Joey,
You have a nodes list of >900
Remember that a sysop chooses his own alias.? With 900+ in the nodes list it is possible to have conflicts.? I'm also wondering if it is detrimental to performance.
I like to have a node table that is approximately 5 * (number of forwarding partners)?? Call me crazy but just don't see any reason to have every node in the world listed in my node table.
But that's just me...

You¡¯re not crazy Mark, if you¡¯re seeing > 900 nodes now that means the node limit was raised from 500 from earlier yesterday, this isn¡¯t as you might agree- the way.
For the benefit of all who may be reading-
MINQUAL= ?(above the ports config in the top segment of BPQ config) is the tuning parameter that Joey can tweak, if the AXIP port¡¯s QUALITY is set to 192 for stations heard on it, then a reasonable starting point is setting MINQUAL to 150 and then working downwards once every NODESINTERVAL to capture only desired nodes. Ideally, single hops rather than nodes that I have seen be more than 7 hops away (slow and often duds)
.
As mentioned MINQUAL is tweakable in realtime via the sysop terminal but it won¡¯t survive restarts so the parameter in the config file must be adjusted before each restart to save progress.
¡ª- On a related note about parameters up there, this may be useful info that I am commonly asked about so might be useful for the list (and Joey).
Relating to a tweaked config set up for my pal VK2RZ¡¯s node, its downloadable here:
(Its from an email exchange so excuse the ¡°you¡± references etc) hi hi.
?
You can find the tuned parameters in this one, just pop your passwords back in, delete BPQNODES.dat and see how it goes.
?
I have set the node parameters up to the absolute maximum a BPQ node can do, adjusting these parameters higher will make them invalid or cause a malfunction should your node ever reach maximum capacity.?
?
I am running ~80+ AXIP links here, and that¡¯s not yet at maximum (128 AXIP maximum possible + up to 16 RF circuits comprised each of a pair of connections into the node). This brings the actual maximum MAXROUTES calculation to 144.?
?
MAXCIRCUITS is calculated by looking at the stream capability of BPQ - it can do a max of 64 streams for applications.
?
When all streams are in use, there are 128 circuits.?
?
The potential maximum number of NETROM users that also create circuits is 16 (two per link, so 32 circuits). Add those together and we get 160 as the absolute MAXCIRCUITS
?
Then the MAXLINKS is derived from adding the MAXCIRCUITS to the maximum possible users coming in via single AX25 connections, which is (if they¡¯re free and not used by NETROM circuits) 32.
I hope this is correct. I got this info from John as some might probably already know my node is a stresstester (hence the silly masochistic test pilot title). Its something I do with all the software and stuff I help out with, probably much to John¡¯s chagrin hi hi.?
If I have posted something incorrect I blame my memory, please do help me refresh it!
