This is my config pretty sure is missing key elements to make VARA HF transmit.? The Win10 PC has the last version of Hamlib installed.? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Digipeater Setup Question

Gary,

You can also run a digi from BPQ by adding these two lines to your radio port. The digi uses the same SSID as the node.

?DIGIFLAG=1
?DIGIPORT=0

The details are about halfway down this page

I asked around a few months ago about running the digi on LinBPQ or Direwolf and did not get any difinitive answer. I decided to run both. The node doesn't get a lot of traffic so I can't say which is better.

Open your UZ7HO (soundmodem config)
then go to the (MyDigiCall=)
put your callsign with SSID.

Windows, there is a bpqmail.cfg and chatconfig.cfg files that contains the configuration.

I never bother with the messages, but if you really want to keep them someone will tell you the file/folders you need.

Can't help with linux.

Transfer Help

Hello,
I am going to move my BBS to a new Computer. I reinstalled the BPQ program
then copied my old bpqcfg file to the new computer. The node works fine. My
question is a multi part question.

What files do I need to transfer for:
1) Chat
2) BBS

Re: Query: Confirming Proper SB format.

You can't use just a country or continent code and expect it route on the AT list, as they are expanded to a full HA (eg EURO > EURO.WW, GBR > GBR.EU.WW) so will only route on HA fields. So if want to define your own flood areas (eg ALL@LOCAL) you need to make sure the area isn't a valid country or continent.

But of course where the messages actually get sent depends on how sysops have set up their forwarding.

Just because it says @eu does not guarantee that it just

a slow education process of the sysops to route things to

Seeking additional AXIP/AXUDP & BBS partners

I'm looking to expand my horizons in 2024. I'd like to entertain additional AXIP/AXUDP links and
BBS forwarding with stations outside of North America. I have plenty of both in N.A. Ideally,
I'd like to add additional links from Asia/Oceana, South America/Central America, Europe/Africa.

Although I have formidable RF hardware with large tower, rotary antennas, and big wire antennas,
most of the new BBS forwarding should most likely be via AXIP/UDP links.

As a good neighbor, I only forward and accept P and T type messages over RF. Bulletins are done
exclusively via AXIP/AXUDP/telnet in order to do my part to reduce the clutter that has overwhelmed
the US ACDS slots and adjacent frequencies. Most bulletins are considered spam. In the event of a
compelling bulletin, it can very easily be redirected to RF manually by sysops on a case-by-case basis.?

If you are a system operator outside of North America and are interested, please contact me off list.

Thanks for your consideration.

Best regards,

Gary, K7EK?

Node/BBS access compatible modes

Hi folks. I can access the Node/BBS with the VARA Terminal and navigate in the same way as with Packet Easyterm. But I couldn't do the same with ARDOP Chat. Is there any other mode besides PACKET and VARA that allows this type of access to users?

Re: Semaphore Clashes

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

As others have said, a semaphore clash occurs when two threads in the program try to access a shared resource. The total is of no real signifcance, but will be higher on a busy system or one of limited cpu power.

What is important is the Get-Rel count. This is the difference between calls to get a semaphore and release it. It should always be 1, as the code that generates the stats output runs under a semaphore. Any other value indicates a software bug.

This is a sign of high load on your system. However with that few I really wouldn't worry. I have 116k for 22hr up. Slow old pi! Doing a lot.

It may only be an issue if precise timing is needed which usually is not the case as you are not interacting with, say, an ISA bus and needing to read registers within uSec
