Re: Reporting HF capable node on the BPQ map

Aye, It is not explicitly put in the various modem drivers. I have found it by some trial and error. But it IS listed in the uz7ho driver: It works on some others I think like WinRPR, ARDOP, and KISSHF (undocumented). If you look at n9seo-3 on the map, you will see mine. Tho I guess RPR is not reporting now. It was when I looked some months ago. 73 |

I don¡¯t see Frequency and Updatemap in the documentation but i am pretty new to bpq so i may not be looking in the right place¡.

I will put an ¡°UPDATEMAP¡± in my config and see what happens. Thanks Bob On Jan 11, 2025, at 8:08?AM, Chuck Gelm <nc8q-aredn@...> wrote: --

Where may I find more information? "FREQUENCY" does not exist in :-| 73, Chuck |
Re: Reporting HF capable node on the BPQ map
I think you need the UPDATEMAP in the port config. Tho it may not work for some ports types. I dont have a frequency line here, but have the RADIO section configured for rigcontrol.

Re: Help with CTEXT Format and ASCII Codes
Could you send me your bpq32.cfg file so I can see exactly what character's you are using?? Thanks, John? On 11 Jan 2025 10:47, DO1ATM <DO1ATM@...> wrote:

Re: Help with CTEXT Format and ASCII Codes
ok, but everything is done in 'terminal'.
The Config File is written in NANO, the BBS runs in a Terminal, the BBS Output is in Terminal, so everything should be the same I guess.
I must confess, I'm more a Windows guy and know about codepage problems by altering config Files in TXT Format by word ord wordpad instead of Editor.
But here?
And moust of all, what can i do about it?

Re: Upgrade to the Latest DLL issues
Always, always, always install the latest bpq32.dll, BPQMail.exe, and BPQChat.exe all at the same time.?? Ocasionally one will be the same version as the prior but it's better to get in the habit of doing them all.? You will have fewer problems.

Upgrade to the Latest DLL issues
I installed the latest installer and then installed the latest DLL.
My web interface for the mail (BBS) went away. I reinstalled again and I am back to normal, but running the 6.0.24.1 version. I think the DLL puts it up to 24.54 or something like that. Any suggestions? -Chris KQ6UP -- Thanks, Chris Maness |
Re: Help with CTEXT Format and ASCII Codes
Pretty sure that refers to pure ASCII vs unicode.

Success: QtSoundModem ptt and GPIO
Works fine. I'm not sure that I understand the GPIO terminology or if the GUI needs an update. I was designating the physical pin and it turns out that it is the GPIO Port number (GPIO 25 on pin 22). The other thing I ended up doing was editing the .ini file with Nano to configure the KISS port. That could have just been me being impatient with the GUI. With that out of the way, it worked well with piLinBPQ in place of Direwolf which is what I was after.

John, thanks for the quick response. I'm moving forward.

right codeset@John G8BPQ: Sorry, what do you mean with 'right codeset' please?
I copy the ASCII from above right into the bpq32.cfg, for reference the TEXT looks like this.

(sorry, here the spacing is not right, but in NANO everything looks fine)

I guess there is somethin missing, but what ?

Re: Help with CTEXT Format and ASCII Codes
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýASCII art should work so long as you have the right codeset, but you can't use \nnn to set control characters.73, John On 09/01/2025 19:09, Mauro Veiga via

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes, it should. You can select GPIO in the PTT setup. I haven't tried it for a while so would be interested to hear if it still works.73, John ? On 09/01/2025 18:40, dtmenges@...
