U3A Course R09 (What the Bible is about) Session 5 will start at 10:45 AM today 17 March 2022

 

Hello again,

Ray Sarlin is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting of the U3A course R09?What the Bible is About - An Informed Appreciation of the Bible.

This session will probe a bit deeper into Paul's important letter to the Colossians about the preeminence of Christ, his "full-length portrait of Christ."?In our last several sessions, Paul has declared Christ's preeminence, and this week he will begin to defend it against the Gnostics' empty philosophies, religious legalism, and man-made disciplines.

The course will run from?10:45 AM-12:00 Noon Brisbane time.

Hello again,

I apologize for my computer dropping out at 12 Noon.? I'll try to get that fixed before next week.

But we did cover what I had planned to cover for today, up to and including Colossians 2:8. My connection dropped when I started into the second pericope of Chapter 2 on other principals and powers.? Clearly, the Holy Spirit intended for that to be covered next week.Emoji?

So next week we'll cover the remainder of Chapter 2 and complete Paul's defense of the gospel against the Gnostics' empty philosophies, religious legalism, and man-made disciplines.? Based on Colossians 2:18, we'll?also examine how the Old and New Testaments address the topic of angelology (the study of angels).? It should be an interesting session.
