DNS Name Connection Issue
7
My Pi4 running my LinBPQ node was going bad so I replaced it with a new Pi4 and a fresh copy of Pilinbpq. After finally transferring the mail, users & wp data the node came back on line. However, two new issues. AXIP MAP station take a long time to reconnect after a reboot they do finally connect. I have a 2nd AXIP port that handles my AREDN tcp connections it connects right away.. I had the same setup on the original pi as well. Can not access the BPQ web server or telnet from outside of my network using ddns.net. This has to be some sort of permissions problem, if I start the original pi4 w/BPQ it connects fine. I have opened all the same ports on my network for the new pi. If you ping the ddns.net it resolves just fine. Apologies for any grammar or spelling errors! -- 73 de Glenn Allison N3MEL (tprfn) The Packet Radio Forwarding Network EPA Hub Station www.tprfn.net Emergency Coordinator Chester County ARES/RACES www.w3eoc.org Sent with Spark

CLAWS mail, POPing mail, multiple clients and unread mail
Hi, How do others deal with the "Unread mail" generated by housekeeping in these scenarios? Since I am using CLAWS mail, having the system report mail is unread in X days is not really accurate tho housekeeping is convinced so. As so POP does not have an ability to mark mail read, only delete. However that is kind of defeating if you read mail on many machines with something like a POP mail reader like claws/thunderbird. And BPQ does not have an IMAP server which would be more ideal for marking things read. So I tried to set the unread timer to 0, it just generates has not read mail. I guess I can put something outrageous at 9999 days or something but then it'll effect things more globally than just my user. PS I do read my mail, despite the system lying on me. :D -k

BPQ - VARA
6
We are in the process of creating a new node which has a VARA port. This is working for outgoing connects and some incoming connects. We have a total of 11 applications, each using a different ssid of the node call. It appears that only the node call and the first 5 applications are made available to VARA for incoming connects. The node call is WX4MC-8 RMS is temporary using WX4MC-14 - this will change to -10 when the node replaces the existing WX4MC-10. Attempting an incoming connect to WX4MC-14 (Application 6) or any higher application is denied by VARA. So, are we missing something? Is the limit actually 6 and how are they determined? Does MYCALLS allow more that 6? Trying this did not work the first time.. LinBPQ Winlink error message
3
Hello folks; I inherited the sysop duties from a SK. The system is operating on a Linux computer with packet only. I noticed that when I start LinBPQ I receive a message that says: WL2K Traffic Reporting disabled - Gateway WA9C-10 does not have a Winlink Account WL2K Reporting disabled - Gateway WA9C does not have a Winlink Account I have logged into Winlink and the call is there. The WA9C-10 node is not showing up on the Channel Selection but the system is processing messages fine. I'm a bit new to the Sysop game so any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks Dave WB9YIG (WA9C sysop)

RIGCONTROL format/options
7
I found that the 7300 needs a little more commands to control the mode like USB-D can someone explain the different options available. like P123, R1.. I assume R1 is for the radio number but I have to find a document that goes into more detail then the info below Supported Radios: Kenwood TS590S/SG ICOM IC7100 ICOM IC7200 ICOM IC7300 ICOM IC7410 ICOM IC7600 Yaesu FT991/991A If you are running a Sound Card Modem using the internal soundcard and PACTOR (or other TNC Modes) using the AUX connector the input to the modulator has to be changed depending on which is transmitting. As the Soundcard TNC sends PTT ON and PTT OFF commands to the application, these can be used to switch the input source. To enable this add PTT_SETS_INPUT to the RIGCONTROL config, eg RIGCONTROL COM8 19200 ICOM IC7100 88 PTT_SETS_INPUT 6,14.110,usb,F1,d,P123,R1 6,28.110,usb,F1,d,P123,R1 **** THanks in advance Robert Cartier kd1jg@...

Looking for Chat and Node connection partner for BBS forwarding
Hi All... I have a few partners that have helped me out, but would like to establish a few more in the south east gulf coast area. Looking to expand coverage towards Georgia. I'm still fairly new, but have learned a lot from some key players here in the BPQ chat here. Thanks, John - KD6CLO

New Windows LinBPQ.exe
4
Hi John, In your beta directory is the LinBPQ.EXE file the same functionality as BPQ32.EXE in the official distribution installer? If so, is it safe to rename to BPQ32.EXE, or just start bpq32 with LinBPQ.EXE moving forward? Thanks, -Chris

Changing IF Filter during forwarding connect script
9
Does anyone know how to change the Icom IF filter within a forward script? The Rigcontrol scan line options include the filter data, and the filter is applied when scanning. But, when the forward script is initiated the filter applied at the time is the filter used. If the script just happen to initiate at the time a scanned frequency with the filter is being scaned the filter remains applied. Or, change the filter in a terminal session after you attach to a port. -- 73, Mark, N5MDT Montgomery, Texas http://n5mdt.ham-radio-op.net:52852

BPQ32.cfg for APRS only
8
Gang, I have been using BPQ32 for about four months now but I still cannot crack the code for running a APRS station. I have been experimenting with creating/editing my BPQ32.cfg file but still can not get it working. Can someone provide me a BPQ32.cfg template that I can use with my UZ7HO Soundmodem for just one RF port on 144.390? I also want to add the digipeater function to my local area if possible. I live in Pike County Ohio. Once I get my APRS station up and running I plan on slowly adding more ports and functionality to my packet station. Thanks in advance for you help! 73, Alan, N8WQ
