BBS Not working
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could spot an error or reason why anybody connecting to my Node/BBS/Chat is not able to connect to the BBS, is something missing. Any help would be appreciated Adrian de 2E0SDR My current BPQ32.CFG is below. Most likely you have the Application numbers in your Chat and BBS configurations mixed up. When I connected to your node and entered BBS I was connected to your CHAT.
I'm not real confident with your Quality and Minqual settings. It's pretty backwards from what I use here, but that is not a cause for not being able to connect to your BBS. But, I do not use netrom on my RF ports... Your applications in your area may be far different than mine. Mark |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Adrian. The default BBS Application number is 1 so check in the BBS config that it is set to 2 (or change your Chat and BBS Applications numbers round) 73, John G8BPQ On 13/07/2024 13:33, Adrian Lane wrote:

A QUALITY difference of +/- 10 or less might be sufficient to get the results you seek. I recommend including SIMPLE before PORT definitions in your configuration file. 73, Chuck |

SIMPLE is primarily intended for use on systems without NETROM. Although I often use it from laziness I think it is better to explicitly set all the parameters, particularly when you are setting up a system with primary route over VHF and backup over AXIP. Setting such a large quality difference will ensure that all available RF routes are considered before any AXIP. The main thing is to coordinate with sysops of local VHF nodes. Widely different settings on the same frequency can cause unexpected problems. 73, John On 13/07/2024 16:20, Chuck Gelm wrote:
