If you are not scanning you can comment out the scan lines.? Then manually set your radio to the frequency and mode desired.? It will never change. As long as you are scanning it will switch

You can send RADIO commands from the node or a BBS forwarding script. Can't you just leave the radio in USB-D? 73, John

This only applies if you are running a sound card modem and a hardware TNC on the same radio. If you only use VARA or other sound card modes you just set Data mode modulation source to USB and leave
