This group provides a discussion forum for past and current participants in U3A Brisbane's course R09 What the Bible is about - An Informed Appreciation of the Bible. This non-religious course applies the integrated nature of the biblical text to enable members to learn to unlock difficult passages for themselves by using the Bible to interpret the Bible. Each week we examine one or more books, chapters, or passages in detail. Members may nominate topics; no part of the Bible is off-limits. Whilst using the Christian Bible (Old Testament (Hebrew Tenakh) and New Testament) for teaching purposes, this non-religious/non-denominational course does not specify any particular version or translation, and students may use any Bible of their own preference. Teaching notes, handouts, and other resources are provided on a private course website for past and current members.
