the packet timing? 73 de Rich WA3WLH

Need Advice: MAP through an Internet T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. "can" 7
I'm experimenting with one of my BPQ32 nodes. I need advice on how to MAP through a T-Mobile Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway. For only $35/mo it's a great way to provide internet service at almost any location - especially remote node sites. https://www.t-mobile.com/support/home-internet/arcadyan-gateway 1st experiment: MAP from my existing -7 node at the Arts Center to my -5 node at my house. I¡¯ve been able to identify the IP address for the can and have had some success using the following format. (x's being the IP addresses) on -5: MAP WW2BSA-7 xxxxxxxxxxxx TCP-Master at the Arts Center: MAP WW2BSA-5 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx TCP-Slave But before I go into a lengthy post with more details, I wanted to first see how other Sysops have configured their MAP statements with a T-mobile, Verizon, etc. internet ¡°can¡± if they use one. 73 de Chris ww2bsa
